[The Goodbye]

Well... I guess this is it.

Everyone. It's been.... I really learned a lot while I was here, and I found a lot as well. Take care of yourselves alright?

After being nailed to a tree for a week I've had quite enough excitement...Good luck. Do try to make this truce last, there's little reason for us to fight Kairos Aspida.

[Mad and Yui are about to leave the Chalice, thus bringing a close to their adventures with everyone here. Do you have anything to say before they leave?]

[The Exit.]

[As to how they were going to leave interestingly enough... Mad didn't load the Lambda onto a shuttle... Rather she loaded up all her belongings as well as Yui's into her mecha and... well...]

[Remember how Raynor had a giant motorcycle for Paragon? The sound of its massive engine was rumbling through the Hangar as the Lambda revved it up and rode it right out and off into the sunset. Was she wearing sunglasses as well when she did it? Who can say? Either way she figured if they were gonna leave, it may as well be showy.]

[After being nailed to a tree in several places and having her wrists, throat, and ankles cut up with razor wire, Yui's been confined to the sickbay. That said, the injuries have been healing incredibly fast-despite having five or so arteries shredded, including her jugular, Yui's expected to be good to go in a day or so.

So she's lying down on a bed, bandages wrapped around her right shoulder, left forearm, and neck. And for the sole person who has tried to betray the White Chalice to Kairos Aspada, things are...calm.]

[Another disaster averted and another day saved. Yui was resting after getting patched up after dealing with being tied to a tree with barbed wire and being bled for a nightmarish eldritch apocalypse machine designed to kill everyone except for herself - in addition, that shard with its equally unearthly power had been jammed into her. Mad waited outside the infirmary, but looked more at peace than she ever had before... a sense of knowing her place in the world, of finally reaching her dream of heroism. She didn't need everyone to recognize her and admire her... rather... just the people she cared about.]

Dad.... Gregory... I finally did it... I'm a real hero now...

[She took a deep breath and let out a happy, satisfied sigh as she pondered on the future while lying down in the arboretum.]

[With how the mission went, what with asses being kicked, people being saved, being reunited with her best friend and watching the jackass who torn up her dad's mech she'd be a little happier. Moreso since she didn't get her rear end handed to her again.]

[Except you'd notice Mad has a few bruises and was trying to take the edge off a little with little success, only making herself hurt more.]

[Yui was...not the best at being nice during the whole Kairos Aspada thing, what with her "I love killing people" and trying to hold one of the enemy soldiers hostage thing. And right now, she's sitting in the lounge, just flipping a coin back and forth.]

Well...That was something, alright.

2 [For Mad.]

Late at night, Yui's in bed with Mad, like they usually do-the bunks on the white chalice are kind of small, but with winter coming they're quite cozy. And besides, they like each other.

Still, Yui's just lying on her back, staring up at the ceiling well into the night.
"Madeline...I'm thinking about joining Kairos Aspada."

[Mad and Yui are off having dinner together tonight, away from everyone else. They've found a small, quiet hallway, off on the edges of the vast underground Hadou complex.

What with the evacuations and all, dinner's nothing complex; just some heated up prepacked food, in this case spaghetti and meatballs.]

Mmm...You know, I don't think I've been really worried about dying before.

[Mad experienced something of an accident during the mission, if it could be even called that. Her anxiety caused by the revelations surrounding Kairos Aspida and Ayame, her own fears and doubts, her lack of focus and ability to concentrate on her anger caused a feedback loop in the Agression Adapter and the link between the Athena suit and the ARCHIMEDES system - which then hit Mad's senses with a horrific whiplash. She's still feeling the pain, but thankfully the bleeding that had occured had stopped... she looked quite horrifying when she was pulled out of the cockpit. Essentially classified as walking wounded, Mad is off in the lounge, curled up on a couch and had pulled her knees up to her chest.]

... What? Did the docs miss a spot or something?

[She wipes close by her eyes, still looking tremendously unsure of herself. Clearly what happened today has given her a minor case of 'the Failures'. But it wasn't to the point that she was going to shatter to pieces like a prodded glass statue.]

C'mon... say something. Don't just look at me like that.

I never really liked the grand high bitch queen (Ayame), but finding out that she's been lying to us the whole time...

I dunno. Those Kairos Aspida guys sound kind of fishy, but maybe they might not be so bad over someone like her.

[After the incident with the Beastmen and the sorting out of the issues with the Moonrace, Mad's been working in the hangar - surprisingly though, it wasn't with the Lambda.]

Alright... where'd those notes go?

[Mad was more or less helping with any maintainence and repairs anyone else needed before going to help check over her own personal machine - she also has a few notes that fellow mechanics had helpfully made for anybody working with tech they're not sure about. She backs off from an open panel and wipes her forehead carefully.]

Matthew supervises the repair work and drainage being done on his Nova in the wake of the assault of both E.V.I.L. and a surly Demon King upon the coastal city.

And by supervise, I mean he's staring with disbelief at the rainbow colors coating his Nova, a veritable tie-die worthy of the Summer of Love. And pondering washing them off with capital-ship grade laser weapons.

In one of the lounges, he's perusing a water-logged manga trade paperback recovered from that building he crashed into.

He snaps it shut with one hand. "Of course!"

Later, he can be found in the Brig, starring down the two P.O.W.s from the SMILE brigade.

"What is E.V.I.L. getting up to? Talk! Or I will use your only weakness against you!" Matthew roars, pointing at a covered tray of Italian food he ordered from the canteen.

[There's something beeping somewhere. Its an emergency beacon interestingly enough. And its close. VERY close. Somewhere in civilization close. Anyone who goes to investigate this mysterious signal will find themselves walking to an alley. A possible ambush? Probably. Looking into said back alley you'd find a few bodies, abandoned pipes and chains - looking like a brawl may have taken place here... but why was there a beacon-]

[Mad's now in the infirmary, unconcious though. Halfway back to the Chalice she passed out. She's off the active roster for a good long time from the looks of her injuries, a month, maybe more... telling her this may be a bit of a problem though.]

[It might be a while before she wakes up. Do you wish to speak to others present and try to figure out just what the blonde got into?]

[Mad's been keeping to herself for a while. Working as quietly as possible whenever she helped out in the hangar, snagging a few books to read in the arboretum. Even her studying has a minimal amount of cursing in comparison to her usual attempts to understand the horrors of mathematics.]

[You manage to catch her as she passes through a corridor though Do you try to talk to her?]

[Mad's standing out on the observation deck of the Chalice, arms folded and watching the skies as the ship moved ever onward. She's been doing this quite often ever since Resnick's last rites, keeping silent all the while she was out there. The winds have been particularly chilly of late, so she's taken to wearing a large scarf while she was out there. Interestingly something about how she wore it evoked a familiar image for some, it was probably a coincidence though.]

[She takes a deep breath and sighs softly, wondering what would come after the next fight... and her musings were promptly interrupted by a tremendously massive sneeze that almost sent her off her feet. She was stumbling lightly and rubbing at her nose though. Looks like someone caught a bad case of the sniffles.]

[Amusingly, Mad's now bedridden - though not to the point she'd need to be stuck into the infirmary. Amusingly she looks very much like a petulant child as she's pulled her knees to her chest, pouting unhappily with a rather red nose - decked out in a particularly thick pair of jammies with the blankets tugged up and clutched to her hands. To top this image off the waste basket close by is filled to the brim with spent tissues.]

Stop looking at me like that damnit! Its not funny!

A dreary day in the not very creatively named Wolf City. The bloodhouse chapel was still starkly unpainted, reflecting the neccessity for more pressing construction, though pyramidal and grandiose in structure. Sprinkling rain drummed against the metal of the walls outside.

In hundreds of cubbies, there were small pyramidal glass things, each containing the ashes of a Warrior. Their name (given and bloodname) were displayed, and if one pushed a button, a holoprojection would appear detailing a brief biography and their accomplishments. There were also small alcoves next to each one where mourners could leave flowers and things like that, a concession to Spheroid tradition.

Resnick's ashes were carried in by Loremaster Daphne Vickers, who had his strong jaw and choppy blond curls, followed by Khan Phelan Kell, a man who, though not of impressive build, clearly commanded the respect of all the Wolf clansmen in the room. Both wore ceremonial fur-trimmed leathers.

"Today we are gathered to honor a fallen comrade. The honor of the Warden way guided him here and he became the first of our Clan to set foot here since the Exodus. He fought hard for his new home and represented us well to the Earth Sphere. As Khan, I found his regular reports invaluable. He earned his bloodname and carried it proudly, earning him a place here. And now he has earned his rest as well.

It is good and natural to mourn when one has lost a good friend and trothkin. However, know that there are two ways we will honor his legacy so that he is not forgotten. First we will redouble our commitment to stop the Word of Blake from bringing the Terra he worked so hard to protect under their heel. Writing a speech to honor someone who was, by all reports, a fervent admirer of his most hated rival and until recently a Crusader was not the easiest public speaking he'd ever done, though it beat facing down a hostile Council chamber. [Mad put herself through a lot during the battle at Kamogawa. Between the sheer force she exerted on herself through overuse of the ARCHIMEDES system, raging throughout the entire battle to the point she was all but running on an adrenaline rush to keep her going through the figh and to top it off - almost getting killed trying to get to Madoka through a very stupid move. She didn't need time out in the infirmary thankfully, but plenty of rest time was a must for her.]

[She's pretty damn quiet though. You'd expect her to be a bit more boisterous about a fight she was a part of that became a victory. She did well enough herself. Contrary to what Villagiulio had said during the fight, Mad had come a long way since she was that No-Skill loudmouth she was when the bastard carved Ares Gear in half. What it was she was deep in thought about though...]

Is... everyone gonna leave...?

[A lot of people she was close to seemed to just part ways, Sora she understood - red had to do what she had to do, Gregory was something of a shock - but she accepted his death, her big sister figure Hoshi leaving without a word? That one hurt a little. And now Madoka's staying in Kamogawa. Add to that her Adopted Father's death, her own abandonment of her friends (though that one was more her fault than theirs) and you have a blonde that's a little scared.]

[At some point Pit's gonna have to go back to wherever he came from, Resnick would rush off to an honorable death in some huge ass battle, Jeremy would go do HISTORY stuff all over the world, Lynn's a wanted criminal, that dorkface Kamille would do something stupid that would get his ass kicked hard, Lowe'd have Junk Guild stuff to do....]

[And Yui... she was scared of what would make the one person she cared about most of all leave her.]

[Mad's singing softly as she maneuvers the Lambda around the Hangar. What is she doing you ask? Well it involves setting up mounts for a pair of axes over the entrance - specifically the biggest damn axes she could get her hands on (It already helped that the Man O'Taur's axe belonged to her now). If anything she was doing her best to make sure that they didn't unexpectedly come loose. As she places the Axes and backs off to take a look she's now considering...]

Anyone have anything bad ass they wanna paint under these babies?

Like "White Chalice - Gods, Demons and everyone in between. There isn't anyone we can't beat"... only... you know... Cooler.

[Later on she's helping with routine maintenance. Considering all the technical lessons she had, it was only fair if she put them to practical use for more than her own machine.]

[She's giving a particularly messy piece of equipment a rather perplexed look before checking her mechanic's 'cliff notes']

[Its the late hour of the night/ As you pass the corridor where the Memorial Wall was, you'd notice Mad sitting opposite of it. Right under the names was a bottle of whiskey, a full glass and some flowers. In Mad's own hand was a glass she barely sipped yet.]

Y'know... I still wanted to kick your ass for taking things out of my hands some days. But others... it really felt good that someone got me on the road on figuring out things...

And you've given me a lot of advice, helped me out when you could... and I really appreciated it.

But...

Its tough these days... Stuff happening, shit getting crazier.

And here I am missing being able to talk to someone about things... stuff I can't ask anyone else... not even Big Dog or Yui... I mean. There's a lot I'd talk about to them but some stuff... I just...

I just wish I got the chance to say you were like a Dad to me...

[She couldn't help but laugh a little. Four Fathers. Her Birth Father who may as well have been a Stranger, Darren Caine who helped shape who she was and give her dreams to reach for, Resnick who helped her grow as a fighter.]

[She raises her glass to the wall.]

Gregory Winthrop. I'm lucky to have gotten the chance to know you. Alien Space Bug or not.

[And she downs the glass in honor of the man who helped her grow as a person.]

and it would've been cool to know if you saw me as a daughter. But... maybe I know the answer to that... yeah?

[Yui's in the gym...working out! She's going through those Kendo drills Madoka showed her, and even has her own set of lighter workout clothes. To those of you familiar with her financial situation, this has to be big news. The cut she got on her face has been bandaged up. It looks like she's been hitting the practice dummy for a while.]

( Cut for length )[Yui stops for now, and goes and sits down on the bench nearby to rest.]

So, what can we gather from this...either they weren't being safe, or they were trying to kill anyone from the Chalice...or they really were trying to kill me, specifically. Maybe someone with the kirin unit's on to me...

[She takes a drink of water, then leans back.]

That shrapnel shouldn't have hurt in the first place, either...is that thing failing? And then there's that woman...she's definitely better at using it than me...

[After the crushing of the Bandits in Fuso alongside Resnick, Mad Caine, Casshern, Sendou, and a proud Fighter of the Jersey Club, Matthew's Nova has been...trashed.

The armor plating has been battered and dinged, everything dented from some rather harsh impacts with the ground, and the the legs were done gored by a Robotic Bull.

It's just barely repairable. But it is.

Matthew thus has none of the despair of a Mechwarrior suddenly Dispossessed. As he sits by his mangled mech, he activates a holo on his tablet, manipulating icons with a light pen, sipping some tea, and pouring over a design of his Nova that is...intriguingly enhanced.

With the Logo of the Gurren Brigade stenciled across it's nose.

[Long term repair work and epic upgrading aside, Matthew's going to need a backup mech to sortie in for the immediate future.

Pouring over the various unused mechs in the hanger, Matthew is...flummoxed.

Over a stretch of land and on the decks of the White Chalice, Matthew tries out some Mecha to see which fit his piloting style the best!

[Mad's got the Lambda back to the Chalice in relatively one piece. There were damages all around but despite that Mad was grinning like a loon. Why? For one thing the Lambda had clutched in its hand, a very familiar looking Axe to those people who were in that domed city in the Ruin.]

Guys! GUYS! We went out there and KICKED some serious ass! It. Was. AWESOME!

[She lets out a whoop as she punches both hands into the air, if she was any more excited she'd be pulling a victory lap.]

[Mad's at the Bar, enjoying a good solid drink after a good day. The pleasing burn the alcohol sent helped relax her a bit from her adrenaline high. She grins as she looks into the glass, watching the liquid move as she lightly swirled her drink.

Life is good....

[She bet her pop would be pleased as punch. She'd have to bring by another bottle when she visits home again.]

[She's later reviewing every bit of footage of the fight she could get her hands on as well. A highlights reel of sorts. She pauses and rewinds, watching as she shot Finch in the knee as he tried to haul his scumbag arse out of there and was soon subject to an angry Fuso Mob.]

[She laughs... and the plays the scene again, clearly pleased with herself at the look of utter 'FUUUUU-' that appeared on the guy's face when he went down. Schadenfreude at its finest people.]

[Mad's at the Hangar, doing some prepwork with the Lambda. It wasn't too hard to guess that she was planning on heading out and taking on those Bandits that were raiding Fuso.]

Everything's in the green so far...

[And Mad hits the mat again, wiping at her face as she got back to her feet.]

[She cracks her knuckles and gets into a stance. Working off her tension with a good spar was helping her a bit.]

[She's in the Arboretum after a long day's workout. And as usual she didn't bother with a shirt. Seriously. Someone needs to talk to this girl.]

Every time the Invaders have poked their noses into human business, Hayato has responded with a flurry of activity and energy, frantically organizing everyone around him and doing everything he can to prepare for the encounter.

This time, he has no ship of his own. His army has shrunk down to its core of most loyal and skilled troops, all of whom know what to do. Zoldark has already mobilized the armies of Earth, probably with far more proficiency than Hayato himself could. Shin Getter Robo is in top condition. Hayato himself has given command of his army over to his most trusted (if NPC) lieutenant. This time he will be going as a simple warrior.

There's nothing left to do.

Hayato Jin, commander, murderer, terrorist, pilot, and hero, stands on the deck of the White Chalice, stares at the tiny point of light in the sky that is Saturn, and waits.

[Mad's been working hard on the Lambda for the past few days, in fact it barely resembled the Zaku it used to be - now looking more like its own machine. It however looked like it had been opened up quite a bit in order to make further modifications - meaning there was no way it was going to be combat capable for now.]

[You can find the blonde looking through her notes, practically covered from top to bottom with notes, muttering about the numbers and looking just a teensy bit concerned. There was also Minovsky Reactor not too far away - one commonly used by Zakus... why did Mad remove it from the Lambda?]

[Additionally she was working on something else as well. Several parts were all over the place as she tinkered with what you can assume looked like a generator. But whatever it was it ran on clearly wasn't visible... or lethal for that matter. Additionally there were several carved panels close by her.]

[Anyone who passed by where the wreck of Ares Gear was would find it severely chopped up and missing massive amounts of parts. Clearly Mad's been taking 'recycling' lessons from Lowe and lessons on not wasting anything the Wolves very well.]

[Mad grunted as she got the last panel closed, wiping some sweat from her forehead with the back of her hand as she looked up at the Lambda. Finished.... it was finally finished. She let out a tired laugh and whooped before letting herself collapse on her rear.]

You and me buddy.... we're gonna go places. You. Me. Maria and dad. Yui too.

[Drop by to say a few words to Mad about her machine?]

[After everything that happened out in the field, Mad was... for all intents and purposes... quite murderous. Between Ayame, the Chalice Crew and Section 2 there was no way for Mad to get to close enough to Gendo to make the man swallow his own teeth. She felt regret, the wicked sting of despair at failing as a hero yet again... but she turned all that into anger. Anger she was attempting to use constructively as she repeatedly shot targets downrange. The kick of her pistol and the solid crack of gunfire growing more and more accurate each time she fired, and every time she imagined NERV personnel in her sights.]

Those. -BLAM- Motherfucking. -BLAM- savashri -BLAM- ASSHOLES!!!

[The Target snaps into pieces from the last shot. Mad's taking deep breaths before she coldly reloads and brings up another.]

[2] [Locked to Mad's Roommates.]

[Mad seems to be looking over several schematics in addition to her notes. Papers litter the room as she continues to hammer out her plans for the Lambda's complete form. A few days ago she sent a pair of letters to Fuso. Hopefully the one that involved the Lambda would be sorted out in due time-]

Step on my notes and I'll step on your face. Move it.

[She motions to you without even looking. React to her?]

[Mad's at one of her usual spots, kicking her legs and singing softly. Like before, it was a sad, melancholy little ditty. Her expression wasn't anything sad though, it just looked tired... like she needed some sleep.]

[Mad's back to work on the Lambda again after a round of math. She was scowling at a set of calculations as she looked back and forth between readouts and her papers before letting out an almighty sigh.]

Goddamnit... what the hell am I missing here?

[Clearly whatever she's trying to find, she just can't find it. The Archimedes system was sound.. but something keeps going wrong. A few more dry runs and the same 'blowouts' occur... more or less. Nothing explosive thankfully. A few more combat tests wouldn't hurt but she's honestly stumped.]

[Mad's at the bar, slumping over the counter slightly, her lips drawn into a grimace of annoyance. Her body was aching like heck between her exercise routine and her training with the Clanners. She looked the part too given her literally half-naked appearance - all that was protecting the modesty of her top half was a towel - and to be honest it didn't hide much.... though Mad would be the first to say she didn't have much to hide.]

Honest to god... the day's been damn freaking balls...

[A day of stubborn machinery, brain-cramping math, tripping in the hallway and getting tossed around by genetically engineered super-warriors. At least things weren't worse. Thankfully she had a strong drink in hand... wait. Isn't she only fifteen?]

[Gentlemen, Mad has managed to cobble herself a makeshift stage and has liberated a mic stand somewhere.]

[...Uh oh... this might be problematic. Given how badly she failed at several other things... the kitchen incidents coming to mind... she may possibly sing worse than Alessandra! Mad's taking a deep breath before she starts up and....]

[... She's... actually not bad... scratch that. She's good. Really good. She's leaning into the Mic stand a little... whether she's drunk, or she's actually getting into the song is up for debate given how smashed she was. The song was a slow, soft and surprisingly sad number. The sort of song you wouldn't expect someone like Mad to know... but here she is, putting as much feeling as she can into the words..]

[Despite the mood around the Chalice concerning the recent mission, there's someone here in the mood of the season going on right now!]

[And, no matter where you are right now, there's Gentarou, suited up as Kamen Rider Fourze... and he painted the suit red and green! He's certainly no Gokai Christmas, but it's the thought that counts, right? Kengo's gonna kill him once he finds out. IF he finds out.]

[There seems to be a curious amount of ruckus coming from a section of the hangar. Around the back where 'projects' and the sort usually take place. Anyone who investigates would find an odd looking Zaku with several sections missing armor... and those sections happen to look far more complicated than one would expect. Additionally, there was the even MORE disassembled form of the Ares Gear close by, as well as several seemingly spare parts sitting around outside of it.]

[The Cockpit was open, Mad leaning out of it slightly to yell down at the Mechanics... and anyone within earshot]

OKAY! I'M TURNING THIS THING ON! EVERYONE STAND BACK!

[There was a massive thrum.]

Generator one! Clear...Generator two! Clear.... Generator three! Clear!

[The Zaku... if it could even be called that anymore was coming to life. The monoeye flaring brightly.]

[Mad's going to arm-pump triumphantly here. Say a few words?]

[Mad's been taking her newly built machine out for a test run, so far so good. But one cannot find out the limits of a machine by small tests alone. ]

[Which is why she's asked you for a practice battle. It'll give her some info on how her 'baby' is going so far.]

[After the massive amounts of testing she's put her heavily modified Zaku through, Mad's taking a break in the Mess Hall. Not really kicking it back and relaxing though. If anything she's.... working on her math? Huh. Oh, she's also keeping a small list of things she's learned through trial and error with her new machine next to her. There are several question marks next to the entries. Problems to be solved as she continues to tinker with it.]

[A while after Mad was discharged from the infirmary, a few people may have spotted her where Ares Gear had been put aside. It seems she had carved a metal panel out from it for reasons unknown and was carving something onto it with surprising care despite the faint aches her recently recovered injuries were giving her.]

[Mad's taking a soft breath here as she runs her fingers through her hair.]

Yui was rather beat up after the last fight, what with Shemhazai's cockpit crushing in on her and all. And while she didn't make much fuss about it, she is hurt enough to be forced into a bed for a while, with a few shots of painkillers to go around as well.

One of the chairs next to her bed is manned round-the clock by Madeline, once she recieved her basic care. And while occasionally late into the night Mad may drift off into sleep, or get up to use the bathroom, she is there the vast majority of the time.

Those roses that Graf used now decorate a small vase next to Yui's bed.

(So yeah, Mad/Yui post! Responses may come from both characters. Specify if you want to wait for Mad to leave, though she may of course come back later. This'll probably be the first time most people hear of their relationship.)

[Ayame walked up to Mad, arms folded as she was flanked by three of the ships strongest SS classes; Scott, Jo and Tsukasa. She had a very displeased look on her face as she approached the girl.]

Mad Caine, you need to come with us. You've threatened and assaulted members of our crew unprovoked. You're going to have to spend some time in the brig. Will you come quietly?

In the future, please remember again, to report things to us. We were lucky enough to get forewarning of certain people's actions in the last two days from Eri Kurumu and several other concerned parties. In the future, if you see someone attempting to take their life, inform security immediately. This is not a contained issue as it affects the whole crew.

Mad Caine has been brigged for a period of time until she is ready to rejoin the crew. She is allowed visitors but only for an hour a day.

The bar wasn't exactly Paradigm standards, but it would do. Roger knew all about the recent terrible trauma and bad stuff that had happened to Mad, had been told about her recent attempts to kill both herself and others, and the unfortunate fate of her black and yellow Dom, Maria.

Roger was a smart man, though. He knew it was not ever a wise choice to try to negotiate with a party that was irritated or upset unless there was no choice in it, so he waited a bit before talking with Mad. He was still in the waiting phase, letting her cool down and solidify back into a person, when the idea came to him that maybe she would want a little help cooling down.

It was with that idea that he found himself seated at the bar, motioning for the barkeep.

Whatever wounds she had were relatively minor - the fact that she managed to get away from the level of damage the Longhorn Train attack caused unscathed was nothing short of a miracle... Maria on the other hand was so much scrap - there was barely anything left to save - aside from a few internal components that would amount to nothing more than keepsakes... the Ruin had devastated her.]

[When the news was broken to Mad she didn't yell, she didn't rage... she just cried quietly.]

But she was doing her best not to cry. She was failing badly of course. The day begins at the promenade, where both old and newly-inducted (from the Jade Falcons after the battle against the Invaders) Wolf warriors have gathered wearing Clan Wolf's dress uniform. Ranna and Resnick are at the front as a message is played:

"To all citizens of the Inner Sphere do I, Aleksandr Kerensky, send greetings.

Know that I have taken the remnant of the Star League Defense Force which has remained true to its purpose beyond the boundaries of the Inner Sphere, beyond the Periphery. I have done this, neither out of disappointment with those whom we leave behind, nor out of spite or disdain, as some will say. No, we have left the Inner Sphere because we love it too much to see it destroyed. In the wake of the Usurper's coup, and the long, bitter fighting that came with it, I fear that my forces would do incalculable, possibly irreparable, harm to our society. We are sworn to ward the Star League and its subjects, not destroy it.

Thus, we have left the only homes we have ever known to place the destructive capability of this armada beyond the reach of those who would use it, not for defense, but for conquest. When the message ends, all the present clanners bow their head and utter reverently, "Seyla." They then begin to mingle, share stories and socialise with each other and whoever is present.

Lunch at the mess hall is definitely more lively than usual - Food has been prepared and arranged on the tables buffet-style. Both clanners and non-clanners have contributed to the pallet available. There are rumors that Resnick himself was responsible for one of the dishes.

A flyby!... By a Jumpship. The deck is bustling with activities as a temporarily installed large screen shows the 300m-long Jumpship that had carried Ranna here, Keen Eye, doing a high speed burn near Earth orbit, its pletora of lasers lighting up the space around it (and pointed away from the planet, of course). The feed must have been taken by one of the aerospace fighters.

Drinks are served, both alcoholic and not. The mood is jovial under the night sky.

[Mad's been getting as much practice in as she could with the Dom Tropen she borrowed from the masses of the Hangar. She's been doing her best to take it easy as much as possible due to the vaguely familiar controls... but the sheer desire to run before she could walk was all but gnawing at her.]

[With the recent incident dealt with, Hana finally returned fully on board the Chalice, Eri in tow. Though, despite a few people welcoming her back, Hana had slunk off quietly elsewhere, heading for the Arboretum. Truth be told, Hana was absolutely terrified: Not many people wished her farewell when she left and she was afraid the same would happen with her return. Had her outbursts under the thrall of the Endless damaged her relationships that badly? Had they missed her?

Arriving at the Arboretum, Hana made her way to the little spot she tended to before stopping. Now she was scared: she never told anyone to tend to the flowers. Would they be okay? Withered?]

...maybe it was a mistake...?
