[The world has been saved, hopefully for the last time in a long time. The celebrations - and the mourning - have started, and in a lot of places are still continuing. But the victory isn't the only thing to celebrate - and with a lot of help, and a lot of favours, Laura and Lily have extended an invitation to the Chalice crew, past and present, to join them. If you were nearby, chances are the invitation was hand-delivered by a dutiful Servbot.]

1. The setup
[With the looming deadline of the closing portals, things move quickly! Invitations are sent, travel is arranged, a venue is prepared. What had been the White Chalice's Arboretum - now an open-air grove in what's set to become a lush forest - is the site of the ceremony itself, while the celebrations afterwards will take place in Gucun. There's a lot to be done to make ready. Are you helping, or seeking out one of the brides beforehand?]

2. The ceremony
[It's only fitting that Captain Smith should officiate. He's waiting at an arch set up by the flowerbeds of the Arboretum, where the happy couple met, where Laura's tended her memorial to her friends from before the Chalice and to those who've passed on since. Between the Kwan daughters, Epimetheus, and a brace of Servbots you shouldn't have any trouble finding your seat, even if Xue Yi is a little preoccupied ensuring Prometheus behaves. There's some time before the wedding party arrive, to talk amongst yourselves - or with some of the other guests present, who include Laura's overwhelmed-looking parents!]

3. The reception
[Of course, the real point of a wedding is the party afterwards! There's food, drink, and music - Miki pulled some strings, and Pit's showing how Skyworld does catering. After the recent battle, perhaps this is a chance to see some long-absent faces in more peaceful circumstances, or to say goodbye. Or are you just here for the embarrassing speeches?]

[This is a joint mingle post, open to dropped and retired characters as well! For all prompts, please specify whether it's Laura/Lily you want to talk reply, or others!]

[Needless to say, Kurou is kind of kicking himself right now after what happened. Thanks to his 'kindness' Master Therion was able to come back to life and summon Yog-Sothoth. On top of all of that, someone he cared about was now dead. Yeah, he's kind of having a bad day.

He sits on the deck of the Chalice just firing round after round from both of his pistols rather absent-mindedly.]

Why did you even give me these Ennea?

[2 A bit later]

[Al appears on the comm, looking a bit better than Eibon was doing. She still looks pretty worried though.]

I know it's pointless to say anything about how tough this will be. I've seen for myself what you all can do; however, that is not my main concern.

If you do not know yet, Yog-Sothoth is connected to all points in time and space. Which means it will be impossible for us to know where it will lead us one we enter the gate. Once we pass through it we will travel throughout the entirety of every universe that exists.

[Al pauses for a moment.]

We will likely never be able to return to this universe.

[3 After Al's Announcement]

[After hearing the announcement Kurou only has one thing to say.]

...Just leave dealing with Master Therion to me.

[During the middle of the day Kurou suddenly appears on the comms looking extremely worried.]

Alright you guys, we might have a small problem. Al's bed disappeared and it might be walking around the ship. She's kicking me out of our room until I find it so I need some help.

[Wait what?]

[Completely unrelated to Kurou's problems, there seems to be a strange creature wandering the the Chalice. It's pretty small and looks like a completely normal orange slime. It approaches anything that looks remotely interesting and beings to prod it with a tentacle.]

[personal profile] the_innocent_blade

[After the surprising victory against the Anticross, Al Azif has returned to the realm of the living. After returning to the ship, she can be found in front of the wall of names once again. This time however, she's smiling. She's even holding a familiar hat.]

Thank you Azrad... I won't lose my way again.

[Meanwhile, Kurou is in the hangar, looking at the now winged Demonbane. Most of his injuries were healed thanks to a bit of time magic, but what happened during the battle was still worrying him.]

So my guns were from the seventh member of the Anticross...and I now have access to the Shining Trapezohedron... God, I don't even know what the hell that thing is.

[3/Mingle Thread/Party in the Arboretum]

[Despite some objections, Hadou Ruri has decided to throw a small celebration on the White Chalice. With Cthulhu hightailing it away from Arkham, and the Anticross members there being defeated she figured it was a good way of raising morale on the ship. Compared to the usual Hadou affair the entire thing felt a bit more...quaint. Still, there was plenty of alcohol supplied to Herb's Bar and some food is even brought onto the ship. It was more than enough to have some fun.]

(Dated to immediately after the mission/Somewhat locked to people on the mission )

[Well Al Azif just turned into hundreds of pages in front of Kurou. Thankfully the pages eventually reformed into the shape of a regular book but...that was it. It was just a regular book.. No matter how what he did it remained that way. Not responding, not snapping back at him, not telling him he was an idiot. Nothing.

The former Master of Necronomicon slammed his fist into the floor before picking up the pistols that were left behind and limping towards the elevator.]

I'll fucking destroy them all.

[Someone might want to talk some sense into him]

[2] [Dated a bit later, after the White Chalice has found it's way to the Hadou's secret underground base.]

[Sometime later Kurou could be found in the Hadou Library holding what remained of Al. It seems like he was trying to look for something, some way of restoring her. Anything.]

[Mail time! And Roads has a very special letter-from Ruri Hadou herself! And when the Hadous send you a letter, not opening it tends to end with your kidneys in an ice chest somewhere, so Roads is gonna tear it up right away, the beautifully embossed envelope ravaged quite throughly.]

Hm, so let's see...'Mr. Blackwell, amongst my grandfather's estate, this item was found, along with specific instructions to deliver it to you upon this date, and the following message...'

[Roads holds up the item in question, an ornate golden key, while he reads the note aloud.]

'I hope you enjoyed your vacation, but now the tutorial level's over.'

[His eyes fall on the book that Kouzou left him.]

[Eyes narrow.]

Son of a...

2. [Later, and places totally not related to tag #1, a weird girl can be found wandering the ship. Anachronistic clothes, a collar with a heavy padlock-If this sort of thing didn't happen all the time over here she'd deserve some serious scrutiny.]

...What a boring building.

[Tag 1 is mostly talking about the key, but the second is for meeting Eibon.]

Hey everyone Al and I were able to...finish our work in Arkham so the Princess said it'd be fine for us to get back to the Chalice. The Black Lodge seem to be looking for something before they make their next move so getting back here seemed like a good idea if we want to stop them. Besides it's never a bad thing to have a bit more help around, especially with those Kairos Aspida jerks around.

[Kurou is looking to the side like he has something he needs to get off of his chest but decides against it.]

[Later Kurou could be found preparing ammo for his newly obtained pistols. The process seemed to be quite elaborate and anyone that took a closer look would see two different magic symbols carved onto each of his hands. Both guns were placed on the worktable next to his ammo crafting station. It was pretty obvious that he was trying to hide from someone.]

[Al Azif herself was wandering the halls of the Chalice. Half getting reacquainted with things, half getting her anger out. The Grimoire did not look happy in the least and she occasionally let out a small blast of magical energy to show this. Something had put the girl in a very bad mood. ]

[After the incident with the Inspectors Kurou is learning first hand why the previous Masters of Necronomicon had such a short lifespan. The aftereffects of the imitation Lamp of Alhazred were just as devastating as a real thing. The Sorcerer could barely walk down a hallway without having to brace against the wall. His shirt was stained with blood, and he was struggling to stop himself from coughing up any more.]

So this is what the others went through...

[Meanwhile Al Azif is staring at the copy of Aeon as it began to fade away. She seems rather disappointed.]

As expected, the copy couldn't last long with a real Grimoire using it.

I'm going to be heading back to Arkham for a bit. Despite us getting lucky with the Aeon copies I know that I'm going to need Demonbane if I'm going to be fighting with the Chalice. The princess also said that they've detected another one of Al's pages back there. So hopefully we can retrieve that and come back stronger.

Roads is not having a good day. When he returns, the first thing he does is throw absolutely everything off of his desk, sweeping it to the side. Stacks of papers, pencils, drawings, Kouzou's gift, and his computer all get thrown to the floor. Roads then sits down with his heads in his hands at the now-clear desk.

He stays still for quite some time. Occasionally, he will shift a bit, folding his hands in front of him like something is trying his patience, or he will glare at that ancient tome he's cast aside.

The second curse is quiet and subdued.

[After a long day of accomplishing absolutely nothing Kurou decided to try to relax at one of the hotsprings in the resort.]

For once I'm actually glad that other parts of my world was brought over...

Great now I'm talking to myself.

[He quickly submerges himself and relaxes.]

This is a lot more soft than I imagined.

[It's a quiet night, and Roads is in the hangar, working alongside some kind of giant, robot-scale sword. There are tons of computers lying around, and everyone's favorite mad scientist is dashing back and forth between them, muttering to himself. ]

Yes...yes, just a little bit more...

Red to red, blue to blue, yellow to yellow...

[Finally, he takes a deep breath, and walks over to where two extension cords are lying on the ground.]

[He slams the two cords together! Sparks ignite, and the sword gains a new, golden edge around its normal form. Somewhere in the distance, there's a flash of lightning.]

1. Laura's room

[Visitors or passers by the day after Lily's departure will find her engaged in a strange-looking mix of tidying the place up and packing for a trip. It shouldn't be all that time-consuming a task, but it seems to be taking her a while - unsurprisingly, if you witness one of the times she stops on finding one or another item to put away or add to the packing pile, having to sit and turn it over in her hands, looking a million miles away.]

2. Network (filtered)

[Doctors, spacers, aliens - a number of people aboard find Laura getting in touch over the next few days. She doesn't waste much time on pleasantries.]

What do we have aboard for long-distance, long-term travel? What would you need?

3. Hangar

[The rest of the time, she's in the hangar.

A lot. Working in and around Lily's ship, she's there so much it's not unlikely she's sleeping there, too. The ship itself doesn't show much sign of change, but its surroundings do - computer workstations multiplying around it, cables snaking out and to and between them. The captive Pepen's cage, too, soon moves to beside the ship, its own set of cables wiring the angry golden creature in to the whole shebang. Having called amnesty on her hangar duties for a while, Laura's returning the favour by staying out from under the feet of the other techs, but that doesn't mean the buzz of activity, or the occasional stream of profanity that erupts from the ship, or the obvious frustration in her body language when she taps away at the workstation the Pepen's wired in to, don't draw attention.

Sessions with the Pepen seem to be the most frequent. Other times, she's working at the ship's controls, or waist-deep in a maintenance duct somewhere. At least one evening, she can be found dozing in the pilot's seat with a blanket wrapped around her, lit by the glow of the screens.]

[After Kurou returned to the Chalice he immediately began training with the Scimitar of Barzai. While he was able to figure out some of it's abilities after fighting it/Demonpain he wanted to make sure that he got everything down.

Despite never fighting with a sword a day in his life he found it extremely easy to wield. Like the information on how to fight with it was already in his head.]

[Later on Kurou can be found trying to form a second Scimitar of Barzai to use. However despite how many times he tried to it always ended up failing. No matter how much magical energy he used he could never form more than one. It seemed to be getting to him.]

[It seems to have bothered him enough that he's actually trying to investigate it. To do that he would need to learn about the previous owner. Thus Kurou suddenly appears on the comms.]

So um...can anyone tell me things about this Azrad guy.
the_innocent_blade: (So what am I looking at here?)

[When Kurou appears on screen he looks a bit beat up. It seems like someone had been physically abusing him. He definitely was not bringing any attention to it though..]

So everyone I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that we found some of Al's pages the bad news is tha-

[He's pushed aside by a very angry looking Grimoire.]

[And he's already pulling her back.]

A-anyways I'll need some help retrieving the pieces so that we can turn them back into Grimoire pages.

[One way or another you've been roped into helping the Magus.]

According to the angry book it can take the form of whatever is on our mind when we encounter it so we should be careful. If you can help it just think about things we can deal with.

[It's a bright, sunny day. And where's Roads? Shut up inside the hangar, tapping away at a computer, pouring over printouts in the dark. Typical.]

[Newtypes of the ship-Roads has asked for a series of practice 1v1 mecha duels with you all. And so now it's the Zweilicht, loaded up with all its equipment, standing off against your unit of choice.]

Ah, thanks for doing this. It should be a big help.

[Outside the gym, there's a sign that reads: "DARE YE CHALLENGE THE MASTER?!!!!", with a small picture of Roads below it. Inside, he's practicing punching a bag. There's some intense concentration going into each and every punch-it's a solid thirty seconds between each hit.]
[personal profile] the_innocent_blade
1: [It's the middle of the night. While the Chalice is usually somewhat quiet at this time loud thumps occasionally ring through the ship, breaking the silence. It continues to get worse as the night goes on. Anyone that decides to check it out will run across a strange white haired man fighting with a very large demonic shadow. From how beat up he looked, the man didn't seem to be winning.]

2: [From physical training to magical training, Kurou was definitely putting in a lot of work. Alone on the deck he seemed to be trying to cast some basic spells with...varying levels of success. Most of the time however he was sent flying after botching the spell.]

Goddammit, it shouldn't be this hard!

3: [Al Prompt]

[Al Azif seems to have found the memorial wall. For a brief moment the usually...bratty Grimoire actually looked sad as she placed her hand on one specific name.]

[After that mission, Gurren is a freaking WRECK, with blast marks, a half-melted shoulder, and a huge slash right down the front. Kamina is unhurt, at least, beyond the normal bruises from getting bounced around the cockpit in a fight, and what kind of professional manly man would let those slow him down. He is curious about something though.]

[After what felt like hours of negotiation with Hadou Ruri Kurou was able to talk her (With the help of a few Chalice members and her butler.) into letting him serve as the pilot of Demonbane. As much as the Princess disliked it their situation had gotten dire, although she was able to convince everyone that keeping Demonbane in Arkham was a smarter idea in case the Black Lodge did make another attack on the city. Kurou would be able to summon the Deus Machina when he needed it. This also meant that Kurou would be working with the Chalice thanks to now officially being a drone in the Hadou Group.]

1. [Introduction]

Figured I should introduce myself at the very least, I'm Daijuuji Kurou apparently I'm to work with all of you while looking for the Black Lodge. Apparently I'm also supposed to be the pilot of Demonbane and the Master of Necronomicon.

2. [Al Azif prompt.]

[The pink haired grimoire was now back on the Chalice she seemed to be making herself at home staring at whatever new mechs might have joined the ship since she left.]

This won't do at all.

[It had been 24 hours since one Daijuuji Kurou had been hired to look for a grimoire. The penniless PI had spent the last day scouring the streets of Arkham searching for any kind of clue. Alas his search turned up nothing. Every antique bookstore was a bust, even when he found the occasional real occult shop none of them had any grimoires. He wondered if he would have taken this job if he hadn't been paid in advance for it.]

Maybe I should try asking Armitage...or just breaking back into Miskatonic.

[Suddenly, just as he was about to give up for the day there is an antique bookstore in front of him.]

That wasn't there a second ago...maybe I'm losing it. I mean I am talking to myself right now.

[Deciding to at least give this place a quick glance before ending his search for the day Kurou enters the bookstore. It was surprisingly tidy and looked really well stocked. The store felt a lot bigger on the inside. He hadn't seen a collection of books this large since he dropped out of Miskatonic.]

Hellooooooooo, is anyone here?
