The astute will notice a familiar pink machine returning alongside the crew...and with it, its pink-haired pilot. She steps out of the cockpit as it lands, a tube of candies in hand...and her Zeonic outfit nowhere to be found.

"Ahh...I missed this place. The people, the fun, exotic machines, and most of all, the atmosphere...Space is neat, but nothing beats natural oxygen and gravity on your soul."

She stretches and looks around for people to talk with. Does anyone want to fill her in on what she's missed over the past few months?

It's not long before Cynthia is up to her old tricks again, commandeering the lounge TV while it's not in use for her VR helmet and modified Overbattler game. It's undergone several new stages and suits since it was last seen, and curiously, while there's still some iconic Zeon suits available, the faction's name and logo seem to be absent from each and every one. New to the system are small, powered armors that seem oddly similar to Kamen Rider outfits, as well as a flight-capable, faceless Magical Girl character.

Cynthia herself is fooling around with a Super Robot, called the "Sorcerian Z". It's a fairly shameless knockoff of Mazinger Z, though it uses a large Zweihander as its primary weapon. Feel free to challenge her, or join her in taking down waves of mooks. Or even just chat, it probably won't throw off her game.

It's highly likely that no one's been in Char and Cynthia's room since the Red Comet left for the colonies, but eventually, someone comes to it seeking its remaining recipient. A disc and video player is sitting on her bed...those curious enough to hit play will recieve a recorded message:

"This shouldn't be happening, something is going terribly wrong. Zeon's got no need to push its power to other colonies, or start acting like a bunch of tyrannical space nazis again. Commander Char, himself, seems different since the fall of Sirocco, he seems to blame himself for the damage done to Kamille, to Big si-, er Lady Haman. I won't let such a great man fall to the coldness of hatred and wrath...so I'm joining him on his return to Zeon. I also seem to have developed a bit of a big sis complex regarding the Princess...I can't bring myself to leave her be to grow up in the twisted world I see coming. Things have to change...I'll do my best to watch over all of them, while you guys keep the earth safe from aliens and things. I won't let our friends go astray, I promise.

This was a difficult decision to make, and I'm sorry for being so secretive about my decision. I know there's a lot of people onboard who would rather I stick around...I'll be back once this madness ends, I promise. In return, none of you better kick the bucket before then. I'll try to keep in contact as much as I can, but communication is still really limited. Everyone, thank you for everything you've done for me. I won't waste the life you saved from the damn Overdevil, I promise. I'll use it to make sure the future is a bright one!

((OOC: Cynthia will be following Char and Haman off ship to Zeon. She's taken the Dominator with her. She's left her game systems hooked up in the lounge still, as a sign of respect, as well as a promise that she'll return eventually. Or maybe she just wants to keep her high score out there for people to try to beat. I'm sorry for the lateness of this...work keeps me way too busy and likes to kill my muse more than not.))

[A familiar Black and Red machine has returne to the Chalice. Its everyone's unfavorite morally questionable Mercenary. The moment he steps out of his cockpit he's stretching quite a bit as he goes over the costs of repairs and ammo - in comparison to the pay he's been getting. He grimaces.]

I guess I'm probably going to be short on money again...

[He turns around to give you a rather resigned look.]

What? You surprised I came back?

[Ryou seems to be kicking it back on a sofa with a pile of rather aged books next to him. After dealing with the Festum, suffering an orbital drop and losing plenty of pay, relaxing with a glass of fine wine and some good books felt like the right thing to do... which begs the question, if he's so tight on money, how can he afford that wine and those books?]

[He glances in your direction for a moment, but doesn't say anything, going back to his reading and his gentle sipping from thee glass.]

[CLASSY SWAG- I mean... are you going to talk to him?]

[3] [Locked to Zeon Personnel + anyone with Colony based contacts/info networks]

[To anyone who has access to any Zeon related military networks... or has contacts in the Colonies, one would pick up on some news of a black and red machine taken to liberally reducing various Zeon patrols nearby neutral colonies to scrap and corpses.]

[The attacks were intensely vicious and seemed to be unprovoked at first glance. Then when one considers a notice Char had put up not too long ago... maybe the Colonies got nervous and needed something to keep the Zeons away as much as possible.]

[In this case, as much as possible happens to be large amounts of agression, carving messages to keep away from the colonies and leaving them where any other patrols to find. If anything this would probably put Axis on edge.]

[Also, that particular machine from the few recordings of the attacks and the absolutely miniscule accounts of what few survivors were left of the unfortunate patrols happens to be in the hangar, and the pilot is merely looking over some data for it.]

Haman stirred slowly, she couldn't remember what had happened. The trip back to Axis, and the return journey to the Chalice had all happened while she was slept, her body desperately healing the damage battle had caused. She had no idea how long she had been here, and what dastardly political moves had been made during her down time.
Her hands gripped the starched sheets, confused. Her first thought was only This is not my bed. quickly followed by. Where is Mineva? She sat up quickly, cried out and fell back down into her pillow, biting her bottom lip to stifle. Looking up at the ceiling, she found she did not recognize it, but the smell and sounds the Chalice's Medical section where known enough to her from her many trips visiting Char, and that alone was the only thing that settled the sick fear in her stomach. Closing her eyes tightly, straining to remember, but finding little to answer her questions.

[Cynthia's in the commons, game visor over her head. She's hooked it up to a monitor so that her avatar's screen can be shown off to everyone, and she's racking up quite the high score! But this isn't your standard version of Overbattler. The machines, the stages, and even the story mode seem to be completely modified, and now they represent a retelling of the One Year War. The catch? Cynthia's playing through the Zeonic story mode, currently making an assault on White Base in a Gouf. She's scoring pretty high, although people who'd actually witnessed the battle would probably note that the White Base had less Core Fighters, Guncannons, and Guntanks than the numerous ones that she's destroying.

The other catch? There's a 2nd player helmet on the ground, and an opponent can join in at any time!]

There was only so much she could put off by escaping into the world of games. The simple fact was that one of her best friends onboard was in a coma, while she'd failed hard to protect her big sis from ending up in an injured and unready state. Others will note Cynthia in the infirmary, checking up frequently on both Kamille and Haman.

[1] Haman took a deep breath before she turned on the console that sat on the old desk in her makeshift office. This moment had been a long time coming, and the council who waited on the other side of the conference waited with little patients for the pink haired Regent's words.

[2] Some time after the adrenaline afterglow had faded from Haman's heart she might be found in the mess hall, sitting across the table from Mineva, their plates pushed away so make room. Mineva had string around her fingers, woven together just so that when Haman pinched it here and pulled it around, the whole designed changed and transferred easily to her hands.
An old children's game Haman had almost forgotten from her own youth, and now she played it with Mineva.

[Kamille was feeling fantastic today. Yes, the Chalice's standing with the feds dropped even further thanks to the fucking terrorist, but that was a drop in the water compared to what he was really excited about: The return of Cynthia Lane and Gainer Sanga from the clutches of the OverDevil. For once, he felt like things were going his way, and he intended to express this in a creative fashion.]

[When the Cafeteria is finally open again, it's decked out in full party mode, the bluenett Newtype pulling out all the stops in creating enough food to fuel the occasion. A rather obvious, if somewhat plain, banner hangs from the ceiling]

"WELCOME BACK, CYNTHIA AND GAINER"

[In all of this, Kamille finds himself lying on a bench that he dragged to a corner, the high of success finally washing over him as fatigue set in. Soul-crushing, Death-warmed-over, Why-am-I-still-awake fatigue.]

[While the festivities are in full swing, Kamille has sent you a message to meet him back in the same empty storage unit they met in last time. He has apparently already slipped out of the party himself at this point, using the excuse of finally turning in for the evening to get away while everyone was distracted. What could he want?]

[OOC: This is a mingle post to celebrate the return of Gainer and Cynthia. Kamille put a lot of effort into making this happen (which may or may not have involved ~~dragging unwilling victims~~ finding volunteers to help him do it), so you might have to seek him out to harass him for pushing himself too hard. AGAIN.]

1. So...we defeated the Overdevil. Dad...President Kids is gone. And the SR should be disbanding. That's one less set of enemies for the Chalice, right? But it feels like I missed a ton of stuff. Anyone want to fill me in on what's been happening around here?

2.[A pink, rubberlike mecha is back in the hangar...and with it, a pink-haired, scantily clad girl. You'll find her looking around the hangar.]

Oh wow, it feels like I was just in here yesterday, but there's a ton more new mechs around! Just how long was I gone...?

1) Haman seems rather busy. If you see her in the hallway you might notice a paper-wrapped parcel cradled in her arms, a table pc in the other, and a look of determination on her face. There where things to do it seemed. A few of her Zeon guards followed her with what looked like a roll of red fabric. If you need something, you better make it quick.

Haman rapped her knuckles on Kamille's door rapidly. She had a few thing that needed to be said before they made this official. She looked down at the package in her arms, and smiled, feeling quite proud of herself.
She knocked again impatiently. It's not nice to keep the Regent waiting.

Cynthia can be found in the Hangar, almost skipping. She'd found a new toy, and despite the best efforts of one Setsuna F. Seiei, managed to capture the machine mostly intact. Now she just needed to find a mechanic willing to work on the outdated, yet still very viable machine....

It was this recent announcement about moving in to take out Adventus once and for all. For him, this was the "Final Boss", and what's the one thing a gamer is going to go before fighting the boss he knows is coming?

And it's not that Cynthia needed it herself, but, between him and her, the two of them could probably bring Adette up to speed in actual Overman combat. Like HELL they were bring a lv 5 into a lv 85 fight!

Hayato is in the White Chalice Commons area, setting up a VR kit of the type Gainer always seems so fond of and looking a bit like your grandad when confronted with a DDR pad. Being aloof and mysterious is all well and good, but every once in a while you've got to remind the younger generation of their place. And truth be told he missed piloting. This seemed like a relatively harmless way to indulge in a bit of nostalgia.

By the time his challenger got there, he was pretty sure he had everything set up right.

[ Everyone who sees Char today will find him in the mess hall. He's been sitting here since lunch - which was five hours ago - and hasn't moved yet. He's been reading a fairly sizable stack of papers found in a manila folder, which, if anyone tried reading over his shoulder, would just see a bunch of designs and a few words that wouldn't make sense unless you tried reading the entire thing. Two words, however, would stick out: 'Psychoframe Project.'

[Well, this was a fine barrel of fish that Cynthia wished she'd been in. Though she had relative freedom to move about the ship, she had to be escorted everywhere. She couldn't get a proper line through to Kids Munt to ask the questions that'd been plaguing her, her game buddy was hospitalized, and she's surrounded by wierd people. She's not allowed to leave in Dominator, either... and to top it off, they're slowly starving her!

People may notice the quiet, somewhat mopey, pink-haired girl around the ship, as well as her escorts...but she won't notice you at all. Cynthia's doing her best to cope with stress by losing herself in artificial reality, whether it be simulators or her own portable gaming device.

[[This is Gainer... Gainer got whooped... Well... he put up a good fight though but... All the same, Cynthia kicked his ass.

Worse than that, he lost his record thanks to her. Sure, he'd "lost" in a few missions, rather, he pulled out because King Gainer wasn't working. This time... he'd lost to a gamer, and therefore, lost his record, and title as Game Champ.

Secondarily, he was physically injured, and bandaged in the sick bay, laying in a bed and generally not being awake.

And he still hadn't seen Cynthia's face either, so there went that chance.

But, it's not as if visitors aren't allowed. He'll wake up eventually, if Cynthia doesn't wake him up first though he probably won't be glad to see anyone as he sits

[[Gainer has been made of rage face and unsociable tendencies since he got back.

This is nothing new, aside the frustration. Shortly after getting out of King Gainer, he was right in his room. Though, considering who shared his room, that wasn't going to be the place for him to play, so, while everyone is busying themselves with repairs, and preparations, and possibly panic and confusion...

Gainer just looks for a place to play his game. He'll try the atrium until people get to bothering him too much, in which he'll move to a lounge.

Fortunately, playing his game comes with a screen, which he doesn't mind turning on so people can watch him play OverBattler.

The stage is set on the deck of a large ship, and enemies keep dropping onto the ship's hull.

Yes, this is very familiar.

However, he doesn't play the stage conventionally. He only attacks the enemies through melee, and the moment he offs one, he pulls back in a defensive pose. He repeats this, over, and over, and over. He keeps aiming for a higher score and a shorter time.
