Tuning up
[After the incident with the Beastmen and the sorting out of the issues with the Moonrace, Mad's been working in the hangar - surprisingly though, it wasn't with the Lambda.]
Alright... where'd those notes go?
[Mad was more or less helping with any maintainence and repairs anyone else needed before going to help check over her own personal machine - she also has a few notes that fellow mechanics had helpfully made for anybody working with tech they're not sure about. She backs off from an open panel and wipes her forehead carefully.]
Think I got this right?

"Aff, probably. You are Madeline Caine, quiaff?" The elder clanner said as he clambered out of his own elemental armor, having just lent its laser as a stopgap welding torch.

[Mad gives the tech in front of her a rather annoyed look... its like a lot of the jury-rigging she tried wouldn't take when regular repairs failed. It took everything she had not to punch the damn thing.]

[Mad had a small smile on her face.]
Let me guess... what she said was along the lines of 'She is a stubborn little pup... for a freebirth.'
[The blonde stretched tiredly before tapping one of the tools she had in her hands against the side of the open panel.]
We may as well salvage whatever we can then. Though... that's only my opnion.

"Hmm...That would normally be so, but my Clan has leaned on the Wolves far more than is fair. Ah, but I noticed ours is not the only vessel in bad repair. Did the negotiations with the Moonrace go that badly?"
no subject
"Beastmen" they called themselves.

But that former one I'll never understand at all.

Honestly I'm a lot happier working right now.
no subject
"I am not so sure."
no subject
[Mad looks over the notes and indeed - she screwed up on a few wires and needed to reconfigure a few modules to boot.]
This should go... here... gah!
[She jerked back at a sudden SNAP from the panel.]
The hell?! Who the fuck turned this damn thing on?! I put up fucking signs not to mess with it 'til I'm done!!

A technician yells an apology back, a sheepish expression on his face.
no subject
[Mad shakes her fist at the man... seriously, if she were unluckier she could've died.]
Fuck..
no subject
She studies Mad for a while, then... chuckles.
"It is, however, good to see you so lively again."
no subject
[Mad's carefully stretching her arm in front of her. Her smile fading a little... yeah, that beating she took a while back pretty much sucked.]
no subject
"Live and learn, quiaff?"
no subject
[She claps her hands together to get back into the flow.]
There's still a lot to take care of too.
no subject
Ranna bends slightly again to take a look at the panel.
Completing the Circle of Clanner Characters...
"You seem to have picked up a knack for Clan Omnitech."
no subject
It's pretty different from Mobile Suits and a lot of the other mechs here though.
[Mad's trying to figure out how to word things.]
Its... complicated in some places and a lot simpler in others.
no subject
He frowns in thought. "It is interesting...Techs and Mechwarriors are traditionally segregated in Clan society, yet some of the finest Mechwarriors aboard the White Chalice, you among them, are a combination of both."
Matthew grins. "I suppose you could call them...Techwarriors, quiaff?"
no subject
[Mad gives Matthew a very VERY stern look. Remember when she threatened to beat you to a pulp that long time ago when you drank with Ranna, Resnick and herself? Thankfully it changes to a small grin.]
I'll let you off this time though.

[Richard suddenly appearing like a ninja from behind is a strange sight, but then, did anyone really expect him up and about yet?]
Of course, the best way to tell would be just to try it out.
no subject
[Mad shuffled a little in place - as if feeling the sting of a particularly embarassing memory and double checked her work.]
no subject
[Richard's just teasing as he lightly nudges Mad's shoulder.]
Still, think this ship'll be back to her best anytime soon?
no subject
[Mad scratches the back of her head with a sheepish grin before looking back at the work.]
She probably will. Hell.. we still don't know a lot about her.
no subject
[Its the tone of it that took him by surprise.]
no subject
You know that the doctors don't know how a lot of the medical stuff we have in the infirmary works? 'Too advanced' they said.

[Mad ponders the whole situation though...]
I honestly got no idea who built this thing. Maybe ask the bitch queen?
[Ah yes, Mad's name for Ayame.]
no subject
[Richard pauses for a second, and then realises it.]
You mean Doctor Jin? But she's a nurse, even if the first officer. Why would she know more about a starship?
no subject
Would you really try asking the Captain? Would you?

Guess I'll just have to stay in the dark on this one, huh?
no subject
no subject
[Its funny, looking at how much humility Mad is showing... she really has changed.]
no subject
[Kamille smiles as he says this, his tone jesting as he looks through his tablet.] Still, those fucking Inspectors really wrecked our shit didn't they? Setsuna had to send the 00 back up to have it repaired, and its still not back yet.
[He looks up at Mad] So what kind of nonsense did you get into with the moonrace delegation?
no subject
[She saw the mess that happened on 'Fairy boy's Gundam. All she could say was she's actually glad she didn't have to work on it.]
Eh, you know. Saw some weird Mobile Suits, blew up some things piloted by animal people. Just another day here.
no subject
Par for the course, is it? Well, as long as the job is done and we don't have to deal with the Moonrace going to war with us, I'm happy. [He's taking a seat on the floor at this for a quick break.]
