[1, possibly battle log]

Various places all around the world came under attack by Primeval Force clones. These units are copies of all kinds of machines used by humanity, all made from Primeval Force energy - they can be destroyed, but they take a lot of punishment and have more destructive power than the things they copied!

Once the initial attacks are over - some of them repelled, for others the units retreated on their own as if toying with humans, uneasy silence falls upon Earth Sphere. How much more time will pass until another such attack? How long can humanity survive such an ordeal?

How do you react to this? All the while, the titanic avatar of Primeval Force itself watches from space, surrounded by legions of lesser mooks that annihilate anyone that tries to come close.

[2, frontdated a day or two]
"It was a pleasure having you on board."

"Now git off! Off me ship, I tell you! I'm giving you 24 hours to get your stuff away from White Chalice!"

"Umm. What the captain is trying to say is that he and the XO came up with a plan. It's unlikely that Primeval Force can be defeated in conventional combat, but it can be contained."

"White Chalice itself will serve as containment. Ayame already left to retrieve the Primeval Force generator which we will use as a trap. In the meantime, we are removing non-essential parts of the ship such as the arboretum or living quarters, and reinforcing the rest."

"So... this is good-bye. But I hope we can count on your assistance one last time, to break through Primeval Force's copies and reach the main avatar. Then we will either contain it in White Chalice for good, or if that's not enough, destroy it while it's contained within."

"Hey! Who told you to get rid of the minigolf course? I'm the captain, I'm not moving from the bridge!"

You managed to pick up survivors from Kairos Aspida. There aren't many... but even a few is better than nothing. Surprisingly for absolutely no one, they are devastated and not really in a talkative mood. But if you insist you can have a short conversation with them.

"Why did it have to... Wate, Henrika? Fuck!"

Also look who is among the survivors - isn't it Shinra himself! Though it turns out Shinra is not his name, just a nick he insisted everyone used. Evan Cooper, his eyes no longer shining blue, for the first time in many years is no longer a puppet of Primeval Force. Now he is truly free. And he is fully aware of everything he has done while Primeval Force's slave.

So when you see him, he is like this.

[Everyone. Kairos Aspida has made its move, a transmission soon hijacks as many frequencies on the Chalice as it can. A message that is inescapable, one that will be heard no matter what. In a way there was a sense of Deja Vu with this moment, for when Kairos Aspida first appeared, a transmission such as this had been heard. A declaration of intent. Their mission made clear. This would be no different. Once more the familiar sight of the bridge of the Bastion of Insolence is on screen. There was an air of tension in the bridge,Orbrey was shaking in his seat, looking anxiously between his fellows and the Captain. Maura gave Zyvan a nod before the grizzled Captain finally spoke.]

To those aboard the White Chalice, to all who are receiving this broadcast. I am Alessio Hieronymus Zyvan, Captain of the Kairos Aspida warship Bastion of Insolence. I pray that you are all listening to what I have to say... for the blood of many will be on your hands if you are not.

[Zyvan took in a harsh and ragged breath, downright glaring towards the screen. Disappointment, anger, sadness, resignation. There were many things that could be felt from the man's gaze.]

I am not Petar nor Biff... I do not have their gift for words... but my meaning will be clear regardless.

[He motions to Maura and soon smaller image appears on the broadcast. A fleet of Kairos Aspida ships and airborne troops. Right. Over. Gucun.]

It has become clear that there can be no compromise anymore between our two causes. My communications officer is transferring a set of coordinates which you will bring the White Chalice to, as well as the date we expect you to arrive. I know that you value your friends as well as the lives of innocent people... but it goes without saying what will happen to them should you not appear.

[The captain lowers his head and adjusts his hat, solemn in his posture and expression. Regret hanging from every word.]

I am sorry it had to come to this... but what happened to Petar can never be forgiven. One way or another, whether you fight us to the end or it becomes our last stand, the conflict between our two sides will end.

I will see you at the battlefield.

[The transmission ends. Any attempts to contact both Gucun and Kairos Aspida have been completely jammed.]

(OoC: The above is a Mingle/general reaction Post.)

[Zyvan had adjourned to the officer's lounge on his ship. Admittedly he had long allowed all members of his crew access so long as it was left in order. It seemed less and less people had come to relax in this now lonely room. Tatianna was undergoing several checks with the doctors and technicians, his bridge crew thus could not leave their posts, and the pilots under his command were all preparing for the battle ahead.]

And so it begins. Our last battle with the Chalice... This is not how at all I imagined it to be...

Can we really say we are ready for this?

[Finally, White Chalice arrived in Orb. We will be here for a while, so make yourselves comfortable! Fortunately the oceanic country is a peaceful and prosperous one, so you can spend this time in comfort. Not to mention the high class hotel that was booked specifically for us to reside in - covering a lot of ground, with many facilities and easy access to nearby malls, what luxury! There's a giant Christmas tree in the lobby to put everyone in festive mood, and even though the climate is not exactly what you'd call winter-like, Orb mobile suits are flying around the place and showering it with snow a few times every day. Talk about dedication. Or wastefulness.]

[1 - general Christmas thread, mingling encouraged]

[The Christmas party will be a large and opulent one, with delicious food and plenty of important-looking people in fine clothing. Feel free to join in - or experience the holiday on your own pace, especially since there is so many things to do! The whole shebang will last for more than just the Christmas days, so feel free to spread responses around time-wise rather than making everything happen at once.

Enjoy the festivities! Also Kairos Aspida is there, so if you want to talk to particular people, see below.]

[Scattered through the very same mall were the Crew - both pilots and members of the ship itself - of the Bastion of Insolence (Plus one - the Captain of the Brachos Class Cruiser which had been present on the ambush). Whether you encounter them eating, shopping or just otherwise messing around at an arcade or skating rink or something. You'll bump into them. Despite being clad in full uniform they're acting like ordinary people rather being ruthless or cold or cruel or vicious. They interacted with each other with the warmth and ease of camaraderie and friendship - light shoves, noogies, jokes and boasts with grins all around - or in one case just looking grumpily out of place as everyone's all cheery around them.]

Suddenly, White Chalice starts to change course. What's going on? Maybe Dan can explain as he suddenly explains?

"Everyone, we just received an urgent message. And this time it's from Kairos Aspida!"

Hey, Kairos Aspida was keeping it quiet for a while now. Aren't you curious what are they up to?
Checking any major news channel will tell you.

The broadcast shows you many small villages and settlements. Settlements that were in a poor situation - lacking food, water, medical aid, suffering from bandit attacks. And now? Now it's all fixed. Because of Kairos Aspida - footage shows grateful people, sometimes even crying, as KA brings in supplies, KA doctors cure the sick, and KA ships float above towns like watchful and ominous guardians.

"You have been an incredible help to many settlements, all across the Americas. But many of our viewers hope your involvement will not end there. What do you have to say?" A reporter inteviews a person whom you will find annoyingly familiar.

"You are correct. My organisation received requests for aid from many - and we will become the shield for all of them. In time, starting with the most needy, we will not withhold our help from anyone who requires it."

"Speaking of needy, you must be aware of the recent situation in Arkham city..."

"Yes. A terrible tragedy happened there, but we will minimize its impact. Kairos Aspida relief squads have already been mobilizes and humanitarian aid is arriving as we speak."

"Just aid? There is gossip that White Chalice is there as well."

"Now is not the time to fight, but aid the needy. White Chalice should learn that lesson - it is its presence, the ship's and its crew, that caused most of the suffering."

"Oh, how is that?"

"I know from trusted sources that aggressors who attacked Arkham focused their assault on White Chalice units. They attacked because White Chalice forces were there, and the situation escalated."

"Weren't they there to defend the civilian population?"

"I do not condemn their good intentions, if that is what they were. But I do condemn ineptitude. It would have been much better if they focused only on relief and efforts to evacuate the city as fast as possible. Fighting for the sake of fighting will only bring more ruin. It is not what our Earth needs."

"The plan born of desperation and utter lunacy fails. Char Aznable... no - Casval Rem Deikun: what motivated you? Why did you have to do this?"

"Speaking of which."

Petar Vukoja looked at the other Kairos Aspida commander present in the room - Inessa Alkaev.

"You killed him, you didn't try to capture him or even let him go, you just killed him in cold blood."

"Since we jumped back in time, everyone's been making bad decisions. First Captain Zyvan, now you. Please tell me Inessa, what is going on here?"

White Chalice receives a transmission. No, everyone in the world receives a transmission. The unknown force who appeared after the Inspectors' last stand have technology powerful enough to send this to everyone in Earth Sphere at the same time.

The feed shows an inside of a ship's bridge - a very advanced looking one. You can see someone who must be the captain, standing there sternly and wordlessly, half of his face mutilated horribly.

Behind him, three other people who somehow seem important as well.

But it's a young, modestly-dressed man with long hair who does all the talking.

"Everyone. People of Earth - please listen to what I have to say!"

"Two hundred years from now on, Earth faces destruction. Our beautiful planet could not endure so many cataclysms, those that were no fault of humanity, and regrettably those that were. But not all is lost - the future may be changed! We are here to ensure that. We left our homes and families behind to jump to the past - your present, to change the course of history."

"We are Kairos Aspida. You may call us a non-government organisation, but we have neither political influence nor monetary gain on our minds, only well being of humanity and Earth itself. Thanks to efforts of Earth's most brilliant minds, we hold in our hands incredible energy, Primeval Force. Mastering this Force is what allowed us to jump back in time. It is much more powerful than anything you are familiar with."

The feed changes into live footage: an army of unknown-looking robots, accompanied by different units flying in the sky, levitating near the ground, and much larger non-humanoid ones that walk the earth. The camera moves up, to show a fleet of capital ships surrounding a familiar, massive hulk of what must be the flagship.

Is this supposed to be a demonstration of military might? The feed switches back to the bridge.

"Technology we brought from our present - your future, will allow us to avert the sad fate our Earth has faced. No, more than just that: we will create a new world, a safe world, one where humans of the Earth Sphere are not afraid of hunger, of disease, of violence inflicted by aliens, monsters or fellow man. I am Petar Vukoja, the leader of Kairos Aspida expedition, and I talk to you from the bridge of our ship, Bastion of Insolence. I reach out my hand to you, and beg you to take it! Let us create a better future, together. Together we are Kairos Aspida, the shield to protect Earth from ravages of time!"

"In return we ask you of only one thing, to return what was stolen from us. You are familiar with a heavy carrier White Chalice - it is Kairos Aspida property, stolen by a treacherous woman you know under the name Ayame Jin. An ex-Kairos Aspida member, she is deceitful and selfish. She is not to be trusted - do not offer shelter nor aid to her, or to those who follow her. You will end up with your back stabbed. Help us retrieve White Chalice instead, and our gratitude shall be eternal."

"As for those who are crew of White Chalice itself - I know you are watching, and I have this to say."

Petar leans in closer to the camera. Uncomfortably close - all the more unnerving that his expression does not change one bit.

"Follow not Ayame Jin's orders, nor those of her puppets. Kairos Aspida realizes that her words may have sounded noble, even though in reality she was manipulating you - and for that, we forgive you. Stop listening to her and we will be friends, all fellow humans working for a common good."

"Oppose us, and you will not stand a chance."

[The one-sided transmission ends. Reactions/comments?]

"Where do I start. So it finally comes to this."

Following the Kairos Aspida transmission, Ayame Jin makes a ship-wide announcement of her own. She seems to have calmed down somewhat, but is still visibly shaken.

"What you just heard is true. Both me and White Chalice are from the future. This is why it has unique technology unavailable anywhere else in the Earth Sphere, such as the teleporters."

"What Petar is not telling you is that Kairos Aspida is a tyrannical ruler. Yes, they united the whole planet under one rule and provided everyone with basic necessities, but they did so by sacrificing a lot of individual freedom and civil liberties. For example, in the future everyone's profession is determined by the government. Individual countries are not even allowed to maintain their own military forces, instead they must rely on Kairos Aspida on protection."

"This is why when I heard of Kairos Aspida plans to return back in time and conquer Earth two hundred years earlier, I had enough. I betrayed them. I managed to take control of their at the time flagship, White Chalice, and steer it back two hundred years into the past. HALO was reverse-engineered from White Chalice's technology, an effort to prevent the Second Impact from happening. It failed of course, but I think... the flow of time has been changed already. There was no HALO or Adventus in my timeline's past. Inspectors also wrecked the planet badly when they came, but you defeated them instead."

"Obviously I have no intention of giving White Chalice back to Kairos Aspida, and Captain Smith agrees with my decision. I hope world leaders will find Petar's tale hard to believe. White Chalice will have trouble with supplies if suddenly all our allies decide to side with Kairos Aspida instead."

"If you have any questions, ask me in person."

[This is the prompt for people who indeed, have questions to ask of Ayame.]
