You know... somehow, I always suspected it would end like this.

Primeval Force was destroyed. The heart of it was cast into the sun by the White Chalice's teleportation system, and even then, Ichitaka managed to rescue the Captain and Dan. In the end, Primeval Force... was trapped inside Bismuth's body, where it was destroyed.

He wouldn't want me to grieve at his passing. A death like that is something that every Valhallan strives for. Dying to save the Earth Sphere... was his decision, and in the end, I believe he was happy. He was a warrior, a hero, and my friend.

I promised to tell his story, so I will. I'm going to write a book, about all my experiences from the last year. If any of you have the time, I'd like to talk to you to get the stories from before I joined, as well. An oral history of the White Chalice.

...If there's anything you'd prefer I leave out, then tell me that, as well.

Well. It's official now - Magdalena has been selected as the heir to Ruba's throne. Technically she's still just a princess, but our father isn't really in good enough health to function as a leader, so she's already taking over a lot of his day-to-day responsibilities, and no doubt putting the early phases of her grand master plan into motion.

I feel... relieved, mostly. The details of succession have been worked out, I got all the paperwork in order, now I can put it out of my mind for now. No worrying about getting the upper hand on my siblings, no worrying about having to produce an heir, no more bloody space genies. I can focus one hundred percent on the Primeval Force situation - and as desperate as said situation is, I'm feeling rather good about it. Bismuth and I have been practicing together, so we should easily be able to produce the Negaforce Saber again for the upcoming battle.

A year ago, I wouldn't have imagined myself as a warrior fighting to save humanity, but in all honesty, I think I'm much more suited to this than I was for the life of a king.

I can't help but suspect there were better ways I could have handled that wish.

At least we won't have any more invulnerable villains, though.

Well. That's the end of that, I suppose.

For those who weren't present, I am no longer in line for the throne of Ruba. Really, when it comes down to it, the nation will be in much better hands with Magdalena than me. And don't worry, Isaac, I made sure that she'll take care of your family in my place.

I feel... relieved, I suppose. I don't have to worry about the succession contest anymore. I can just do what I want to do for once in my life. And, well, as it so happens, that's staying here with all of you.

That's not a problem, is it? I'll basically be doing what I was before, but instead of helping out as some sort of advance payment for future political gain, I'd just be doing it because it's the right thing to do.

Okay, so I must confess that I have been... omitting certain details of the truth up until now. Let's go ahead and set the record straight, yes?

I am indeed the prince of Ruba, and I am indeed in competition for the throne. Every promise I've made for our aid, I fully intend to uphold.

The thing is... Ruba isn't particularly big. Okay, it's tiny. It's the smallest independent space colony in the Earth Sphere. So, at present, there isn't a great deal to give.

Once I am king, I will be devoting 100% of my time, energy, and passion towards expanding the nation in population, resources, and renown. I had already begun this process before we met - my mission away from home is to acquire alliances, contacts, and resources for Ruba.

The very moment it is in my power to do so, I shall repay all debts my people owe. Until then, I would be honored if you would permit me to continue fighting alongside you in the name of a peaceful future for our world.

It is as he said! As Prince Leopold's formally-sworn knight and battle comrade, I shall devote myself to the protection of Ruba and the Earth Sphere, such that both may someday have the chance to propser in peace! Here, I shall act as a sword, willing to lay down my life in defense of the greatest or least among us!
not_actually_king: (Now if you'll excuse me for one moment)
[personal profile] not_actually_king
Sooo, I suppose you've met my sister now!

For a bit of background, I confess I haven't been entirely forthcoming about my motivations. I, along with my four older siblings, am on a quest issued by our father, to seek potential resources, connections and alliances for Ruba, the most successful among us to be chosen as his successor. The charming young lady from the battle with the beastmen was the eldest, Princess Magdalena... and yes, she's more or less always been like that.

Not to say that I'm demanding a formal alliance with the White Chalice in exchange for my assistance! Bismuth and I are tagging along because we think you're rather emphatically fighting the good fight. If you'd like to offer your support to Ruba in any capacity at some future point, well, all the better, yes?

Okay, so these beastman fellows. I'm a bit behind on the story, but do we know what they actually want? Because as long as their motivation isn't how much they love killing humans or something along those lines, there's always the possibility of a solution that benefits both parties.

After all, if they have a fortress that large, wouldn't it be better to be able to have it on our side some day?

[White Chalice, you are being hailed! The source: A tiny but stylish civilian shuttle in your vicinity!

The first image of the transmission appears to be of some kind of robot.]

Greetings, people of Earth!

Let it be known that so long as you are fair of heart, I wish for no conflict with your young civilization!

Bismuth, please, if I can just--

Indeed, all that I ask of you is an honorable exchange of--

[The robot is politely but firmly pushed out of the feed, and replaced with a slightly apologetic-looking but very sharply-dressed young man.]

Sorry about that! My associate can be rather over-zealous when meeting new people, as you may have noticed.

Putting that aside, hello, White Chalice! I am Prince Leopold I of the Kingdom of Ruba, and I would like to extend an offer of alliance between your group and my nation. If you don't think I'm trustworthy, well, this shuttle doesn't have any weapons, so I guess I can't exactly stop you from shooting it down, but what would either of us stand to gain from that?

In exchange for agreeing to consider my offer, I will in turn offer whatever services we can provide. I'm something of a diplomat, and my associate is quite the capable warrior, so between the two of us, we must be good for something, eh?

I'll be following along at a safe distance until I hear your answer.
