[In the wake of the most recent mission, you'll find a disheartening sight if you enter the hangar.  The HK-1138' Corona lies in a crumpled, ruined heap off in a side designated for unsalvagable wrecks, the entire machine nearly split in twain height-wise, a huge chunk of it just fucking gone.  Those parts from before?  Yeah, phoney.  All of them.  Danconias-Phillips imitation parts and completely incompatible.  You didn't actually think they'd HELP Julia, did you?]

Come on... move... move!

[And elsewhere in the hangar, Julia has been trying as hard as she can to use other machines.  Knightmare Frames.  Mobile Suits.  Everything and anything that currently isn't claimed by someone else just so no stone was unturned.  But it's all for naught.  Her hands fly wildly and clumsily at the controls.  It takes all of her willpower and focus to just a machine to stumble awkwardly forward, and all too often her machine stumbles and falls.  And finally after one failure too many...

[Well, everyone has a breaking point and Julia's just hit hers.]

I can't...

I can't pilot anymore...

She actually chose to pilot it. Twice now.

Do you think it's possible the Getter might be done with us?

[Public]

Our battles are only getting harder and more frequent. We're going to need to be better if we want to survive all of this. While I don't actually pilot anymore, I've set up a series of tactical exercises in the computer system, if anyone wants to try and "play chess" against me.

I think you'll find this "old man" has a few tricks left that he can pass on.

And that is why you do not charge unknowns in a lightly armored high-mobility mech. It's only by the grace of our enemies leaving a lot of usable salvage that Bellzelute or Coustwell are going to fly any time in the next six months. This has been your training for this month, unless I decide to bring people along when I'm getting used to the third unit in this series.

[She switches the video feed to a filtered channel, speaking quietly under the noise of the techs dragging supplies from the transports aboard.]

[Filtered to Tohya]

Katia was about as vocal as usual about the people we fought, but between the physical similarities to our mechs and how scared the girls were when they saw the enemy, I think we've finally run across the people who created Bellzelute, Coustwell, and Granteed.

(Well, first post in here! Nice to meet you, everyone)

And in the meantime a newcomer, a tall, blonde woman in a blue suit, is walking around, taking in everything. She's seen enough - she obviously should stay here. She has no way to go home, and it's obvious these people fight creatures like that one regularly. And Ridley's also stranded here, having been hurt by these people, which will have him search revenge - he may not be as powerful as some of the creatures here, but there's much to be said for the danger of utterly ruthless and dangerously cunning enemies even if they may not be as impressive powerwise. And let's be honest, from what she saw before, most of the people here are far too naive for her to wish them having to deal with a mind as profoundly sick as Ridley's. She might as well join temporarily. She knows enough of the Chozo predictive skill to know that that these things rarely happen by mere chance.

Problem here is that she probably should to talk to the captain for that, then (to get authorization to park her ship in the hangar, if nothing else), except she has no idea who he is or where. Nor if this is an actual organization or a ragtag band of misfits. Or, well, anything about what's going on here, actually. And after today's fight she really doesn't have the patience to explore this whole place right now. Better ask for directions.

And so, Samus will stop whoever she comes across, intending to get some information on White Chalice. Who wants to meet, welcome, and/or help the big scary lady?

Fanelia!

The White Chalice hovers on the outskirts of the capital of Fanelia, a bustling city that seems to be of almost entirely middle ages technology, with guards carrying around swords and bows, light coming from torches and peasants working in fields of wheat. There are a few things unusual about it, though. Strange, part animal beastmen walk the streets without getting a second glance, and there appear to be mecha as part of Fanelia's armed forces, though they are only armed with low-tech weapons such as swords and spears. Also, the White Chalice, while gathering a crowd of curious onlookers, is not causing panic and riots in the street.

Van never figured out the comm units, but he figures there'll be some kind of crowd of people looking to see the place. So he's addressing that.

"I wanted to thank you all for agreeing to take me this far, but this is where my part in your journey ends. I have my duty to complete here. You're all welcome to stay for a few days if you want. I'll even see about getting people to restore your food stores. I bet it'll make a nice change from all that canned food you all seem to live on.

Anyways, welcome to Fanelia, and thank you again."

EDIT "Also, a normal part of a coronation is a Guymelef tournament afterwards as part of the celebration. I'd be interested to see how your mecha stand up to our melefs."

1.

[There's a new guy in the hangar. He's busy staring at your robot, unless your name is Cheng or Adette, in which case he is staring at a list of robots on the ship.]

...Magnificent...

2.

[The new guy's going back and forth between the Chalice and that mansion with a loader unit, carrying all sorts of giant melee weaponry.]

Man, why'd the old guy have to have so much shit...

3. [Locked to Loraine]

[Oh look who is getting their shots up to date.]
HANDS OFF, YOU BLASTED SHE-DEVIL!

4. ON THE BRIDGE

Ah...yes? I was told you're the captain around here, and, well...I need a place to stay.

[Public channel.  And Josh is in the kind SRS BUSINESS mode that you know is only followed by neckbearded rantings.]

I've heard that one of you... or possibly even several of you is in possession of the worst movie ever created.  It's been a sidequest goal of mine to wipe out this bane that not even Second Impact could kill, and I won't have mediocrity dwell in the ship.

Those possession of the movie, you know who you are.  Destroy it.

We can at least do this much to better the world.

(OOC note: Josh may hate the 2011 The Thing movie but I thought it was actually pretty good!  Just clearing that up.)

[The Rushbird returns to the White Chalice surprisingly completely undamaged. It was easy to put together now that the explosion and subsequent 'depowering' of the Rushbird was all a sham.

However as Ichitaka exits the cockpit he doesn't look happy in the least. While his plan had somewhat fallen apart that wasn't what was bothering him. Anyone that got close enough could hear him whisper. ]

Some people here are despicable...

[The other unfortunate thing was that his plan to try to reveal the mole completely fell apart due to what had happened but he could only talk to a few people about that.]

[Have a Devon lying down where she really shouldn't. It could be simply unusual, like a busy hallway. Or it could be your room, restricted access area, or even someone's cockpit! What the hell.

Judging from her grimace, there is no peaceful rest in her sleep. Nightmares?]

2.
[It's a bad time to be alone and introspective, if that's what you're doing right now. Because you could get accosted by strange, unsociable people. People like Devon.]

If you had to choose between saving a familiar person or a greater number of strangers, which option would be preferable?
What is your answer, savior of humanity?

[Didn't she ask a question like that a while back already? And where did that savior thing come out of sudden?]

1. [There is a large explosion coming from one section of the hangar, anyone who checks it out would see Ichitaka spraying the cockpit of the Rushbird with a fire extinguisher. A lot of smoke is pouring out of it.

Ichitaka himself looks extremely worried and if anyone looks closely they would see that both of the orbs in the Rushbird's arms have lost all color from them.]

[[OOC: This is all a huge sham being set up by Ichitaka.]]

2. [Sometime later Ichitaka is in the cafeteria since he couldn't continue training with a slightly broken Rushbird. There's a huge list of names of people and factions next to him on the table with a few of them crossed off. Most of the crossed off names belonged to people that were previously on the L-Boat.]
