Hayato wasn't really angry. If anything, he was in a good mood. Sure, they had failed to capture the dragon, but they had kept it out of Invader hands as well, and losses had been absurdly low. However, part of him had been building up to the idea that after today this whole thing would be over. It wasn't, and so Hayato found himself filled with impatient, nervous energy.

He was taking it out in the gym on a punching bag. Each punch was so fast it was hard to follow with the naked eye. After a while, a particularly strong punch actually tore a hole in the bag, spilling sand all over the floor. Hayato stopped, and just stared at his hand for a while, opening and closing his hand into a fist while thinking.

White Chalice, as Star Captain Ranna already informed you, some of my clansmen will be our guests. Treat them with hospitality and respect. [This is not phrased as if it were an option.] Clan Jade Falcon, our mortal enemies, are also known to be on planet, though their exact number is unknown. It is certain we will fight them again.

Some of our warriors may look strange to you. Those who are between seven and eight feet tall and heavily muscled are called elementals and pilot our battle armor. Those who are smaller, with large heads and eyes are aerospace pilots. Do not be alarmed. They are human and mean you no harm.

It is important to note that if you see two warriors dueling in some way, whether with weapons, mechs or some proxy thereof and you see a circle of other warriors around them, it is very important that you do not step into that circle. You will invalidate the results of that trial. You may observe if you wish. Instructions have already been given that all trials are to be fought in out of the way places only.

This is a part of clan culture called the five trials and is a way in which we formalize combat and disputes to reduce waste and eliminate damage to innocents. Star Captain Ranna showed an excellent use of one trial when she fought the Falcon commander on the last mission. Agreeing to fight the Falcon commander there honor bound her unit from interfering. Otherwise, in addition to the creatures we fought there already, we would have had to face a full trinary of Jade Falcons: fifteen to twenty mechs or their equivalent in battle armor, vehicles or fighters.

There is a formalized bidding process before the start of most such trials, which the Falcons will use if they attack again. For more information on that, see Ranna or myself.

Having given information, I must request it in turn now too. These 'Invaders' showed an almost sentient sense of purpose, despite seeming unequipped for it. I have read everything in the files about them, but I am sure that does not cover all the knowledge on board about them. If anyone knows more of them, I request that information now.

[For everyone who'd been expecting to get a glimpse of Kei naked when she got out of Shin Getter... well, you're all in for a massive disappointment.  As the Getter's hatch opened, more than a few mechanics (and possibly pilots) swarmed in close to engage in a bit of lechery...

[... Only for a flashbang to be flung out onto the floor in front of them.  And one flash and a bang later, and quite a few people are lying unconscious on the floor with various articles of clothing missing, Kei adjusting said articles while still looking a bit aggravated.]

Ruins

The howl of the wind across the ruins of Old Boston was loud. The streets were clear but covered in fine sand as the rest of the world stretched across the vast continent like it was a quiet monolith. It was here that the Neuroi had been sighted again, as well as the location of Eagle Squad.

Yoshika, Scott, you two are out here for different reasons entirely, considering that Yoshika you've broken your room imprisonment to get out here and Scott you left your team behind. There's probably a group of people going to come and get you two in a while, but right now the clock is ticking.

(ooc: the log is primarily for Scott, Yoshika and any other interested canonmates who want to come and help these two search. There's some combat and this is frontdated to approximately Wednesday with about 3 days worth of travel time. The log IC finishes on Saturday.)

I'm in Duluth right now, right off the coast of Lake Superior. I don't want to go into the details on a traceable call, but things have been pretty intense on my end, and if you're heading this direction already, I could really use your help. In exchange, I could lend a hand with Gundam Freya again. How about it?
