[As the wrecked TSX finally settles back onboard the White Chalice, Ryo is looking far from in high spirits.]

All those people... dead.   And it's been thirty years, and the closest thing we've got to  stopping them is...

[He looks back at his de-limbed Fafner, his eyes now fully red from the assimilation syndrome that went along with using it.  He had hoped to not pilot it except under extreme emergencies, and this certainly qualified.  With a trembling hand he reached up, pressing it against one of the TSX's legs and sighing.]

We need to get you back to Tatsumiya Island...

We need to make sure things like this don't happen again.

[[In the hangar, one commanding Witch stood in her Striker Unit. Her mechanics helped her into a normal suit that was cut and detailed to work alongside her Strikers. ]]

Now Lowe, you're certain this will work?

[[After questioning and discussing, the Witch brings her Striker to life.]] Mio Sakamoto, I'm taking off!

[[Bay doors open ((with full warnings and preparation)), letting the suited Witch into the void of space. Of course, she has little control over her movement in space, but the idea is to test the efficiency of this rig.

She has a radio channel to talk, while she projects herself through space, often moving far beyond where she plans to move.

[Misato is up on the viewing deck as she records this message, quietly making sure that Dan was following her navigational instructions exactly. Wouldn't want the crew here to see the wrong part of the moon, after all...or to draw any remaining Festum there. That would be something more like a worst-case scenario.]

Festum. First my country, then my favorite celestial body...anyway, I just wanted to thank everyone for getting out of that mess alive and un-golden, and to express my condolences for those Nergal employees that didn't make it.

[Alessandra's on observation in the medical ward. She's not wounded, but there's a risk of Festum assimilation - she acts normally rather than repeating "Are you there?" so it's unlikely, but just in case.

She's humming some tune with a calm, peaceful expression, but the hum itself has discordant tones. She's either nervous or really bad at this, or both. Also, all she has on is a hospital gown, so fanservice if that's your thing.]

I wonder who shall pay me a visit...

[You might be hearing a beautiful sound coming from the depths of the hangar. Apparently it has the best acoustics as Tsukasa is playing a series of melodies on both the flute first and then the violin. It is really quite breathtaking and you should come and listen to him.

Where he got the musical instruments? Who really knows.]

2. Action

[CRASH. That's something important clattering to the floor. And Tsukasa is giving you THAT LOOK. That look perfected from countless hours of slavedriving.]

You should go and just peel onions. After that, mince them.

So here is the deal. Our allies Nergal Heavy Industries are contractually obligated to give every one of their employees and their families funerals. With the massive death toll caused by the Festum... [Dan takes a moment of silence and bows his head] it has come to the crew of the Nadesico to perform over 100000 funerals and they only have a few weeks to do it. So I have offered our services in aid. It's the least we can do right?

((OOC: This post is for threads related to the funerals. Though you can post your own threads regarding this as well. Actively taking part in this event is entirely optional, but unless you post saying you specifically AREN'T helping with the funerals, the general assumption will be that everyone was helping off screen.))

Note: Nergal Heavy Industries was a multi-national corporation pre impact and still has employees from many different backgrounds, so feel free to complain about having to do a particularly strange or obscure funeral. In fact, feel free to make a strange or obscure funeral up if you want to.

*Yurika's making an official announcement! The video flickers on, and she waves... as for why she's dressed as a miko, there must be some explanation for that.*

Hi, everyone! I know what happened on the moon was really terrible, and we tried our best to stop it, but we couldn't... As the captain of the Nadesico, I would like to have a moment of silence for all the people lost in the surprise Festum attack.

*A minute goes by. Once it's over, Yurika coughs.*

We're all really trying hard to pick up the work that we've had to do in the work of our narrow victory, and as the highest-ranking Nergal official here, I have a lot of contract obligations to fulfill after this, so...

Could you all please, pleaaaaaaaaaaaaase help me out with the funerals?

...Right...so, at any rate, on that last mission, it may have seemed like I pulled out a bit early due to sheer terror.  I'm here to assure you all that such a thing is impossible.  Indeed, my body is tooled to use the adrenaline rush from fear to fuel my mind, and heighten the abilities of my machine even higher.

...So why did I leave?  It's actually rather simple, you see...most humans use about 10% of their brains at a time. Even Newtypes don't use more than 20 or 30% at a time...I, on the other hand, use somewhere around 90% of it at once.  This, sadly, has the side effect of amplifying whatever the hell those Festum things were doing...I retreated to distance myself from the attack, lest I be turned against you all.  Trust me, none of you want to ever become my enemy. I'm sure you wouldn't last long.

On the plus side, Reinheit will be good to launch again with a fresh coat of paint. Which is more than I can say for some pilots on that last mission...

[Prime is in his quarters, growling to himself and pacing the room like a madman. His mirror looks like it was hit with a blunt object, and shattered bits are strewn across the floor.  He's softly cursing under his breath. Do you approach?]

Adette was wandering slowly though the ship, doing her best to stay out from underfoot as people hurried past her on official business, or errands. She felt a bit useless, having nothing pressing to do herself. She wanted to help, but was unsure of where she might start in finding a place that would need her. What skills did she have anyways?
These thoughts and more run through her head like a marathon, an she wondered if she should have ever left home at all.

I should really do something about my position. Surely there must be something I can do. But... what?
It was hard to deny the exhilaration of being in space, of travel, and of danger, but it was hard to feel connected to any of the people around when she was so very disconnected from them.
