A bird may love a fish, but where would they live?

Adette was wandering slowly though the ship, doing her best to stay out from underfoot as people hurried past her on official business, or errands. She felt a bit useless, having nothing pressing to do herself. She wanted to help, but was unsure of where she might start in finding a place that would need her. What skills did she have anyways?
These thoughts and more run through her head like a marathon, an she wondered if she should have ever left home at all.
I should really do something about my position. Surely there must be something I can do. But... what?
It was hard to deny the exhilaration of being in space, of travel, and of danger, but it was hard to feel connected to any of the people around when she was so very disconnected from them.

Aah! Please accept my apologies, my thoughts got the better of me! I cannot stop my thinking processes, but I will try to be more aware of the surroundings in the future!
Are you unhurt, unknown-to-me madam?

"Hey watch it! Not all of us walk aroun wear our whole mech."

I do not recall seeing your visage earlier. Perchance, are you one of the survivors who miraculously escaped alive from the recent catastrophe?
[And now Alessandra is paying Adette her full attention. You can see the hopeful look in her eyes, too. Like if she really wanted there to be survivors.]

So... no civilians made it out alive all...
[Despite putting on a confident face, Alessandra sounds rather disheartened.]

"Cold. Desolate. Full of Snow. That would be the place." Adette was growing more irritated with this girl every passing moment. She had nothing to do with what had happened, and had even volunteered to help out after the tragic loss of life, so why was this girl so obsessed with it?
"How would I know? Do I look like the Official Civilian Counter?!"

[She took that snarky comment at face value?]

Adette facepalms, groans, and then sighs.
"Are you serious?" Adette cocks her head to the side in disbelief. "You guys seriously need a better education system around here. Or a uniform uniform system. Grhhh!" Adette took off her ridiculous hat and threw it on the floor to further emphasize her frustration.

What is your name, oh angered one?
no subject
"Adette Kistler. Officer of the Siberian Railroad- or I uh... I used to be, anyways." She sighs, her regret showing plainly on her face. But just as quickly as it appeared, the look is replaced with frustration, and irritation. "What's it to you anyways?"
no subject
[Alessandra either forgot that Siberian Railroad used to be the enemy, or doesn't care about it.]
I am Alessandra Langelier, the chosen champion of House Consenesco. It is a pleasure to make an acquintance, lady Kistler.

Had to be done
Also, my stance is unmoving. When I brace myself, I do not move an inch even when hit by... [Looks around for the largest object in the corridor]
Your mighty chest!
Re: Had to be done
"My WHA-?!" Well, sure they where big but... "What are you getting at you freak?!!?" Adette puts her arms over her chest and backs away. "You're just a child, and you want me to hit you with my...!!" She sputters for a moment in disbelief.

Ah, excuse me, do you know where the Kitchen is from here?
no subject
"I uh... yes, actually. I do." Adette replies, smirking.
no subject
[Looks Adette in the eye] Mind accompanying a lost Spacenoid?
no subject
Adette was a bit stunned to find someone asking her for help, but the kitchen was one place she knew quite well by now, as they always held some strange new food they hadn't had back in the Dompeli, back in Sibera.
"As long as you don't mind that I'm still getting my space legs. I couldn't tell you which was Saturn was, but I can get you to the kitchen." Adette's smirk slowly turned into a happy grin which she could not hide.

[...] That was pretty bad, huh?
no subject
"I'm Adette. Adette Kister. Former Siberian Railway Officer. Now I guess, I'm just along for the ride." She shrugged and held out her elbow to him.
"Shall we?"

"I hope he doesn't intend to run me ragged, too. Heaven forbid I should chip a nail." From the way she smiles, it's obviously meant as a joke. (no to mention that clearly her nails are not 'done' to begin with).

"Yeah, I know the type! And there seems to be plenty of young pilots abroad too, so I'm sure he's never at a lack for fresh meat."

Door. Close. Door. Close. Door. OPEN!
Would you look at that, this door opened for you Adette. And what is inside, but a familiar boy in the middle of a match, visor down on her face.]]

workplay. At first she wants to leap out and surprise him, but he is always so irratable that shocking him might not be such a good idea.Instead she takes this chance to lounge on the spare bed in his room, and watch him play.

monitortelephone that would display his game while he's playing it too.But you can watch his hands twitch and jerk about until he totally pwn some not-online ass.
And then he flops back, which lifts the visor from his eyes.
And then he flips his shit!]]
WHAT'RE YOU DOING IN HERE!?
no subject
"Can't a beautiful young woman pay her best friend a visit? I didn't want to interrupt your game, but this bed is so comfy..." She yawns wide, happy to have a moment to rest her tried feet.
no subject
[[He scrambles up to the little interface by the door.
]]
You're supposed to be living with me now!?
no subject
"Well that takes a load off my mind. I've been sleeping in lounges, on couches. A bed would be a welcome change!" She laughs aloud, and stretches out, putting her hands behind her head, her tall fur hat tumbling off her head, and falls to the ground.
"The door just opened when i walked by, so don't blame me. Apparently Dan finally found a place for me. I wish it was with that dashing Char character, but I guess you'll do, Gainer."
no subject
Hey! I'm a lot better than some war monger that killed hundreds of people!
[[Of course he doesn't get it...]]
no subject
"Perhaps he was, Gainer, but you're a bit to young for me, don't you think?" Adette's deft fingers undo her coat's buttons and open it to reveal her already revealing red leather suit.
"This may be the safest place for me anyways."
no subject
no subject
"You're getting off lightly! You should never make careless remarks about a woman's age, Gainer Sanga, it isn't polite!"
no subject
I never said anything about your age! It doesn't matter how old you are, you're older than me anyway!
[[Gainer goes back to his happy place; his game.]] Great... I've got to deal with her every day now...
How did you get on the ship anyway?
no subject
"Hey Gainer, why do you think they made us stay in Siberia when there are colonies in space they could have sent us to?"
no subject
"Shouldn't you know that. Siberian Railway were the ones restricting information and travel. If you trying to keep people in the Domepolis, then why wouldn't they just not tell anyone about the colonies..."
no subject
no subject
Why even bother then? Wasn't there something better you could've done besides joining the Siberian Railway?" Ahh, those "what if" questions. Always makes you think, but there's never a "right" answer. And what does Gainer hope to hear about this?
Nothing really, his mind was on his game when his mouth was working otherwise.
no subject
The answer was as plain to Adette, as the back of Gainer's head.
He wouldn't, couldn't understand.
Instead she closed her eyes, and tried waited for sleep to come, so she could forget that pain that pulled on her heart strings.
no subject
It's not like she was going to be magically forgiven just because he was being civil, and she got stuck in the same room with him.
And for the most part, she was leaving him alone anyway, so he sat there and played his game while she went to sleep.
