[It's a quiet night, and Roads is in the hangar, working alongside some kind of giant, robot-scale sword. There are tons of computers lying around, and everyone's favorite mad scientist is dashing back and forth between them, muttering to himself. ]

Yes...yes, just a little bit more...

Red to red, blue to blue, yellow to yellow...

[Finally, he takes a deep breath, and walks over to where two extension cords are lying on the ground.]

Alright...With this, WE STEP FORWARD INTO HISTORY!

[He slams the two cords together! Sparks ignite, and the sword gains a new, golden edge around its normal form. Somewhere in the distance, there's a flash of lightning.]

It worked...it worked! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! NOW, NOTHING CAN STOP ME!!

[There's a series of sparks, and the field intensifies for an instant before sending a bolt of energy towards the far wall of the hangar. It melts the surface of the metal, leaving a smoldering orange crater.]

I guess so, but the railgun can already do that. Nah, the point here was to get something that uses as little energy as possible to coat the blade...I've got a bit of a battery problem with the things that supply magic sunlight dust to the rest of my machine, so high efficiency is more important than raw power.

Yeah, there's that, but this sort of thing is really more of a contained field...if I have to turn it off real fast it'll just vent into the air. Sort of like a beam saber, you know?

Just...wrapped around a normal sword. And made of magic.
