First Note | The Ace Appears

(You here a mecha landing in the hangar and decide to investigate. You soon see a new mecha, specifically a new Desu unit in the hangar. However this Desu unit is quite different from the Claimer class units. The cockpit opens to reveal a woman in her late 20s. She jumps down with unusual grace and ease before turning to see you.)

My name is Seiren Kurokawa, pilot of the Desu Ellen. I would like to speak to the one in charge.

(Seiren is walking around the Chalice. She isn't looking for anything in particular, she is just trying to get familiar with the lay out of the Chalice. Bother?)

(Seiren looks at the unit Hana is working on and easily recognizes it as Desu Blanc. Seiren looks back at Hana and sees CHYPrE floating around her.)

You must be a PreDesu if you have an AI with you...Strange, I do not recognize you. Might you be a new PreDesu?

[Sora does indeed wonder why there's a new mecha, and goes to see what's going on... and freezes.]

Seiren...!? Did the Professor get my letter already, then? Or did something else happen?

Oh, Myoudouin. It has been...nine days hasn't it? And I know nothing of this letter. I was sent here as we have gotten word of the capture of Eri Kurumu. I was sent here by Professor Himesaki to aid in rescuing her.

Nine days... has it really been that long? It doesn't feel like it.

I suppose I should offer my report... [Sora's tone is a bit flat, like she's trying not to think about what she's saying.] Adventus generals assaulted the White Chalice. We were attacked, and we were unable to suppress a powerful boarder. The boarder was able to subdue and kidnap several combatants, keeping us occupied while automated units roamed the ship and kidnapped additional personnel. Eri was taken while protecting the bridge.

[Alexei is in the hallway. He heard the announcement of a third, and now a fourth PreDesu pilot. More kids to look after...]

Fourth? I know of Kurumu and Myoudouin. I assume that the other is the one who piloted the Desu Tsubomi during the attack on Fairy Park. Where might I find her?

That is correct. Eri, currently MIA. Unfortunately, she's become a prisoner of our enemy. Plans are being made to return her and everyone else captured to the Chalice.

(Seiren just stares at Char for a second.)

Surely you jest. You mean to tell me that the Chalice has a small army made of strong units and there is no one in charge?

Another Desu? And different to the others...

Ah, the question of who's in charge is a bit... complicated. There's the Captain, but he's not really involved in running things. You'll probably want to talk to the ship's AI, Dan, if you're worried about being added to the rosters and so on, or to one of the combat officers like Ms Jin or Commander Jin - ah, different Jins, one's the XO and the other's with the Getter team - if you're concerned with military planning.

[Laura rattles this off as something of a canned speech without really looking at Seiren - being distracted with work in the buildup to the rescue mission, she's instead just focusing on the new unit and wondering how much of a pain it'll be to maintain.]

Yes. This the Desu Ellen, the third in the Agito class of Desu units. From what I hear the main Desu units aboard are Claimer class units.

I see. Where can I find one of the combat officers? I wish to familiarize myself with the enemy as much as possible.

Ah, thank you Bidan. Do you possibly know anything about the enemy that has captured Eri Kurumu? I was sent here by Professor Himesaki to aid in the rescue of her and as such would like to familiarize myself with her captors as much as possible.

[As it stood, Dita had a lot of warning that the girl was coming and her planning room was in a state of half-shambles from many attack plans being drawn up on both paper and the holographic screens. Dita seemed tired, but she wasn't exhausted. Not yet anyhow.]

Yes. I am Seiren Kurokawa, pilot of the Desu Ellen. I am glad that I could meet you, Lielbely. I have heard from several people that you are in charge of the planning for the rescue operations. Now from what I heard the current plan calls for attacking the enemy from all sides as a sort of distraction while a small group goes in to recover the captives. Is this all correct or have there been changes to the plan?

Yes there are. I think it is worth noting that there is another team of five PreDesus back at Fairy Park. They are all novices though and truthfully aren't ready for their first mission. And you are?

No, I am here to help with the rescue operations of Eri Kurumu and the other captives. Afterwards I am to help train all of the PreDesus so that an incident such as this doesn't happen again.
