Ever since the defeat of the Shadow Knights and Professor Tesla, Yuu's been oddly silent. Thinking. Musing. Replaying a certain event in his head, over and over.

------cut scene-----
"Yuu...wake up...wake up, Yuu! They're here!"  It had been the middle of the night when Professor Yuushahiro had rushed to his son's room, hurredly shaking him awake. The ceiling shook. Alarms were blaring. E.V.I.L. was afoot...inside the secret underground hangar that was building the hope of the people! "We've been found out, Yuu! E.V.I.L is trying to steal the X-Buster!"  

A short while later, he and his father had made it to the hangar. Any minions foolish enough to get in the way had fallen to the deadly techniques of German Ninjutsu. But the hangar was a different story. A swarm of mushroom mooks, each one volatile and ten times stronger than a basic mook! To top it off, the X-Buster was starting up! The hangar began to lurch as it started to rise to the surface...there was no time to formulate plans...Professor Alberto Yuushahiro pushed his son back into the shadows, before charging in with a war cry! 

...and that was the last time that Yuu would ever see his father. The Professor's ploy was just what was needed for one Kanazuki Yuushahiro to make it to the X-Buster unnoticed.  Climbing up the leg, Yuu had almost reached the cockpit...before the machine took off into the sky, nearly blowing him right back off! Clinging for dear life, Yuu watched in amazement as the town around him burned. Agents of E.V.I.L. had overrun it with gigantic machines, bombers, and mechabeasts. They weren't simply assaulting the town to steal the X-Buster...they were making an example out of it, punishment for trying to create a guardian to suppress their rule.  The gigantic floating fortress loomed ever closer as the stolen X-Buster made a beeline for it.

Somehow, he'd made it. He was still alive, and still with the X-Buster when it landed inside. What's more, he'd gone unnoticed...the mooks inside were far too many to fight alone. He'd steal back the Guardian Robot, save the town, and maybe even destroy the fortress! It was a flawless plan. ..or it would have been, if not for one thing...the being who came out of the X-Buster's cockpit....

"....Oishi...my beloved...why...?"

[Yuu'll be open to questions post mission, as he hops down from the X-Buster's cockpit. Now would be a good time to ask.]

2.

[And once again, Yuu's managed to sneak into kitchen duty. He's fervently making bowl after bowl of ramen, tasting each mixture once, then tossing it. It looks as if he's gone through a number of bowls and utensils, his frantic pace overwhelming the stress limits of metal pots and stirring wisks, as well as chopping knives and serving bowls. He can be heard muttering to himself.]

No...no...no! This is nothing like hers...like ours....

I'm seriously hoping you're going to leave some noodles left. I'm getting a bit hungry.

Yuu listlessly motions to some of his failures. Dubious though they appear, they're actually pretty good...

"Take if you're hungry...I refuse to quit until I can perfect IT."

Perfect a bowl of noodles. Really. Just what is going on in that head of yours.

Not simply noodles...but HER noodles...made with true love, they're able to fully restore one's faith and courage to maximum. Considered a gamebreaking item due to the miraculous effects, you could only hold one at a time!

[Ryou looked both cynical, yet terribly amused at the notion.]

And I'm pretty sure that unless a person has large hands, holding more than one bowl would be problematic.

Yuu shakes his head, as if to clear it of unnecessary thoughts.

"On that day, when I saw Oishi piloting the X-Buster...the look on her face was incredibly inhumane...like a mask of darkness, clouding her noble, pure soul. It was not the woman I knew, the woman I shared my soul with."

I think she wasn't just abducted. Her mind is not her own.

Exactly. She was brainwashed into becoming something else...then willingly stole the machine. She still remains in the clutches of E.V.I.L. to this day...someday, when I'm strong enough, I intend to assault their fortress myself, undo their mind control, and save her!

Of course he was! That madman had clearly lost his mind and cognitive reasoning. Or else it was just some kind of lie or trick.

The Oishi I know was a fair-hearted maiden of Justice and Righteousness. We met in high school when I moved from my doomed hometown, and we've been dating ever since. She actually agreed to help around the lab when I told her of the Guardian Robot we were building to protect the city from E.V.I.L.! And she was the greatest cook that I've ever met. She was my world...

The very idea that she would willingly throw our perfect life away and join E.V.I.L. is madness itself...no, I truly believe that some agent of E.V.I.L. snuck in and brainwashed her, in order to both steal the X-Buster...and a bit of my soul, as well.

Absolutely not! She was the perfect supporting character and love interest for a shounen hero! Sure, she got a bit mad when I oogled at other women during beach episodes, but that's normal, right?

Since I started high school in the city of Brunswick, pretty much. Amidst the crowd of students, she stuck out, like a blossoming flower in the harshest winters of my youth...

...we hit it off from day one, started dating, and have been inseperable ever since...at least until the day this whole mess started.

Meaning that if what Tesla said is true, then she had been stringing you along since the very beginning!

During that time though... did she behave in any way that could hint at a malevolent will hidden beneath what she showed to you? A lack of compassion for the downtrodden, or a dislike of those who uphold justice?

1: I saw that Yuu was using some Fire Magic in that mission...

"Congratulations on your victory, Mechwarrior Yuushahiro!" Matthew says cheerfully, lowering himself from a cherry-picker unit, oblivious to the look of anguish upon Yuu's face.

Ah...Mechwarrior Matthew... your suggestion was most helpful on the battlefield. FI-RA-JU is a sucess.

[Yuu even cracks a bit of a smile.]

"Excellent!" Matthew declares, pumping his first. "I am certain that with further refinement..."

"Stravag, Yuushashiro! Has some sort of calamity happened?" He asks, voice filled with dramatic concern!
