A Nu Project...

[1]

[Amuro is just... staring, up at the White Zeta, currently standing in the hangar and in need of some serious repair. He's clearly been working hard on trying to get it fixed as fast as possible, but he seems almost... dejected, by the work.]

Not good enough... Its just not good enough...

[Ask him what's up?]

[2]

We need... to develop something.

[Amuro may have specifically called you to meet at some point in the hangar, knowing your expertise in machinery and/or experimental technologies. Or perhaps you heard a rumour, and came to see whats up.]

Something that might give us an extra edge the next time we fight the Inspectors... and anyone else threatening the Earth Sphere.

"Neg." Matthew admits sheepishly. "But the laws of physics are the laws of physics, quiaff? And we all share a common principle of weapon design–bipedal war machines."

He frowns for a moment. "It is actually quite fortuitous that both the Clans and the Earth Sphere share the same style of military combat."

"Aff. Lightweight Endo-steel frames, with myomer fiber musculature and compact fusion reactors. It took all those discoveries in order for Battlemechs to become practical in our era, and even to this day, a Mech's quality and depends on the utility and potential of it's frame."

Matthew stroking his chin. "This may not be a complete solution to fighting the inspectors...but what if we tried going back to the basics for our mech...pardon, mobile suit design? Creating a new type of frame, capable of mounting versatile arrays of equipment, and capable of unprecedented levels of control and maneuverability?"

"But such mobility is useless without the ability to control it with precision and sensitivity." Matthew adds, getting into the swing of things.

"Along with an innovation in frame design, we'd need a control interface capable of inputing precision commands from the pilot–perhaps a neural interface, like Clan Enhanced Imaging tattoos..."

"Aff. Yet in my bones, I know that when the Inspectors come to face us again, they will barely know what hit them!"
