After the previous mission, White Chalice's hangar is seeing new arrivals as 5 mechs are moving in, all bearing the following insignia:



The lead mech has already parked, and the pilot has exited the cockpit.

"I am Star Captain Ranna of Clan Wolf's Delta Galaxy. I do apologize for the... inappropriate timing of the Circle of Equals, but it was done under extenuating circumstances. This is my Command Star, and it is with great honor that my warriors and I set foot on Terra."

I had to make certain you knew what you were entering. These people are under my protection, and you will fight alongside them.

"Thank you." Ranna takes the hand and shakes it, "Star Captain Ranna, Clan Wolf's Delta Galaxy."

"You are mistaken, however. I will fight alongside them insofar that I do not receive orders to leave from my Khan.

Having said that, the reason we chance extinction is to protect the Inner Sphere, and especially Terra. I may eventually be deployed elsewhere, but I doubt our goals will diverge."

You will, for as long as you are here. Global wars do not give many options. Fight alongside them, or die alone.

I do not know whether you will stay long. But I doubt you will be recalled soon. Much less if the rest of your clan is coming here as well.

"Interstellar wars give even less options, quiaff? Global wars are similar, however. If my Khan requires my Trinary to operate in another continent on Terra, than I shall do so."

She smiles.

"Nevertheless, if I know my Khan, he will probably assign me or my unit as a liaison to the White Chalice anyway."

[Nod]There are many armies in this planet. But whether it is saved or falls will come down to this one ship and its occupants. From what Resnick has been saying, it would be unusual for the Wolf Clan to pass up such a chance at glory.

[There is an offhand prophetic certainty in Samus's words about the importance of White Chalice that seems... eerie. She's not really guessing or aggrandizing the importance of this ship - it's just something she knows. But then, there is something somewhat off about her in general, not quite wholly human]

"Glory is important, but Clan Wolf has always known duty as well. After all, there is little glory in exiling ourselves from the homeworlds. It is, however, our duty to do so."

[Samus simply directs a slight questioning look at her, asking her to continue/explain/elaborate. She does not know what that duty the Clan has is, after all]

"It is a long tale.

The short explanation is that among the Clans, we are split into two main political and philosophical groups, both are alike in wanting to uphold the glory of the old Star League. Wardens believe in doing so by protecting the Inner Sphere, while Crusaders believe in conquering it to enlighten them.

There are both Wardens and Crusaders in each Clan, though a Clan is usually dominated by one camp. Clan Wolf has always been a strong Warden Clan - I would say we are the unofficial leader among the Warden Clans. The Jade Falcons hold a similar unofficial position among the Crusaders.

Recent events has made it...untenable for us, so our Khan has decided to relocate the majority of our Clan to the Inner Sphere in order to better protect it."

Is the Jade Falcon contingent after your main fleet a significant portion of their forces?

"It is hard to say. Our Touman was split up into three main force, two of them striking deep into the Jade Falcon Occupation Zone to bleed them dry.

I am certain the Falcons had at least one Galaxy chasing after us. We fought the 4th Falcon Velites, so that would most likely be Peregrine Galaxy. There could be others."

[Nod] Hope they send a great force after you. When they are destroyed, it will be a victory for the Wardens, even if you take time to find your way back to your galaxy.
