'Combat Instructor' again, huh?

[Calvina wraps her jacket up a little tighter and looks out across the Siberian permafrost from her vantage point.]

Everyone on this 'exodus' is a civilian...they want to know how to fight because they have to. No, they chose to. Throwing themselves out in the world like this, and asking me of all people to help hold them up? They don't even know what they're getting into. Even the 'volunteers'.

Tch. Well, at least the pay's good, and they're sticking around with my room and board...

Tohya, this is another friend of mine. We both came over on the White Chalice... her name's Calvina Coulange and she's going to be helping train the pilots here. And Calvina, this is Tohya Shiun; like I said before, we knew each other from a few years back.

Around all these landships? We hardly have the manpower for that. For one thing most of the Witches are huddling up to space heaters until they get emergency orders. We're just helping out the local militia right now. I suppose you're a Silhouette Machine pilot?

King Gainer is an Overman. He's a lot stronger than the Silhouette Machines, which is why everyone expect me to go out on patrol.

It's not that cold, not compared to the antarctic anyway. It's more the constant moving around and avoiding the Siberian Railway. It makes it somewhat difficult to study.
