You know, I'm a little shocked. I know I'm a cold-yet-spicy, and I know my breath smells like alcohol and cigarettes, but here we are at a theme park, the perfect place for a date, and I've been going around it all my lonesome.

Come now, ladies, gentlemen. In this age, when's the next time you'll get to go on a theme park date?

[On a prior night, Loraine is in a tacky aquarium themed bar in Fairy Park, colors of blue and purple luvdiscs everywhere. A mermaid costumed beauty sits halfway out of a tank, mixing drinks. She's drinking some kind of red, blended drink. She seems ... thoughtful. Perhaps the liquor has put a downer on her mood tonight.]

This place is tacky as all get out, but... no one here seems to much for want.

[She stares over at a grand piano, which she considers desecrated by all of the decorations, making it look like a giant clam with black and white musical teeth.]

... I wonder if they need a pianist.

Has a guy, or perhaps another woman, ever asked you to go with them on an outing, either for a whole day, or perhaps just an evening, and it was just the two of you?

Oh, yes - such situations did happen all the time! As a matter of fact, I dare call them regular occurence, and an important part of my upbringing.

I was under impression any leave when just two people are present would be appropriate to call a date. After all, they take place on a certain date of time!

Well... if it does not include training to live off the land, nor sightseeing trips to oversee the nearby lands, just attempts of courtship. Then I believe I am not experienced in this area.

Well, courting probably implies a more formal arrangement. A date implies some degree of romantic intent.

Absolutely outlandish but I hardly think I'm going steady with any of you so there's no harm, and I'm pretty enough to do it, if I may say so.

Heh, I guess not. Still, it's one of those things I missed.

The ship I'm on had a ration shortage until just recently, so anything fancier than a beer was out of the question. And while beer's nice and all...it's not really my thing.

...especially not what was left over.
