At least none of them have proved violent. Not yet at any rate.

But with me it's more a matter of studying. Finding common ground. I know there was an AI that spent some amount of time on this ship who chose to imprint on one person after another, but I find doing that impractical and illogical. You'd just be mimicking random people and leaving your development entirely up to chance.

Observing groups, finding trends and common ground in their behavior, that's how an artificial lifeform can further its social knowledge.

I don't know much about artificial intelligence, but what you're saying sounds about right. You certainly seem much smarter than that AI we're talking about, at least.
