Another day, another thing to do.

[1]
[Castellan, intrigued by you and/or your background approaches you.]

Mind sharing tales of your exploits, what its like where you're from and the like? I'm interested in broadening my horizons as I spent most my life underground.

[2]
[You see him in a shady corner of the bar mumbling to himself.]

Need to pay for more repairs... Must not enter reds...

[Its obvious at this point that he entered the Chalice as if he started with zero credits despite having a healthy bank account, regardless he's overreacting about the petty cash needed to get his expendable junk repaired.]

[Who better to approach than a (former) world-traveler?]

Oh? Well, okay. I've been to lots of places. Any specific one you wanted to know about?

Morocco was beautiful. All of Africa was, but Morocco especially had so many cultures and people.

Tangier is nice, with all the cultures that had been there at one time or another. It actually looks a little more like Greece in some areas. Rabat and Casablanca are very modern, but just outside Rabat are the ruins of Chellah, if you're interested in history or archeology.

Oh, and be careful if you visit during Ramadan because of the fasting. A lot of restaurants and everything will be shut down. Some are open for tourists, but with the way I was living when I visited, I tried to respect and follow the customs of the people I stayed with. It was a little harder than I expected.

Exactly. It's less of a problem in larger resort cities, since they attract people from all over the world, but if you go to smaller towns like I did, you'll probably want something to help you through the day.

Eh? [Well this was unexpected.] ... I have time to kill, so sure. Where do you want me to start?

Rauha's one of many Titan controlled Colonies. Spacenoids have had it rather rough since the one year war, really. The only place that's relatively safe is Von Braun, and that's on the moon and was under threat of colony drop some months ago.

Really, the way I see it is this: "Go for the stars, leave 'fore the Titans gun you down."

Sadly I haven't. The Titans don't really let Spacenoid Citizens do much in Side 5. [He sighs.] The stars are beautiful, aren't they? And Spacenoids get to live amongst them. If it weren't for the Titans, I'd bet we'd be able to focus more on what lies beyond.

Dark, damp, dirty, boring food, boring people, boring everything. Never looking back.

[personal profile] demonofjeeha 2013-02-14 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah it's better out here. There's actually room to be yourself.

What did you mean by being a war monger in your pit?

[personal profile] demonofjeeha 2013-02-15 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
Sounds...

[He considers his time on the surface world.]

Not that different from up here, actually. At least it wouldn't be boring.

[personal profile] demonofjeeha 2013-02-15 06:59 am (UTC)(link)
Eh? I dunno. I don't worry about that kind of thing too much.

[personal profile] demonofjeeha 2013-02-15 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, whatever it was like, it's gotta be better up here am I right? There's no way a man can really be himself when he's cramped up in a cave!

Oh, me? I'm a cyberwarfare program developed by IDS for the britannian military. Foundation X tried to capture me, but I avoided them and escaped to here.

[There is a computer terminal talking to you now, whether or not you asked it.]

Well, you're hardly alone in that. Most machines have defences against that sort of thing.

Of course, there are ways around that.

Well, it'd be natural to be curious about why this small woman is obeyed by undead terminators, or why despite her seeming gentleness her coat sports the emblems of a green lightning bolt and a death's head.

"Oh, well alright if it won't b-bore you too much..." Also there's that stutter which indicates that you make her nervous. "I grew up in the former Alaska, in Green Storm territory, near the Stalker works there. I'd help repair them and this caught the base commander's eye. I spent a year as an assistant on the Spitzbergen Front, and then earned my license as a surgeon-mechanic." What she's not saying is that, at seventeen, she's the youngest person to have ever done so. "One day I found a predator city menacing a coastal town and no Storm forces were nearby. The Chalice rescued them and I spent some time here. After the unfortunate death of The Stalker Fang, General Naga reassigned me here permanently. I'm not much use in combat so I help in the infirmary instead."

"Please, come in anytime you suspect something might be wrong, and for checkups. Piloting is stressful on the body and catching something early keeps us from having to ground you for long periods later."

Plus he seems nice. Little does she know.

Unconsciously, Oenone's hand went to the crucifix around her neck, a legacy from that time after her brother had...after she'd been forced to resurrect him.

"I believe so too."
