[ Bernie is at the mess hall (or the like), and ordered himself three hamburgers and some soda. He's either in a panic, or maybe just quite hunger, but he took a big bite out of one of them! ]

"I would, but I don't believe in corporal punishment for insubordinate soldiers." He looks over the Gaza D. He knew this was Zeon's latest model of transforming Mobile Suits, and he heard from Kamille how well Bernie did.

"Besides, you weren't insubordinate. I was impressed by the debriefing."

"Haa...thanks Commander." Bernie rubbed his forehead; he was just imagining the pain. Yeah, he wouldn't want to get by the true Red Comet.

"Y..you think so?"

"It's Captain, Bernie. And I do." He finally turns away from the Gaza, and back to Bernie. He then smiles. "You'll be happy to know that I heard back from the Zeon Military Criminal Investigative Service. They've agreed to drop the pending charges against you in light of your recent service."

"Oh, sorry Comma--I mean, Captain! ..what charges? You mean against the Chalice?"

"Against you, specifically. I convinced them you were being forced to work for Delaz against your will, and had no choice but to follow him when he went rogue."
