[pinches the bridge of his nose. Like hell this is going to be the default name.] ... Alright, I'm sorry Dita, but I have to shoot that down for a couple of reasons. 1: It's too long. Even the Anti-Earth Union Group is only four words long, plus they were able to contract it into AEUG, we don't even have enough vowels to make something speakable. 2: You're the only one in this room that actually can be considered an alien, and only you and miss Sayla are actually female. Moreover, you, me, and mister flamboyant over here are total unknowns in the Politcal sphere, so we can't use Hero either. I could go further, but I think you get my point.

[Looks around the room.] Any other suggestions? ['That wouldn't get us laughed off the stage?']

I suggest "the CIC" - Coalition of Independent Colonists. Rather than open resistance, the CIC will be a grassroots movement dedicated to nonviolent protests and political action. After all, not everyone will be able to join the AEUG and jump in a mobile suit. There needs to be a nonviolent resistance movement in addition to the AEUG, after all. Armed actions can be done under the banner of the AEUG, and nonviolent protests can be done under the banner of the CIC.

CIC runs into the same problem though. The vast majority of the people on the White Chalice aren't colonists of any sort. Also that name intrinsically cuts out any earthnoids who might agree to the cause.

What about something like, Coalition of Independent People's? This also has the benefit of not being a rallying point against us by anyone who wants to cause more spacenoid, earthnoid conflicts.

Independent peoples isn't bad... But it still has certain connotations. Lightning Squad has impact, and it sounds completely autonomous. If I have a vote, that's what it's for.

Lightning Squad sounds like it could be part of any larger military...CIP is meaningless...

...Caduceus. The winged staff entwined by serpents. It's used as a symbol of healing around the world. Even the more obscure purpose as a symbol of Hermes and commerce has relevance, given the trade restrictions the Titans have put up.

I feel it shows that we aim not to destroy or take over the world; merely alter it for the better.

I can agree to that. I was just throwing my hat in the ring to lighten the mood a bit. Can't have everyone stressing out over a name before we get things moving.
