3 - In the Infirmary and Other Things

[Flynn is in the infirmary after his exertion during the previous mission. Despite everything, he actually doesn't have any major injuries. He was just dehydrated slightly and exhausted. He wakes up the next day, and spends it staring at the ceiling silently unless of course, someone were to come see him.]

2) // JOURNAL //

[Posted to his personal journal, but still publicly accessible.]

Conor is an idiot. I always assumed he had thought everything through, it's what leaders should do.

This proved that he didn't. He was so sold on an instant fix that he was willing to throw his life away on a gamble. A gamble which would push the world even further from his dream.

I get it now, that's what it is, a dream. There is no way the world will become that within our lifetimes. It's not possible. And even if it was, it's unnatural.

But I don't know what to do now. So I'll stay here, and see more of the world today. Then I'll decide what to do.

Leaders often are the people that think things through the least. They have to decide on a course of action, and it's a lot easier to go through with something if you're sure it's the right way to do it.

Yeah. It's hard to see someone I looked up to so much fall so far.

I can't believe that Baphomet would approve of this. I don't... it just doesn't make any sense.

It might have been a ploy looking at the long term. If we're talking about an immortal god here, he might as well just write it off as acceptable losses if things bounce back in a hundred years or something.

Then again, I don't know the guy. Maybe it's not his style.

But if that's the case, then there should be no need for anything that immediate at all.

There are plenty of ways to slowly kill off humanity that we wouldn't notice let alone be able to do anything about. And as you said... so what if that takes a hundred years if that's all the same to him?

[Laura's got a checkup after she wakes up herself, but it doesn't take long. It's on her way out of the infirmary that she spots Flynn looking listless. Hesitantly...]

With a bewildered look on his face, Kensuke nearly busts in the door. He was breathing heavily, obviously he had just ran a great distance, and stood, leaning on the door frame, for a moment to catch his breath.

With a deft push of his glasses, he grinned softly.
"Hey." was about all he could think to say as he came in.

Kensuke tried to act cool, and sort of thumbed his nose a little bit.

"I heard you where here, so I came to keep you company." Kensuke pulled up a chair and turned it around, straddling the backrest, and folding his arms across the top. "You look alright. That's a relief." Kensuke tried not to act to concerned, even if he was.

I was a Disciple of Baphomet. I learned how to... control elementals I guess. I always thought we were working in tandem with them, but I guess that wasn't ever really the case.

I didn't know I could still do it, not after potentially going against Baphomet's teachings...
