The transmission managed to ruin Lucchini's good day, she wanted to go exploring, but hey, looks like she was going to be stuck in side.

Okay the behave warning was what was getting her. Lucchini always behaved! Just not by everyone's standards.

So what is she doing sneaking around... Couldn't be getting ready to cause some trouble could it? And why is she squirreling broken mecha parts into a corner?

That gets her to pause a moment looking down a little.

"I was scared. Not that I'd get hurt... But that they'd hurt my family in Rominga. I was one of the only people that could stop it so just did what I was supposed to to keep my family safe." She looked at her. "Why do you ask?"

"Because," Julia said, "I'm trying to become one. If I don't, when I pilot again I'll just end up in the same place as before. And... I wanted to know what it feels like to be a soldier."

"I fight to protect people. It's all I know how to do. It's probably why I can handle it." She thinks a moment.

"Is there someone you want safe?"

She nodded. "I want to protect a lot of people... but more importantly... there's a dream I want to protect. The dream that some day soon we'll all begin to go into space. Not just around Earth or the moon or Mars or even Jupiter... but space.

"There's a whole Universe out there, and humanity's strong. Strong enough to stop an alien invasion right after Second Impact... so why haven't we stepped out into the Universe yet?"

"Then you have to be strong enough to protect that dream." Hey it sounded like something some of the older witches would say.

"Maybe because humanity as a whole is afraid. I know me and the other witches all have our something to fight for, but doesn't mean we're not scared too. We just know that in a fight isn't the time to act scared."

"I guess that makes my situation complicated then," Julia sighed. "The people I'll be fighting against hate aliens, so I'll have to both defeat them somehow and not become some symbol they can use to show how dangerous aliens can be."

"Never said it was easy." She smiled faintly. "But if it was easy, would you want to fight? I don't think I would. Because it would mean anyone could do the job. I like being special."

"I'd do it anyways. It's not about being special at all for me... I just want to see that dream succeed now more than ever. And if I can't be a symbol for it I'll have to be a soldier to protect it."
