Fourteenth Discovery

We teleported. I didn't even know such technology is possible.

I'm pretty sure I'm the same person as before - and I hope I'm not mistaken. Depending on how teleportation works, it might have some nasty side effects. And I'm not talking about failed teleportation where your DNA gets fused with a fly or anything like that.

What happens with people disassembled into atoms? They die. And I've never heard about any technology that can return an atomized person back to life, or transfer his soul to a new body. As far as I know souls don't even exist.

A teleporter that works this way does not transport you anywhere. It kills you, and creates your perfect clone at the destination. A clone that is exactly like you in every way and has the same memories as you - but it is not you.

There is a possibility that we're all really just clones of the originals, who all died when they entered the Chulip. It's small so I doubt it actually happened... But the technology is alien, so I'd rather if we did more research on it than just assume it works fine.

Wouldn't be surprised if she blamed herself a bit for what happened. If she hadn't been so dead-set against the evacuation...
