Fourteenth Discovery

We teleported. I didn't even know such technology is possible.

I'm pretty sure I'm the same person as before - and I hope I'm not mistaken. Depending on how teleportation works, it might have some nasty side effects. And I'm not talking about failed teleportation where your DNA gets fused with a fly or anything like that.

Truly, there are no laws of physics that remain untouched these days. Perhaps the books will have to be rewritten... all of them.

No serious theories that include time travel, teleportation and magic existed until now. I am quite certain.

Surely only good will come from this. The broader a scientific theory, the higher a chance Memento Mori is capable of something I did not even perceive before!

I'm just relieved I didn't hit my head on anything when we all passed out. And that I didn't wake up to find Prometheus had drawn on my face.

As to impossible things... I learned not to think to hard about them a while back. Far too easy to get a really bad headache. And other people were being paid for that already...

Someday, when all this is over and everything's calm and peaceful again, we should sign up to have people try to figure out how it all works. Prometheus, Alessandra, Imber and Nebula, the Bureau mages, the Fairy Park girls, the Witches, the Riders...

Get them to pay us for our time and we'd be set for life. And the confusion of the researchers would be free entertainment.

It depends on the kind of teleportation these Jovians use.

[Samus does not seem surprised at the teleportation itself. The "what kind" thing seems to point out she's heard of a few, in fact]

I see.

Then it would become a problem of whether you believed in the continuity of the self.

The Jovains used this tech to transport huge swarms of their units. I'd be more surprised if it *wasn't* reliable.

Well, I'm no scientist, and nor do I plan to ever be one... so I'm not the person who'd be well-versed on the differences between the two.

At any rate, it worked and we're alive. Best not to look a gift horse in the mouth.

The Straybird has been using a teleportation mechanism for some time now, but I have to admit that this is different...

[identity profile] pheasantshanker.livejournal.com 2012-02-09 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
I don't blame you. My brother instructed me to keep it a secret a while ago...Adventus concerns and all that.

From what I've heard, they developed specific tactics to counter certain units whose potent abilities are exposed. But given that I had to make use of teleporting on the L-Boat, it may already be too late.

[identity profile] turningyaponese.livejournal.com 2012-02-09 08:14 am (UTC)(link)
You know, it's entirely possible that we didn't actually teleport... Most things don't...

[identity profile] turningyaponese.livejournal.com 2012-02-10 07:36 am (UTC)(link)
High speed movement or a manipulation of time. That is, assuming that your theory on teleportation is absolutely true.
