Ninth Rave
[In some part of the Chalice, the smell of some of the best damn coffee you've ever come across has begun to waft into your surroundings. And shortly after smelling it, you might just catch sight of Joshua as well, drifting around with a plastic, tear-shaped cup in hand filled with coffee. And god damn would you just look at the smile on his face.]
Alright... I don't know about any of you, but I'm feeling better than I have in the past few months. Yeah, I know there's plenty of crap going on, but when isn't it?
[And it's at this point he holds out the cup, offering it to you.]
It's my sister's brew; the one thing she can make well. And she makes it really well... though for the life of me I always seem to forget how great it is. Certainly makes every batch taste as good as the first one she ever made though.
I'd finally got around to it afterLuger ate the toxins finishing off the rest, but when I started drinking this, I just thought... well, no need to keep it all to myself. Especially since, well I did just say plenty of crap's going on. But that's all the more reason to keep your spirits up!
(The cup in question is specifically designed to let people drink open beverages in zero-g, and yes, it really does exist.)

I haven't had coffee in a long time.
[He gives the strange looking cup a haunted look, debating if he could actually keep it down. An idle thought wondered if declining to drink it would be less insulting than an attempt and then spitting it right back up.]

[He takes a moment to push back the light nausea and takes a sip of the coffee. Wendell actually does a double-take and takes another careful sip.]
It's really good!

It's the one thing Rim can make that she doesn't mess up one way or another because of her awkward sense of taste.

[Siiiiip. It's even calming Wendell's upset stomach, it's so good.]
Coffee wasn't exactly sustainable on our farm, or worth the trip to go get it.
no subject
Well, thankfully it's a whole lot closer now.
Besides, this is part of going out and seeing the world is about; having stuff you couldn't get your hands on back at home.

In the short amount of time I've been with you guys, I feel like I've experienced several lifetime's worth of new things.
no subject
I've got plenty to spare, don't worry.
And seeing more than you could ever imagine happens all the times. Even after Second Impact, there's so much in this world that nobody could see it all.
no subject
I wonder if anyone's seen it all?

[He makes a face that has little to do with the coffee.]
Though, sometimes I wish I could give it all up to go back.
no subject
Still though, I understand. A lot of people feel safest at home. And provided you have good parents, that usually is the case.

[There's a moment of uncertainty on his face, but Wendell keeps smiling.]
I don't really know where I would start. Any suggestions?

If you worked really hard tracking it down, I'm sure you could find where Neil Armstrong first set foot on the moon too.

Just imagine, you're sitting on the moon, looking at the Earth up there in the sky, and you just point out, and go "I want to explore there".
no subject
But the best things usually do.

Besides, you're a skilled archer and you've been improving with a sword as well. And neither of those weapons have fallen out of favor yet, especially not with the arrival of motion capture machines.

Even just picking up a sword regularly helps you improve. You get used to its weight distribution and how best to handle it.
And if you know how to handle it, using it in a fight's that much easier.

Thank goodness. From my side it was looking much more of a lost cause. I was getting discouraged, being inept at Sigil's only form of attack.

[Alexei graciously accepts the cup. Although stoic, on the inside, he's having a little mini celebration in his mind. He takes a small sip.]
no subject
... So? How's it taste?
no subject
...from which plane of existance did this coffee bean originate?
no subject
Their origin doesn't matter at all. It's how they're prepared. My sister may not be a very good cook, but she's still worked out a method for making absolutely amazing coffee.
no subject
[Aidan seems very interested in your coffee.]
no subject
But yeah, I've got some left. I put some in reserve for people willing to give it a try.
no subject
...but it smells really good.
[Laura takes a sip. And simultaneously relaxes and perks up.]
Whoa.
no subject
That, and I think the next time I write my sister, she'll be happy to know just how many people like her coffee.
no subject
You might not want to give Tsukasa or Akito any, though. If they taste this they might just shanghai her for the kitchens.
no subject
Coffee's about the only thing she makes that most people like. She... has an unusual sense when it comes to cooking; and a lot of her stuff is only borderline edible.

Can't blame her from trying and doing a lot of experimenting though. Even if she might not have the skills to be a world-class chef, she's got the heart.
