[When few people are around, suddenly the door to the pantry opens and from the storage area leaves, who else but Devon. Wait, how did she get there? And considering she holds an apple, or perhaps a single bread roll in her hand, it's obvious that someone is ignoring the rationing rules and stealing food.

And worst of all, she doesn't look like she cares about it at all.]

Most of the crew would act the same way, and those who decide to selfishly indulge themselves could be easily detected and stopped. On a case-by-case basis.

Therefore, this regulation is meaningless. I have no intention of following it.

I can understand where you're coming from but this is the best way to ensure our food supply lasts until we are able to get more.

My point is if there wasn't this rule there would be more people just going into the pantry taking whatever their want without punishment even if they were caught.

Then these people should be dealt with on a singular basis. It is a superior approach to being so arrogant that you think you can judge one ration as correct for everyone.

It isn't about being arrogant, it's just taking a few extra measures to make sure we don't run out of food. Simple as that.

Unnecessary. Such treatment is appropriate for children. And if the crew acts like children, perhaps hunger would teach them some maturity.

Of course not. A child would gorge themselves until full, then blame others for the sudden shortage of supplies.
