[Since rationing started aboard White Chalice, Devon has yet to pick up her daily allotment of food. She eats precious little anyway - but that's still more than nothing, and despite ignoring her ration it doesn't seem like she's starving. And this is because...]

1. [Tricky but NOT impossible to hack.]

[When few people are around, suddenly the door to the pantry opens and from the storage area leaves, who else but Devon. Wait, how did she get there? And considering she holds an apple, or perhaps a single bread roll in her hand, it's obvious that someone is ignoring the rationing rules and stealing food.

And worst of all, she doesn't look like she cares about it at all.]

Indeed. And my personal intake is small enough not to change that.

Which is why I will collect my pick when and as what I want, not what rationing regulations try to force me to. If the captain and his force decide to punish the crew for this - very well. It is only their attachment to strict regulations that will make everyone go hungry.

There's still no reason you can't just take your food during the day. It's not like they force the whole ration on you.
