All the Newtype monkeys ran away before we could grab them. Oh well.

It really takes a special mind to come up with some of those things. I wonder what Tron would have to say about them, if she was here. Where did she and the other Bonnes run off to?

It's not something you encounter every day! And I like monkeys.

Well, if they ran away, maybe we'll see them again one day.

I don't want to make them fight. We already have enough monkeys who can do that! But they have other uses.

And hopefully they won't attack us next time. They were some of the best pilots I've ever seen!

I wouldn't know anything about fighting White Chalice monkeys.

But, who'd give mobile suits to a newtype monkey anyway? Do they have a secret underground civilization?

At least see if it was possible. Humans are violent by nature, and monkeys are very close to humans, so maybe it couldn't have been done. But maybe it could.

Well, it's a moot point now, because they all got away. But at least it shows non-humans can adapt to living in space too.

We're not. Shared ancestor and all.

"But it's like they were humans who trained for years. Gave us a hard time."

Well, One Year War started 6 years ago. Maybe they were training for years!

"I kinda wonder if that's all they'll eat."

Well, technically they're omnivores. Like humans! Only with more raw bugs and stuff.

I'll be honest, I never figured Garma to be into newtype research to begin with, but Newtype monkeys...

Guess Patrick was right.

I don't think it was newtype research at first. Just monkey research. Yeah, I know how that sounds.

A while back he speculated it might be possible for other animals to gain newtype powers.

Who'd have thought?

Maybe Patrick is smarter than we give him credit for.

[A pause. This idea takes a while to process, even for the one who just said it.]

I wonder what other creatures can be newtypes. I've read they sent a lot of dogs to space back in the early days of space exploration...

You know, I'm surprised there aren't any dog-piloted mobile armors running around. The cat was a capable pilot, and those monkeys didn't need the ability to communicate through speech.

I don't know. But they'd be really good at fetching sticks!

For some reason I believe that he'll always survive whatever thrown at him.

I guess. He's a robot, after all. And robots are very different from newtypes!

We found out that newtype monkeys are quite resilient too though.

At least when piloting Mobile Suits. I wonder how fisticuffing a newtype monkey on foot would end up.

I was held at gunpoint by a Jovian soldier! There was no way out of it, and I thought I was a goner...

But then, suddenly, the pet monkey who belonged to an old man I knew burst through the wall in his worker Mobile Suit! That gave me the distraction I needed!

So all monkeys, not only newtype ones, can pilot mobile suits?

Depends if pressing the forward button button and pulling switches randomly counts as piloting. I never said the monkey was good at controlling it.
