A quiet night
[Late night in the Chalice. Most of the personnel is already asleep hours ago, the place is calm and silent, and the lights are a bit more dim. It's quite peaceful compared to the hustle and bustle and noise coming from the hangars that are the norm during the day.
For whatever reason, however, you are going around the corridors, be it because you have business somewhere, needed to go to the bathroom, simply to enjoy the quiet, or any of a myriad other reasons...
...but despite the apparent peace, if you're in any way observant you'll probably soon feel stalked. Something is observing around the empty, long corridors this particular night. Every now and then there's very quiet, metallic pitter-patter sounds that stop whenever anyone looks around. And sometimes, a low, quiet creak like that of an ungreased old door hinges' opening can be heard, sometimes to the left, sometimes to the right. And overall, a definite feeling of observation.
Definitely unnerving stuff.
How do you react?]

...and the door opens.
These things can open doors. Enjoy sleeping tonight, Richard!]

[This is terrible on so many levels. Not only because it opened the door and all, but given he who recalls lives in the room...]
Out! Out! Get out!
[At least he'll try and duck inside to try and push it back, rearing back one fist just in case...]

It comes back half a minute later with a grey boxy thing.
It seems to be some kind of capacitor or generator. It extends it to Richard, and cocks its head.]

[Richard hops a bit before he manages to keep himself from toppling over, before turning to find the... box being handed to him.]
What am I...? Wait, who did you take that from?!
no subject
[That sorta sounded like incomprehension. It pushes the thing against you, as if giving it]
no subject
[Richard just... stares blankly at it. Seriously, what is it trying to pull? It can't actually be giving it to him, can it?]

[The voice that comes from behind is unmistakable. Not many people in the Chalice manage to project that kind of absolute calm and confidence in their every word.
The creature, however, just looks past Richard and emits a shrill, excited sound before scurrying around him and going to meet Samus]

And I take it you know what this... thing is?
[He has to shuffle a bit to avoid being toppled by the beast, but somehow manages.[
no subject
And I do, yes.
no subject
...T-That blob is the same as...?!

no subject
...Though I suppose this thing's more just overly curious and unable to not seem... suspicious.
no subject
[No, Samus, that is not very comforting]

Rather, she crouches a bit and pats the creature between its eyes, which prompts it to begin emitting its birdlike noises, and the color of its plating to sort of waver and undulate between green and blue.]
