[Look at that, it's the unmistakable helmet shape of the Hunter-1 coming into the hangar. Samus is back in White Chalice!

And from the way she looks as she jumps out of her ship, however, she's not too pleased with this. she walks through the hangar with inhumanly fast steps. She needs to talk with Ayame and Dan urgently to know the results of their calculations about the incoming disaster. She doesn't think they have much time as is.

[If you didn't catch her right out of the ship, it's not hard to catch her later. She's atop the deck, looking at the sky. Can her Chozo senses perceive the thing she failed to stop yesterday? Who knows. But she looks like a statue there, and not of the nice, pretty sort. Rather more like the kind fearful primitives made sacrifices to.

If you want to have a conversation with her, though, this is probably your best chance]

[She turns her head slightly to look at Devon, but doesn't reply. She's waiting to see what the other woman has to say]

I am not. Actions are taken as each is, and sometimes the choices are closed. This was one such case.

I am thinking on how to stop what is coming.

Oenone felt a little guilty. Stalker Fang's needing help from them might have been the distraction that let the Space Pirates escape.

"Ah...Miss Aran, I'm sorry for not being very much help with those Space Pirates. Do you know what that is on top of the mountain?"

A mistake of mine. That creature was the Prime Phazon Metroid I defeated time ago with the Chalice. It took on a discarded armor shell I forgot to destroy.

It is not. My return does not herald good things. I found out about that creature too late.

Well since we're in no rush... what exactly is this "Leviathan", specifically? You made it clear it's bad news, but... how?

I believe the most apt classification would be "planetoid".

It is a voracious seed of a predator planet from where Phazon originates. Normally, it would only move at the behest of its monster parent, but this one is under the control of the creature you saw.

As my presence has directly led to a sentient planetoid attempting to destroy your planet you may want to rethink that welcome.

A great many things. The Space Pirates had taken station in several of the moons and planets of your system. I uprooted them.

You may remember I was surprised that they had not attacked, without a leader. I was right and wrong. They would have done so, but they found a leader. Or more precisely one found them. When I read their files I got mentions of "the Dark Hunter".

I understood later.

[Laura doesn't cough or clear her throat or otherwise try to signal her presence. She expects it isn't strictly necessary. Instead she just approaches to a respectful distance behind Samus - and to the side - and waits.]

[Indeed, Samus turns her head slightly and nods at Laura to acknowledge her presence]

[Laura reaches up to take off the pendant she's wearing and hold it out.]

You came back on your own, in the end. Does that mean we did all right, or I should have called you sooner?

Samus isn't alone up there. A dark, bulky shadow moves near one of the ventilation shafts. On closer inspection, it's a middle aged-looking Elemental, crouched over one of the shafts. From inside there's a hissing and rattling sound, which vibrates the metal too, making it clang and ring.

He removes one of the long curved worn on his hip...

[Samus just raises an eyebrow ever so slightly at the strange "hunter". She allows herself a small thought as to what could be the thing in the shaft]

It's a rattlesnake, which she may of course be able to sense with her Chozo senses. He turns the dull side toward it and is murmuring things at it: "You are alright...come out now...this is not your place." He's trying to coax it onto the dull side of the blade but it's stubborn and scared.
