And from the way she looks as she jumps out of her ship, however, she's not too pleased with this. she walks through the hangar with inhumanly fast steps. She needs to talk with Ayame and Dan urgently to know the results of their calculations about the incoming disaster. She doesn't think they have much time as is.

[If you didn't catch her right out of the ship, it's not hard to catch her later. She's atop the deck, looking at the sky. Can her Chozo senses perceive the thing she failed to stop yesterday? Who knows. But she looks like a statue there, and not of the nice, pretty sort. Rather more like the kind fearful primitives made sacrifices to.

If you want to have a conversation with her, though, this is probably your best chance]

Oenone felt a little guilty. Stalker Fang's needing help from them might have been the distraction that let the Space Pirates escape.

It is not. My return does not herald good things. I found out about that creature too late.

A mistake of mine. That creature was the Prime Phazon Metroid I defeated time ago with the Chalice. It took on a discarded armor shell I forgot to destroy.

I am not. Actions are taken as each is, and sometimes the choices are closed. This was one such case.

It is a fragment of a predator planet. It will home in on Earth and strike it, destroying a large part of the world and irreversibly poisoning the rest.

According to the scans Dan has given me, slightly smaller than your Moon.

But destroying it will not suffice unless we can destroy that creature.

The Prime Phazon Metroid took on the castoff shell from my armor after the first time I fought it. [Samus doesn't elaborate on that because Devon WAS there when they "killed" it the first time after all] Through it, it has come into contact with some of my DNA. It seems to have changed it.

It dominated the Space Pirates in this sector, first through fear and now through corruption. And now it has gained control of all the Phazon in the system. That makes it powerful, but it could be our only hope.

When the Chalice forces fought the Prime Phazon Metroid the first time it was just barely sapient, a mind slave to the will of a predator planet.

When I met it again a month ago it had gained intelligence, resolve, and a purpose, as well as enough mental fortitude to reverse its slavery and take control of Phazon. This is the reason it can now command the Leviathan into this dimension.

What changed between the two encounters was exposure to me through a cast-off armor.
