Fifth Resurrection
[In the wake of the attack and all the damage the Chalice has suffered, the mechanics are working overtime to try to get the ship patched up, along with all the machines that were wrecked but still salvageable. And for this end, Lynn and R were making great use of the latter's excellent articulation while piloting the VeHA.]
A little higher, R! Alright... now keep it steady!
[After all, why use cranes and the like to precariously position large pieces of metal plating when you could have a machine that was sorta meant for that kind of thing to help with it? It was easy enough for the VeHA to help out in the repairs, and its small size helped even with patching up some of the damaged mechs too, and with R in control the machine's fingers moved fluidly enough to conduct repairs on a much larger scale than any human could hope to achieve on their own. They're certainly proving to be a good team.]

The Elementals, though are fully armored and using those dreadful claws to help clear large debris and carry things into position instead.

I'm a bit surprised to see you helping out with that. Nevertheless, help's always appreciated and I'm sure Lynn feels the same way.

"In a time of need such as this, even those in the Warrior caste should help out. Of course, that may be simply unorthodox thinking on my end. However, as I am the ranking Wolf officer here, my unfortunate subordinates have to listen to my whims, quiaff?"
There is a chorus of laughter from said 'unfortunate' subordinates before R could answer.

[Though the sheer ruckus of Ranna's underlings is a bit more than Lynn's comfortable with. But hey, don't look gift horses in the mouth.]
no subject
She says that in a self-deprecating tone.
"At least compared to some crusader Clans we Wolves do have a bit more common sense, thank Kerensky!"

Can you have that piece of plating lifted another few inches? It doesn't have to be much, just enough so it doesn't cut off some of the internal wiring.
no subject
"You are familiar with repair work?" Ranna asks.
no subject
I've spent more time onboard the Chalice than most of the pilots here, doing repairwork and such.
[She just didn't have a face and a name until it was plot relevant.]
R's new to it though, but anyone can do heavy lifting.

The Chalice has taken some nasty hits before, so doing repairs on this scale isn't entirely alien to us.
[... But wait.]
... R said you'd gotten taller.
no subject
[Taller? Right.]
Oh, that! I don't have to stay like that all the time, and it's actually pretty tiring.
Putting that aside, do you need a hand?
no subject
... How much do you know about repairing large machines like this?
no subject
I do lift though, and I guess I could beef up R's robo-body when he needs it.
no subject
That would be more than enough to help speed things along. We had to put some repairs on lower priority just because the materials we needed to move were too heavy.
[Such as quite a few massive chunks of slag strewn around the hangar.]
Any problem with that, R?
It's not like the VeHA can feel pain. I'm not against it.
no subject
Okay! Here we go!
no subject
[Lynn points over to a torn and warped piece of scrap metal that's blocking access to several conduits.]
If you can bolster R's strength, we ought to be able to move that bit of scrap no problem.

[And Richard's of course been dragged in to help with this stuff too. Good thing the fight with the Inspectors didn't leave him unconcious, or this would be one thing he'd sorely miss...
Either way, he's doing his part, helping to secure the plating in place after it was laid out for him.]
no subject
If I didn't know any better I'd think you've spent years maintaining ships like this.
no subject
[That said, the old work didn't have him climb off onto the shoulder of another robot when he was done.]
How'd you fare in the attack?
no subject
Fighting against one of the Inspectors wasn't exactly the most sensible thing we've done, Lynn. But at least we saved Bernie.
In a way it's ridiculous. I finally resolve not to die and then I do something that was practically suicide.

[Richard's... mostly joking, but the idea IS amusing.]

Hello! And it's good to see you got through the attack in one piece!
[Silly Lynn. Matthew wasn't the one who stood up to an Inspector using a total clunker of an outdated mech.]

"Ah. It appears that the Black Getter was so dangerous because Ryouma Nagare was at the controls, and not the other way around. Still, my skill did carry me through with little damage."
He eyes you and the VeHA. "And what of you two?"
no subject
It was a bit touch and go, but fortunately we had some help.
