[There was probably one good thing that allowing Patrick to go in Roux's stead to help deal with that law of physics-breaking machine was seeing how that Delta Gundam worked. And, impressively, it worked wonders. Even more, Patrick brought it back in one piece, so that was a good thing there. Who knew that the Hyaku Shiki's "prototype" would be just as amazing. Though, there was something that bugged her.]

...there's so many people we've face who just want to wipe the planet clean. It's sad to sit here and think that there's so many that don't want to give it a chance or try to fix it up without bringing more pain to others.

It's strange how Nihilism seems to appeal to so many people, but considering the state of the world we live in, it isn't completely surprising.

[Kamille's back from his visit to the infirmary.]

Patrick did really well out there.

[Somewhere else on the Ship Patrick is feeling inexplicably happy and proceeded to fistpump for no reason.]

But don't we have more faith than them? It's why we oppose them whenever they rear their ugly heads with their apocalypse attempts.

Meanwhile I get the Zeta's legs are shot and its missing an arm. Just my luck.

That, my friend, is a work in progress. [leans against the wall.] Frustration is one of those things that can also work for me, thanks to the bio-sensor. I've got techniques I work on to Zen out, as it were, but then there's the fact that I'm probably the only one in control of the kitchen at this point working against me as a stressor.

Besides, limb maiming aside, I learned a new trick I want to explore with Gainer when I get the chance, I think I did pretty well out there, before Capax Infiniti decided to ruin everyone's day.

Perhaps they want to finish the job once it's been started?

But seriously...perhaps the disasters and near-disasters the Earth Sphere keeps suffering have caused psychological trauma to society as a whole? I'm not a sociologist, but it's a thought...
themomentoftherose: (one eye covered)

It's a Starsiege reference!

[personal profile] themomentoftherose 2013-05-25 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Well it would only take a very small percentage of the population being twisted by the psychological trauma to cause problems for everyone. Consider this children's chant: Little Lord Charles, missing his marbles, while Mechy plays in the Red. Down came the Zeons, who beat us like peons, and we slept after eating our dead. Does this sound like a society that's well equipped to provide for the emotional well being of its citizens? It's a complex problem.

Indeed it is unfortunate how many nihilists still exist in the world in our current era...

... But nevertheless! The fact that they have not succeeded means that there are countless others, including ourselves, who aim to stop their desires! We're both proof of that, as is the Chalice's ever-growing legacy.

Indeed it is, but take heart! The world has survived much, and surely through the diligent efforts of ourselves and others, it shall survive more still!

Indeed. Evil wins if good men and women do so much as nothing... however, so long as we stand and fight we shall persevere!

I think nihilists are throwing a childish tantrum and trying to tack a philosophy onto it. "My life sucks so it's better if the world is gone", and such.

It's not easy sometimes. I guess some people just give into despair and let it drive them off the deep end. Others are crazy to begin with and genuinely think they're doing everyone a favour. And some others are just selfish assholes.

Maybe at a first glance. Destroying Earth requires getting rid of White Chalice first, though. And that's anything but easy.

...Many of those in power are selfish, and more dangerously, impatient. They want the world to change, but rather than let it, they feel it has to be dragged kicking and screaming with them, or destroyed for failing. I can name too many conflicts stemming from that...

[Oh hey Amuro.]
whitedevilbot: (Default)

[personal profile] whitedevilbot 2013-05-24 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Its due to a simple paradox. The people ambitious enough to go for power tend to have selfishness driving them, but those humble enough to wield it sensibly are more likely to not seek such power.

[Amuro sighs, and leans against a wall.]

And then those forced into that position... can do surprisingly well.
whitedevilbot: (Default)

[personal profile] whitedevilbot 2013-05-25 08:35 am (UTC)(link)
Pretty much. Those forced into it don't have the time to mull over or really consider the power - just use it as best they can for what its for. Its how piloting the Gundam felt, at least for a while...

But, good to see there are enough people here with so much power, but they decide to help others with it. Its... why I came back here, I suppose.

Some people stick around for a specific reason. Or have other things to attend to. I... don't. Not without just going to Karaba or the AEUG or... you get the idea.

So why not do it here?
