[Shortly after the battle Midori is brought back to Novumundus instead of the Chalice. The Voxes were sort of their property after all. It doesn't take them long to get Madoka out. She didn't look that sad, though she didn't seem particularly happy either. Her mind was still trying to process everything that happened.  Muginami leaving, Lan's big brother showing up, Midori suddenly just stopping., Youko almost dying. Oh and the fact that she caused the deaths of hundreds of people and very nearly killed Mad and Pit. That realization just got her down a tiny bit.

She's currently just chugging down bottle after bottle of energy. Talk to her? Stop her from imploding her heart?]

2. [Dated to sometime after Lan leaves but sometime before the Chalice leaves Kamogawa]

Sooo I've been thinking some things over and...I've decided that I'm going to stay here with Kamogawa and Novumundus.

[Mad's still a little dazed from the sheer recklessness she pulled during the fight. So do forgive her if she's slow on the uptake.]

I know but Midori still hasn't woken up since that day. And you know just because we saved it doesn't mean that everything is alright here now. There's still a lot we need to fix, that's why I need to stay here.

[Mad's trying to think of something, purely for the selfish reason that she didn't want her friend to go.]

We've got mechanics! And science! We've got a lot of smart guys on board! We can get it turned back on! And there's those Novomundus guys right? They're a whole organization! They can fix everything while we go off and keep everyone safe! And...and... and-

[Mad's now dropping to her knees and clinging to you. And those tears she shed back during the fight? They're back full force.]

Madoka! Y... you're practically my best friend here on the Chalice!

[And here it is, the crux of the matter. She just wants her best friend close by.]

[Madoka knew that feeling all too well. She could understand why Mad was crying, hell Madoka herself had broken down a few days ago. (Not that anyone knew about that.) Still she made her choice. Madoka hugs Mad to try to calm her down.]

You'll be fine without me Maddy. Come on you're stronger than this.

But I won't! I... I.... [hic]..

[She's trembling pretty badly now.]

Madoka... I...

[Her heart hurts right now. Right. There. She can't come up with any actual reasons, just grabbing at straws then losing them within milliseconds.]

I don't... I'm scared...

[Because as much as she's grown up, she's still that desperate and lonely girl she always was.]

[She tries holding her more tightly.]

[Its a struggle for Mad to even say anything right now. So she just sobs softly as she's held.]

[Another best friend - this time she was the one who is left behind. Was this her punishment for what she did back then? It certainly felt like it.]

[Don't worry, he's fine. He's stopped harder with his head before. Plus from the loud voices and shouts coming from behind there's a pretty good chance he just ran in here without asking for permission to go into the Novumundus installation]

What the heck was that?! You had me worried sick! I thought you would disappear inside that weird flower thing! I thought you were going to die!

[And suddenly hug]

Don't. You. Ever. Scare me like that again or I'm going to punt you! Understood?!

[Well that's the first time that she's actually been caught off guard by a hug.]

I know...I'm sorry.

[Madoka returns the hug, resting her head on his shoulder. This nice moment was almost ruined by the Novumundus staff but they left the two alone once they saw the scene.]

[Thankfully nobody does even approach. When the two look later they'll probably notice that the main reason is that there's a certain green-haired figure blocking the entrance - and I don't know exactly what she did or said, but being that the Novumundus people nearest to the door seem to have fallen to their knees it probably wasn't just politely asking.

In any case, Pit certainly hasn't noticed yet, though. He's too busy being angry to to counteract the recent panic. He still hasn't let go entirely, though, keeping her arms grabbed]

As well you should! And what's that you're drinking? Ugh, that smells terrible! If you're feeling weak I'll brew you something, stop drinking that third-rate stuff!

Eh but it's Kamogawa Energy it's first-rate!

[Yui starts holding her head with the other hand. Somebody's having trouble.]

[Aaaah and now she's smiling. Still got that hand on her head, but Yui doesn't move anywhere-it's like she's straining against some pressure, either to charge forward or hold back.]

Ah...and why not? You almost destroyed my entire life, you know! And if this...happens again...

[Finally, she drops the knife, and takes two steps back-first one, then the other. There's still the sound of her strained breathing going through the hallway.]

[Well there was the fact that you were in the middle of the Novumundus base threatening to kill one of there pilots. Of course Madoka wasn't going to say that out loud.]

Wait, Yui!

[Only Madoka would chase after her still.]

[Yui can be found in some random corner in the depths of Novomundus, sitting on the ground and hugging her knees to her chest.]

[Well against COMMON SENSE, Madoka sat down next to Yui once she found her.]

...I know that the two of us have had very different lives, and you might not believe me but...I can understand what you're feeling right now.

A long time ago, I lost someone that I loved and it broke me.

[Madoka gets on her knees and bows over next to Yui.]

I almost did that to both you and myself again. For that...I'm sorry. I'm really really sorry.

Well Novumundus said that they'll need me around if we want to find out what's wrong with Midori.

Besides...Kamogawa really needs my help right now.
