I'm not sure. But he was willing to run up to Mazinger Z and punch it a lot because it looked like the god Zeus to him.

I always thought Zeus was depicted as an old man with a big, bushy beard.

I couldn't have. It's not the Tome that's missing, it's another book! I have more books than just that one.

Could it be that both of the missing items were taken by the same perpetrator?

Oh. Well what was this other book about then! Someone must have wanted to steal it for some reason, right? I mean, I can understand why someone might take an omlette that nobody's busy eating but books aren't the same as that.

It's a fantasy novel. Either someone really wanted to read one, or they took it as a missing item for safekeeping and returning to the original owner...

Or it's the act of a prankster who acts mischeviously for mischief's sake!

...Or someone just took it without realizing it's not theirs. It was very early after all.

Wrong book. The Tome of Wisdom was with me all the time; I wouldn't be able to activate the Paragon without it.

It's just a fantasy novel. You don't think Baron Ashura would steal it just to read it, would you?

Thats what I... Nevermind. Perhaps someone else on the ship was bored and took it to read? I mean, if you left it lying around, its not like they'd immediately know it was yours either, would they?

Well... presumably, it wouldn't be someone particularly keen to pilot, or you might think they'd try and actually help with the fight. Guess there was noone else around with you?

Hmm, but "probably not a pilot" is a good clue. The plot thickens...

It's rectangular, with white pages on the inside, and... Wait, why am I describing how a book looks like? I'm sorry, let's try that again.

It's called [title removed due to copyright infringment], around... this size big. There's a dragon on the cover.

The kitchen, at a very early hour. Whoever nabbed it was a morning bird...

Hmmm. Someone could have thought it was lost property and be planning to turn it in to the library later. I'll keep an eye out.

...Or it could be one of the resident mischief makers playing the fool. Have you asked Dan about surveillance footage? It's a public area, after all.

Wrong book. It's not the Tome of Wisdom, I had that with me all along!

A fantasy novel of grand adventure! It's called [see Laura's thread above]. I've been looking forward to finishing it, so I kinda miss it.

Matthew nods to himself, having reached a decisive conclusion.

"I shall help you search for it!"
