A Leader's Parenting Troubles
1) [Locked to Werter & Laura and CR EXCEPT for Devon]
[Cheng was was walking over to you quickly, he puts both hands on your shoulders and speaks plainly.]
I need you to distract Xue Yi and Nuan Chun for a while. Something, anything interesting that won't scar or endanger them. Its only for an hour at most, I need to prepare.
[Prepare? Prepare for what?]
2) [Much later after Prompt 1]
-Translated from Chinese- "Come foul beast! Meet your doom! 18 Pillars of the Grand Temple Style - Wrath of the Five Kings!"
[And for those of you who didn't ask, now you know. Cheng was apparently preparing for a 'TV' night. Several recordings of what appears to be a Hilariously Over the top, cheesily written Wuxia-with-guns series have been prepared. And Cheng's daughters were just locked to the screen. Nuan Chun cheering loudly as the monster of the day along with its mooks were beaten up, Thrown around, bombarded with daggers, cut into multiple pieces and then hit with an Alpha Strike before it exploded in a truly spectacular fashion.]
"YAY! GO CHAMPION GANG!"
"Sister... Champion Gang always wins. He's the hero."
"But Xue Yiii..."
[Cheng just shakes his head and smiles, popping a bit of chocolate into his mouth as Champion Gang rejoins his friends - they patch their wounds and travel onwards to the holy temple - through endless trials and dangers to recover the knowledge from an age long past to save their homeland from those that sought to prey upon it.]
Champion Gang doesn't always win you know, remember when the Lady Dragon stole his will to fight and left him a coward? His friends were the one who won that battle.
"See! We still have to cheer on for Champion Gang and his friends! That way they win!"
"Um..."
[Nuan Chun thinks cheering for heroes on the screen actually works... of course given that 'The Journeys of Brother Ji' were highly optimistic, there was no reason to think otherwise... Xue Yi knew better though. Cheng didn't say anything at all... do you have anything to say about this moment?]
3) [Long after Prompt 2]
[The Children were asleep on the couch, a blanket pulled over them. Both sisters clutching at the Pig Mascot Doll that Laura gifted to both of them. Cheng carefully turns off the TV and dims the lights.]
[Cheng has a small smile on his face as he lightly ruffles the hair of his eldest daughter and kisses the forehead of his youngest.]
[As he moves away and sits outside he looks a little relieved.]
That... went far better than I expected... I was worried that the show would make them more homesick.

[Nevermind that she hasn't seen either of those shows. Xue Yi just gave Resnick a questioning look before hugging the pig doll in her hands and returning her attention to the screen while Cheng just smiled.]
"Father, can you put on the next episode? I think its the Return of Kai Shek the Lich Commander."
[Nuan Chun looks scandalized at her sister's request.]
"But Xue Yi! We don't have to watch them in order! And.. and I wanna watch the episode where the Cannibal Eunuchs team up with the Lady Dragon and the Demon Witches of Flower Mountain!"
"But they were put in order for a reason meimei and we should watch them in that order. Besides. Lich Commander Kai Shek's return is just as good as that episode-"
"IS NOT! Papa! Play the episode! Pleeeeease..."
[Cheng just shakes his head he'd really rather not get involved but...]
Everything should have a head and tail Nuan Chun. We'll be watching them in order.

[And Cheng gets the episode set up. In the ruins of Beijing, before Entourage of Brother Ji arrives. A great Evil reawakens. Long dead even before the Second Impact, a man who had joined himself with dark powers arises. Fear and Despair. Defeated in an earlier adventure, his phylactery was brought to this dead city where it feeds on the entropy and despair brought by the great disaster - speeding up its rebirth. The Devourer of Despair, the Cruel Slaughterer Commander Lich Chiang Kai Shek has returned. THe ominous thunder effect rings out as the episode title fills the screen.]

[She sticks her tongue out at Resnick like a petulant child before Cheng cleared his throat. She still remains a little grumpy but inclines her head to the clanner.]

[And Champion Gang is thrown through several buildings and crashes through several bone piles. As he gets his bearings he's startled by a skull looking him right in the face - to which he smashes! He gets back onto his feet!]
"KAI SHEK! ENOUGH OF THIS TRICKERY! SHOW YOURSELF AND FIGHT ME IN HONORABLE BATTLE FACE TO FACE!"
[There's laughter from all around Gang... The Lich Commander rises behind him! A pair of jagged blades in each hand waiting to be brought down on our intrepid hero! Nuan Chun is horrified to say the least! Xue Yi seemed to be counting down with her father. Just before Gang could be injured - three daggers smash into Kai Shek's face, Staggering him and allowing Gang to punch him in the daggers - forcing them deeper before he leaps back!]
"Zhou! I thought I told you to let me handle this!"
[And stepping beside Gang was a thin man clad in black - several daggers and a long blade hanging off his gaunt frame.]
"We are brothers in arms Gang. Do you honestly think I'd let this pitiful excuse for an opponent catch you unawares?"
"Stop using your logic on me!"
[Xue Yi was looking very amused while Cheng just shook his head. Lich Kai Shek proceeds to let out a baleful scream at the two as the battle begins anew!]

He leans forward, literally on the edge of his seat. "Aff, Kai Shek should face him in honorable combat. That is the way of tr...Why did Zhou interfere?! He has dishonored Champion Gang by stepping into the Circle Of Equals!"

[And Xue Yi just rolls her eyes as Gang and Zhou continue to have a one sided arguement while Kai Shek proceeds to prise the daggers out of his head, letting out an enraged shriek and hurls a massive screaming skull of death at the pair - who dodge in a spectacular fashion!]
"-PaThETIc MoRTaL ScUM! It dOEsn'T mATtEr hoW MAnY oF YOu tHErE aRe! I aM MoRE tHan A MaTCh FOr GaNG. i AM mOrE thAN a MatCH fOR teN OF hIm! [...Mr Wolf? Well...there's worse things to be called Resnick. But what did she mean about spoiling-]
"-HaAHahaAHhaaAHA!!-"
[And the ground in the TV rattles. A gigantic beast made of bones, wires and concrete snatches Kai Shek up and has him tower over the pair as a multitude of skulls glow with demonic power!]
"...He was trying to distract you so he could do that."

"...Well I suppose he has disqualified himself from a Circle Of Equals if he was going to do that...If they are smart they will execute him for such dezgra behavior if they win."

[Cheng chuckled at that, leaving a trail of smashed enemies (among other things) in their wake... that certainly sounds familiar. Meanwhile on the screen, Champion Gang has swung the rags he had on his back - throwing what looks to be over twenty five rocket launchers into the air before both he and Zhou leaped into the air using the ruins and fired each and every one of them before they hit the ground! Kai Shek and his beast are.... less than impressed. Given his explosive failure Gang attempted to charge up and punch the creature as hard as he could... it headbutted the punch and sent him through a road.]
"You need to stop challenging cheaters and think they'll fight fair Gang!"
"I'll fight how I want to fight Zhou!"

The girls are getting a little homesick. It wasn't bad at first but when the environment on the Chalice became... tense...
