Phase Twelve: ...And Back Again

[The Chalice is still moving west across the Pacific when a few familiar faces arrive in the hangar, hot on the heels of a familiar ship heaving in to range over the horizon. The Nirvana's back to supplement the Chalice's mini-fleet again, and it doesn't take long for a shuttle to bring the three tourists back aboard, along with the supplies and souvenirs they've brought with them. The three are as refreshed as you might expect after a couple of weeks' vacation in a place like Meijire, but Laura's also looking concerned at what she could see of the ship on the way across, and what she sees in the hangar.]

So - what happened while we were gone? We didn't get much news after leaving London... and it looks like the Chalice has been through a lot...

(Momo gives Laura a big, happy smile with a bit of a blush. However, once the subject of the Chalice and trouble comes up, Momo sighs heavily and rubs her neck.)

The Chalice is a magnet for problems. You know that as well as I do...I don't want to drop bad news on you, especially since you just got back, but it is important that you know a few things...Just to be safe.

Yes, there was a rather nasty attack. We barely got out in one piece. The Chalice couldn't even move after it. It was only thanks to two old enemies that are now apparently no longer enemies that we survived. Specifically, it was two former Adventus generals who saved us, Jeremy and DJ RGNK.

Truthfully though...that pales in comparison to our recent problem...It's about Mad. She apparently had suppressed traumatic memories that have come to light and she is very unstable, especially around me and the other Desus. We...We think she might be Hana's little sister who we thought died.

[The mention of Adventus draws a frown. The name RGNK turns it in to a look of alarm. When Momo follows it up with the explanation about Mad... well, there's not much Laura can do in response to that but put palm to face and rub at her temples.]

Oh dear.

Is... does she have anyone to help her through it? [Because as far as Laura's concerned, if Mad's unstable by Mad's standards, that's a hell of a powder keg.]

I'm not entirely sure but I hope there is someone. I have been trying to do what I can to help her, but it is hard since she is afraid of me. However, it seems she trusts me more than any of the other Desus as she is at least civil with me. But on that note, we've also been trying to keep her as far away from Hana as possible considering what happened.

That's probably for the best. I know she's been training with the Wolves... I'll talk to Resnick, maybe.

What about you, Momo? How have you been getting on, besides, well... all of that?

[minorbeat]

(Momo nods in agreement. With the subject change Momo smiles.)

Besides all of that, I have been very good. I am proud because Hana and Sora are starting to shine which gives me hope for the future. Sora has found a new power which allows her to turn energy into solid objects during a fight. I will soon start helping her learn to control it and teach her how to wield an axe. I also got to enjoy getting her drunk for the first time. It was quite hilarious.

Hana has been taking some steady strides to getting stronger. She has a lot of potential Laura. I just hope I can help her see that herself.

(Momo smile playfully at Laura.)

I think she also has taken a tip from you about how to attract women Laura. She now has Eri AND Sora as girlfriends now.

[Laura's concerned look softens as Momo speaks, but that doesn't stop her eyebrows from shooting up at the last bit.]

Sora? I thought she was -

- and wasn't Eri -

...

[She sighs, not knowing what else to say.]

I hope they can make each other happy.

[minorbeat]

(Momo laughs a little.)

You're cute when you are confused, you know that? I don't blame you though. It surprised me too. Apparently, it is something that happened right before the whole incident with Mad. But if the talk we had during our drinking session told me anything, Eri and Sora are fine and rather happy with the idea of both of them being with Hana. I think this will be for the best. Sora was a wreck after the whole issue with Kamille and it is good to see her moving on.
