First Stars All Over Again

[1] Video

Hi everyone, I'm back. I had a restful trip and mom and dad send their best. I had to go back to refresh my excuse for staying with you all, and they seem all right with it. I brought cake, so please take some. There's about three in the fridge, and it's enough to feed everyone as long as they limit themselves to one slice each.


[2] Nanoha was back to full strength, despite the downer mood everyone was in. She had gone out to the practice rooms and she was knocking a juice can around with a Divine Shooter. Raising Heart was counting down the numbers as well.

[21, 25, 34...]

Once she got to 100, she knocked it into the trash, or at least tried to. "Awwww it bounced again?"


[3] Nanoha's been picking at her food, not really hungry as she worked on some math homework. She had returned with an armful of homework and she promised her mom and dad she would get it all done. Currently she was working on some mid-elementary math problems. The page was already half completed and she had scribbled trig equations in the lines.

I thought so too, but with Midchildan, it's more of a science than anything else.

Could that be why so many people on the ship who tried magic are not very good at it?

...??? [Nanoha considered that.] Well maybe it's more like they don't have a head for it. After all, people do use training devices for casting.

Hmm... That might be the case as well! I don't know if I would be any good with magic myself... I'm not sure if robots have Linker Cores.

It's a pseudo-organ in the body, so I couldn't say. You'd have to get scanned for it first.

I don't think if a biological scan will say anything about me... But it's okay. EVE's power serves me well enough.

I'm happy you're back, Nanoha. And I'm sure Fate is even happier! I'm sure she's feeling much better by now.

I think that's part of healing though. Wounds are inflicted instantly, but it always takes time to heal.

Hopefully we'll have the time to relax for a week or so soon. I wish Earth would become a calmer planet... Humans deserve peace.

Hopefully yes. This ship is a bit of a trouble magnet though.

But you're right, we need some peace. To have people stop attacking in such a way that will cause problems.

In the meantime, I'll try to make it as peaceful as I can. My mission is technically over, but nothing says I cannot stay for a while, and this is one of the reasons I want to do that!

...Another one is that my ship is still broken.

I wish Cosmic Ark and Earth were closer... Even with very advanced technology, it takes a long time to travel from one to another. But I made good friends at both places, and won't abandon any of them.

Well, my journey to Earth took weeks... I spent most of it in hybernation, though, and on autopilot.

Yes. Cosmic Ark stays on one orbit all the time, like a planet. At most there could be days of difference.

My ship is much faster than Earth ones, though. For them, reaching Cosmic Ark would take much longer...

That would make sense. Probably weeks of a trip would be up for a few months by earth ships.
