Phase Seven: Passing through

[A dose of Rim's coffee may have revived Laura enough to help out against HALO and Alessandra's strongest tea may have kept her going through a little of the post-victory jubilation, but it didn't take long for fatigue to return in force and only now, hours later, has she revived enough to potter about the ship looking for people to congratulate, still looking pretty out of it although quietly pleased. Where does she find you?]


2. (filtered to Dita, Julia and Christine)

[Laura was a little surprised that Dita remembered the invitation, but after the events of the last few weeks a chance to unwind aboard the Nirvana isn't something she has any intention of passing up. She's got everything she was told to bring, which does have her a little nonplussed as to just what Mejirean unwinding consists of.]

Dita? Am I early?

[You find Rim in the kitchen in charge of coffee and only coffee. It seems as if she had been barred from helping with the cooking in any way.]

I had the luxury of getting a night's sleep without expecting the other shoe to drop at any time, for once. Who knows, maybe we'll all have a few more of those from now on.

Thanks, by the way. If it weren't for you I'd have been out since the fight with General Ysmir. You did get some rest yourself, right?

Technically I was resting during that fight with the enemy General...

It's not so bad, the body might be weak but one of the minds is strong.

I was thinking of passing out some coffee to the crew. Having a second person would help a lot.

[Laura takes in the decor.] It's very... you, Dita.

I've always liked it. [With pink sheets and a nice extended part of the room into a private bath and alien UFO-catcher-type stuff everywhere, it was very Dita. There was also a nice table there too for them to sit around.]

Have a seat. We'll just wait for the others before we begin!

[And cue Julia's arrival as well! She thought it time to finally take Dita up on her offers, especially with such high stakes battles won.]

Ha... and it's good to feel one less shadow looming over all of us.

[A groggy Laura sits upright.]

Eh? Lily? Oh... right. I'm here. How long...

[She looks curiously at the motion but doesn't say anything - brain isn't quite up to speed yet.]

Um, just half a day, more or less. I thought you'll sleep for longer - if I knew, I'd work more on it in the meantime...

(Yoshika's found in the kitchen, finding time herself to wind down after making sure everyone else had been served. She flashes her usual smile at her friend but it dims a bit as she gets closer.)

How are you feeling? Did you get cleared to leave the infirmary yet?

They let me go back to my room at some point. At least, that's where I woke up. I'm fine - still a bit tired, but not hurt.

[Fortunately, Laura's stomach does not take this moment to rumble. She sure looks like she expected it to, though.]

Yes. Adventus is defeated, its leadership dead. Except for one cyborg, who fled like a coward.

However, it was close. I... acted stupidly.

(Laura finds Seiren far away from all the celebrations. She is leaning against a wall by herself. She has her eyes closed, as if deep in thought. She hears Laura approach and opens her eyes and turns to look at her.)

Are you alright E-...Laura? (Hmm. Seems Seiren isn't used to the idea of calling Laura by her first name yet. She seems to be trying though if it is worth something.) You seem to be rather exhausted.

I'm just tired from the fight. I've rested as much as I can for now, though. And I don't want to sleep through the celebrations.

You're not, ummm, celebrating?

I would like you to reconsider since you seem a bit out of it, but if you wish to stay up longer I will not force you to do otherwise.

No. I don't like celebrations. I see their value especially after a victory as it can help raise moral, but they are always so crowded and I start to feel suffocated. Plus I truthfully don't have as much to celebrate as the rest of the crew. Adventus may have been your enemy for quite some time but I have only recently arrived.

It's okay, don't worry. I know my limits. Er, recent combat performance notwithstanding. That was a calculated risk.

I know what you mean, I... crowds can overwhelm me, too, sometimes. Still, though, you may not have had much stake against Adventus, but we did save the entire planet. You've at least had a drink or a slice of cake or something?
