I figured, considering your current predicament, it would be fair to show you this.

[The lights in the room dim, and a slide projector moves down from the ceiling to begin playing on one of the walls.  Jeremy lets the speech play its whole way through before finally ending it.]

So then, I must ask how do you feel about all of that?  Admittedly I have my own concerns about this declaration by the Red Comet and Zeon itself, both objective and subjective, but that may not be the case for you!  After all, a month stands between us and battle with the forces of Axis Zeon, and as a historian I know more than most just how much can be done in the span of a thirty days.

I? No, I was not involved in the actions leading up to your capture, including the heinous acts involving Hua Cheng Kwan. Others though may very well have made a fatal error, though the repercussions of actions are further compounded with each passing day.

Considering Adventus's ridiculous goals, alliance with one of the most corrupt institutions int he Earth Sphere, and past interactions with you, I find that very hard to believe!

No, Adventus may very well be in its final weeks now, which is is nevertheless the time in which it may issue its desperate swan song. And as for myself, I shall see to it that these final moments are recorded, for whatever benefit it will bestow on the world in the future!

It's simple.

Though I must apologize in advance, for if you're unaware of the motives of Adventus then I'll simply start in the beginning. But seeing as how I am a historian, you are nevertheless in good hands!

In short, Adventus is a revolutionary group. Our leader, one Lans Chretian, had been involved with Project HALO to stop the meteor from hitting Earth in the first place. The operation went awry at the final moments though, responsible for much of the damage you see now.

Lans himself is a man who now wishes to avoid a repeat of the past and sees the abolition of giant robots to be the solution! Imagine him like Japan's own Saigo Takamori, rebelling against society and attempting to return things to how they were before the powerful mecha we have today were ever made!

His views are not shared by me, HOWEVER! Revolutions like these are still no less worthy of being recorded by historians, and so for a man such as myself it is a duty for posterity!

Counter-revolutions like Lans's are typically doomed to fail... but that does not mean his stance is not entirely without merit! On the contrary, Adventus is not without valid grievances against the usage of mecha in our world... but instead it merely addresses the symptoms rather than the cause.
