1) [Oh hey. It's that historian made of ham, making his way through the cells. And holy cow does he look cross!]

RGNK! There are things I regret we must discuss; regarding certain actions you have taken!

[Admittedly any of you could probably get his attention if you really wanted to.]

I figured, considering your current predicament, it would be fair to show you this.

[The lights in the room dim, and a slide projector moves down from the ceiling to begin playing on one of the walls. Jeremy lets the speech play its whole way through before finally ending it.]

So then, I must ask how do you feel about all of that? Admittedly I have my own concerns about this declaration by the Red Comet and Zeon itself, both objective and subjective, but that may not be the case for you! After all, a month stands between us and battle with the forces of Axis Zeon, and as a historian I know more than most just how much can be done in the span of a thirty days.

Concerts are one thing, inducing someone to betray his friends and allies in such a way wherein free will becomes entirely moot is something entirely different, RGNK, something absolutely unforgivable!

Taking prisoners, the usage of spies and double agents... these are all things that are perfectly acceptable under military law. But I will never hold my tongue in the face of active mind control the level such as what you've done!

I picked him because he was miserable. It was... at the time, I think a twisted sense of pity. I might have honestly been high on power at that point. But it didn't have to get into mind control at all.

[[RGNK reaches into a pocket for something.]] We're getting out.

And yes. You did go too far! History's proven time and time again 'just following orders' doesn't get you out of war crimes trials. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should; the most ethical of men are those who have exercised restraint, both in war and in peace time!

Mind control, over-zealous use of biological and chemical weapons, the systematic extermination of entire cultures, they certainly get results but the ends do not justify the means, doctor! After all, you don't see me blacking out the skies to coerce regions to let me do my own work, do you?

Yes... I found the... simplest loophole to get out of my contract. Should "Doctor Ragnarock" die, the contract is null and void.

Not counting you current frustration with me, I've played a few people, namely the one I was using. He's fully aware of what I did. As are a few others now. I could hear how much they hate me. Imagine how little they'll hold back should we be sent to combat against them?

I said "playing", not "being", RGNK. There is a world of difference between the two.

Only to a few. By some stroke of... Well... there's some interesting people on that ship let me tell you.

Several of them had no idea what I've done, and even a couple have insisted on wanting to help me.

But, I digress... I found my way out.

That trip we took... It reminded me what it's like to just let inspiration flow, rather than what I might need for the next day. It's hard to think freely here.

[Jeremy scowls at RGNK.]

Admittedly it's a far less evil than outright mind control, but you should not play with the pilots' perception of you.

No, RGNK, the right course of action would be to merely show them you. All of you. Let them make their own decisions rather than making them believe you are one thing or another.

I haven't actually suggested anything to anyone since they've been caught. They made their own judgements of me. One of them even hates my music merely on the basis of what I've done.

I don't mind that at all.

I don't think it'd be in good judgement to let them see much of myself before my plan's finished. I can't exactly count on the enemy to do me any favors, can I?

Perhaps, but I have to wonder why you are bothering with a convoluted plan in the first place.

I started it... And for all the bad that I've done with it, I plan on at least reaping what I've sewn.

But nevertheless! A man who wishes to make amends must not set the terms of his atonement alone, for often the very worst of men fail to understand the full impact of their crimes and the justice that needs meted out. Likewise, many times a man is his own harshest critic, judge, and jury!

Allow those around you to forgive or condemn you on their own terms as well, DR RGNK, and let their own decisions supplement your own acts of reparation! Only through that will justice be achieved!

Right right. But... one step at a time. You can't create a masterpiece without first establishing a phat baseline.

[[So, despite all his two injuries, he reaches for his pocket and pulls out a familiar silver cigarette case. And he holds it up, not knowing precisely where Jeremy is.]]

Smoke? You know I'm going to always at least offer.

[Jeremy's hand reaches out, helping grasp RGNK's just so the man can hold onto it.]

I normally smoke my own but I seem to have misplaced the last pack I had.

[[He opens the case and passes fingers over the different cigarettes. He always kept a few 'regulars' with his, just as a random chance.

Jeremy is passed one of the regulars.]] Are you sticking around much longer?

[Accepting it and lighting it, Jeremy took the chance to take a calm drag of it and sighed.]

Long enough.

There's still one more thing I have need of doing. After it though, I have nothing to gain by staying with Adventus.
