Tenth Rave

[Currently, Josh is sitting atop the wrecked form of the Aile Chevalier, chewing thoughtfully on some random bit of food he'd nicked from the kitchen.  What with still having all the supplies meant for the other half of that "round trip" to Mars, they certainly had a surplus on their hands right now.  And there was quite a lot on his mind right, enough that the damage done to the Aile didn't really phase him at all.]

What happened out there...

... We were lucky.  Haruka, Vlaska... you did a very brave thing out there.  Just know sometimes just sitting there and tanking everything coming at you isn't going to be the best solution.

Colossi on Mars... I really hope we're not going to have to go out into the rest of the Universe to track them down...  Come to think of it, when'd you get a bow?

He was vague and unhelpful, as usual. I... think I just created the first thing that came to mind. I could try other things, but it'll have to wait until Sigil is fixed up again.

This means you can finally work around Sigil's limitations. Your potential arsenal just skyrocketed!

I'm glad you're confident in my skills. I'm not so sure myself... A bow is pretty much second nature to me, so I didn't even have to think about it.

Still though, maybe we could go one better with the bow if you're up for it. Make something that's more than just a bow.

Oh, come on, Wendell. Your machine's just become a lot more versatile. It won't hurt to branch out a little more. We can do practice for that too, same as with you using a sword.

It's a good intention on the battlefield...

Just remember not to throw your life away trying to protect everyone. I won't say that your highest priority in battle should be yourself... but there's going to be some ugly times you might have to accept the only person you can save is yourself.

Sad fact is that doing the right thing isn't as easy as you'd think when you're in a fight.

Still though, you did good out there.

Still, just try to remember. I already said this to Vlaska but ultimately, on the battlefield, there are going to be times that the only person you can really save is yourself.

Not that I'm against sacrificing yourself to save others... just don't throw it away meaninglessly. And doubly for you too, since there's Imber's life to take into consideration too.

Dying to save someone else isn't meaningless.

...Imber feels the same way. If it's a situation where I would want to give my life...I think he would, too.
