The Eighth Flight

[1]

[As much as Ichitaka wanted to go out and help defend the ship his Super Robot was in no condition to do so. The fight with Granzon as well as trying to retrieve Imber had left the machine rather wrecked. At the moment the boy was repairing the machine on his own. It was pretty clear that he had gained some form of mechanical skills as he didn't seem to have any problems with the repairs so far.]

Maybe I should have been a bit more careful.

[Finally taking a break Ichitaka takes a moment to relax and think to himself about recent events. Needless to say it crashed pretty hard on him when he finally took the time to absorb what had happened.]

Some Ally of Justice I turned out to be...

This is truly a conundrum... however, as long as someone's beliefs are honest, even if their cause is misguided, I cannot condemn them.

Do you consider yourself one or more of the kind just mentioned?

This does bring us back to the very beginning of this conversation! Might you be an ally of justice or not?

I do believe a wise man said once, as long as evil is not tolerated, even if you fail once and again - if you have the strength to get back up, to say that this will not do! Then you are an ally of justice indeed.

[Where did Alessandra hear that? She's not sure herself...]

Indeed! It is not your success or failure that decides the essence of your being, it is your intentions that dictate that.

Of course, success does help for obvious reasons, but that is beyond the point.
