[Meanwhile back on the Chalice anyone that went into the hangar would notice Canon packing up most of the equipment she brought with her in her pilot suit.

It was quite easy to figure out that she was planning on leaving the group. She wasn't sure herself why she didn't leave earlier when Gato was beaten, she simply reasoning that she wasn't thinking properly. None the less she seemed quite determined on leaving.

[Soon enough the replacement Fafner pilot has left the Chalice to return to the Federation.]

Assuming that the Federation does not have you executed for associating with us.. perhaps.

What of your comrades? Your fellow soldiers of the Federation. Are they leaving with you as well? Or perhaps... you wish to venture into certain death on your own. Hanging yourself by your orders?

The Federation doesn't do executions. I'm leaving by myself you won't have to worry about Lieutenant Mackenzie or Ensign Uraki. I have enough information about all of you to explain myself. If for some reason they do choose to execute me then that'll be that.

Perhaps you are. But you fought alongside us and bled with us all the same. There will be people whom you despise amongst the ranks of the enemy. But then there will also be people you respect.

[That has taken Canon completely off guard. She doesn't seem to know how to react at all. In the end though she does, though rather hesitantly shake his hand before heading back to her Fafner.]
