Ah, I need someone who understands the techniques that this ship and your guymelef's run on better than me. I have questions, but don't know how to phrase them to a "computer", which I gather is where your people store their knowledge.

Might as well ask. I know you all use these to talk to each other even when you're far apart. I think similar devices exist on my world, but I've never used or even seen one. How do I make it work?

There are still things about this that unnerve me. You'd think people from another world would have a different language, yet I have had no problem speaking with you all or reading anything.

There are different languages. Plenty. But being in the military, it's all but necessary to know the common, universal language of English ((or whatever we're calling "common" around these parts)).
