[Tohya seems relatively unphased by the whole situation. Traveling around with his father and living on his own, especially on the exodus, he has lived through situations where he had less food than this. Strangely, he isn't gorging himself on the sweets at fairy park. Rather he is taking them aboard ship and stowing them who knows where. Care to approach him about this?]

While I know most of you are going to fairy park, I have a project I have been thinking about. And since the repair crews don't have that much to do with the parts shortage, now would be a good time to do it.

I think we should install teleport relays in more locations around the ship. Places that would generally be considered less important to teleport to directly like the arboretum and the gym. It would not only make travel more convenient, but it would also have tactical benefit in the case the ship gets boarded.

More importantly right now, it would help cut down on walking time, which would help preserve precious calories. I don't know if the command crew will allow it, but we can at least discuss what everyone thinks of the idea on the forum I made for this post.

Calories. I'm pretty sure the daily rations have enough nutriants. Having some calories around could help in an emergency, or just help to take some of the edge off if our rations get smaller.

Do we have anyone who's very experienced with teleporters? I'd rather not use one installed by an amateur, especially if there are any flies around.

Fortunately, we don't have to worry about that much. The ship has a large number of remote teleportation relay stations which are uninstalled. That's how we have a teleporter on the Tower, and presumably the Nirvana and the Ptolomeios as well, but I haven't ever used those.

But I don't really see any reason why they couldn't be installed inside the White Chalice. As far as I know all they require is a power source, an area large enough to hold the station and to be within range of the central hub.

Well, that's reassuring. Still, it's probably best to test them first on a sack of potatoes or something like that, just to make sure everything works correctly.

You are quite the pessimist. You know people use these teleporters everyday right? This isn't like a bad old science fiction story. The teleporters don't accidentally fuse you with whatever random lifeform happens to be on them. If that were the case we'd all be giant bacteria monsters by now.

It's not pessimism, it's making sure the potentially dangerous equipment you're going to use works as intended. I know the teleporters that are already set up work correctly, but the new ones? Scientific approach demands experiments!

Also, the part with the Fly was just a joke. And hey, it's not a bad story.

I think testing them is part of the process of setting them up. As for the story, it's amusing at least.

Alright then. In that case, I'm just happy our teleporters don't work the same way they do in some old sci-fi shows.
