Fourth ARM - // LOG // The DATE! [Backdated to when it says below]
The Log W5!
Who: Aidan, Roads Blackwell, possibly interlopers
What: What else? A date... though Roads may or may not be aware of this fact
When: As scheduled, 8:00! A day after this!
Where: On and around the White Chalice. Feel free to notice them and comment, but ask us before you interfere directly please.
Why: Lulz! Also why not?
It was a beautiful starry night in the south United States. The desert was quiet but glistening with life. The stars were shining brightly down upon the deck of the White Chalice. A dark haired young man had picked a place between two of the light sources which lit up the deck at night so that the sky would be more visible. Said youth waited while watching the sky, every so often looking around to find his compatriot...

Roads was a bit late; such were the troubles of not owning a watch. But still, he arrived, taking a position leaning with his back against the railing.
"Nice night out...The stars never got like this back home."

He turned to face the other man with a smile already on his face, "Hey."

He trailed off, noticing Aidan watching him. Nervously, Roads scratched the back of his neck. "Ah, sorry, I must have been rambling a bit there...anyways, what do you want to talk about?"

Aidan was semi oblivious to the other man's nervousness. He realized the signs vaguely, but that seems only natural to him given the circumstances. He knew some people were afraid during this sort of thing, he just let them be nervous and gave them time. Another lesson he had learned the hard way by the experience of not doing it previously. That is, when he noticed they were nervous at all, which when people were more subtle about it than Roads, wasn't always the case.

Roads turned around, so that he was now facing the landscape passing steadily by.
"Used to be, just about everyone was from a city...There would have been points of light covering the horizon here, and even in the dead of night you could usually see your hand in front of your face. Now, not so much..."
Roads glanced over at Aidan. "Say, what was your home like?"

Let's see...first there was that Space war, where I met The Captain, then the actual Second Impact, then the One Year War, and probably a good number here and there in between...

"...Ah, but I'm getting sidetracked. The important thing is what the place was like, you know? I'm not much of a settled person, so hearing about where other people live is kind of interesting."

Hrm, if he was three when the colonies fell, then that would probably be why...
More than anything, this kid's matter-of-fact nature was piquing Roads' curiosity. He didn't seem to have much emotion...well, at all.

A thought occurred to Roads, one that he realized should have come a bit earlier. Perhaps he had held off on asking it for politeness' sake, but it needed to be asked sometime.
"Say, you're awfully...calm about all of this. How come?"

Right, that might sound kind of mean...
"...Just a little bit."

Roads snickered a bit right back. "Gotta make sure we don't have any evil robots in disguise wandering around, you know."
His brow furrowed as he turned back to look at the passing landscape. "Course, those might actually be a thing nowadays..."

There's some silence as Roads thinks back on the fight.
"...Never thought I'd need vulcans...cheating whores."

Roads props his elbows up on the railing and folds his hands in front of his mouth, ala Gendo. His brow furrows slightly on whatever he's thinking at; his gaze is focused far, far ahead, into the blackness of the night.
"...I've had a lot on my mind recently."

"All kinds of shit."
