someone's had way too much caffeine already today

Mira's darting across the hangar, still slapping the under armor on as she heads to her bike having an idea on how to test something and wanting to run the checks to see if it'll work before suggesting it to anyone else.
"Outta the way people!" yep the tech's in full thinking mode... might want to jump out of her way.

A few hours later Mira's up on the deck grinning like a fool as she holds up the 'guns' she's retrofitted. The ammo's mostly harmless.
"Okay! I realize I'm one of the jokes on this ship so kinda asking someone who's a better fighter to help me get some hands on training that won't require someone going to medical. Anyone up for a mecha styled water balloon fight?" Hey she needed something that would be easier to clean up than you know paintballs?

Re: 2
Good ol' Mira, always thinking of him. It almost made him pink with flattery, though he was getting much better at hiding it.
"But you know I don't know how to drive right?" He'd been here since he was 14, how would he have learned. "But I've been thinking alot about trying to learn to pilot other things. Maybe I would be better in something that wasn't so...." How could he describe the Eva in a single word? "Morbid."
Re: 2
Re: 2
"I always wanted to learn, but no one to teach me." He shrugged, happens when you're parents are literately swallowed by their work. "But walking I can handle. It can't possibly be harder than the Eva." Famous last words, right?
Re: 2
"But only took me an hour to learn how to use it without the right helmet. We didn't have one my size, it's easier when the machine can read your brainwaves, but not impossible to use it without."
Re: 2
Kensuke knew all about machines reading brainwaves, if anything, he knew he could take to that part like a fish in water. But he never never driven anything after than a bicycle, other than his Eva of course, so this seemed like it could go either way.
"Well," He rocked on his toes enthusiastically. "Where do I start?"

"I can go grab it, it's in my locker half way across the ship." He smirked. "But all that time on the treadmill I bet I can get there and back before you even know I'm gone." It had been a long time since he felt like boasting about his own strength, if nothing, it was a sign that the times of darkness in his heart had passed.
For now.

He grinned like a fool and dashed off.
Running full speed through the halls was always fun. Dodging people walking leisurely, he almost tripped over the little Zeon princess, yelling an apology and he hurried away. He had to duck under two men carrying a big crate of something, and popped out face to face with someone else. A quick step and he was out of the way.
The plug suit was easy to retrieve, but he knew somewhere, NERV people saw him do it. He wondered why they would guess it was for.
Oh well.
Back across the ship, he all but slid around the corner of the Hanger, with the pre-packaged yellow plug suit under his arm.
"Told you I was quick." He was hardly panting, as he pushed up his glasses with a smirk.

"I knew you would be." She stretched rolling her shoulders. "So I have to see what adjustments I have to make so the plug suit will work. You're not going to have the same protection, but... I don't expect you taking this on missions. Nerv'll probably want to lynch me for even making it for you."

"Forget them, if anything you're better preparing me the world we live in then they are. They're not going to do anything but tell me to get in the frikken robot, so I'll have to prepare myself." He made a determined face, good job putting on a bold act Kensuke, it didn't change the fact that in a way he was quite afraid of NERV.
"I guess I should have put this on, one second." A near by storage closet would suffice, and in a second he came back out decked out in the fully yellow suit.
"Don't tell anyone I said this, but I love this thing."

"Our secret. Though I will need to take measurements later. We'll make you the gear I have so you won't have to go using their stuff all the time." She tossed a small device to him. "That's an emergency kill switch for the 'bot. Keep it in your hand for now I'll have to make you riding gloves for it, but with luck you won't need it today." She finished moving things out of the way. "You're going to step back into it and I'll be folding it around you. Tell me if it pinches or is too tight okay?"
no subject
"Alright. I think I can handle that." He took the little box and carefully tucked it into his palm, better to be safe than sorry, and he was glad she was thinking ahead for him. He followed instructions and stepped in the armor thankful for the thick protective layer of latex, or whatever they made plugsuits out of. "Ok, this is a little weird..."

"It's a bit claustrophobic compared to the plug, but I'll get used to it." He chuckled as if said it, taking a deep breathing and pushing away the initial anxiety of it closing around him. "It's tight across my shoulders, might just be the way it's meant to sit though, I'm not sure." He wiggled a little bit, feeling out the strange new sensations. "And thank you, I don't think I'd look very good in a sundress, Mira. The crew thanks you for sparing their eyes."
no subject
"Huh, here let me adjust it. I did the basic set up when you weren't as muscled after all." She moved behind him to make a few adjustments. "How's that?"
no subject
"Better. Could ya give me a little more?" He waited for her to rework it, partially a little scared of what would happened if he sneezed and flailed with her so close and unprotected to him.
"It's kind weird to hear you say that. I was looking at pictures from when I first came here, I can't believe how shrimpy I was! But I guess there where worst ways to vent my frustrations. I bet Shinji wouldn't even recognize me now." He smirked turned his head carefully to smile at her.
"Man, this is seriously cool! I can't believe you went through so much trouble for me! This is really great."
He did not fail to realize that this was perhaps his first step to break free of his bondage to NERV.

"Well I haven't been here long, but really you were smaller when I first met you."
"I had some spare parts wasn't that hard to build you one like my old bike. You don't get the new one until you know how to use it. Mostly because the cloaking.... Expensive to make."
