Struggling Mry 2

[Vlaska is... upset. To say the least. No not moping. And his regression hasn't gotten anywhere as bad as it did previously. No. He's geniunely upset. Like someone jabbing an old would with a hot poker and laughing all the while.]
Ffffffft....
[That Russian General. The one that had pushed Vlaska to a berserk rage... not only that, had ordered his men to kill everyone present. Just because Vlaska turned up. Just what on earth happened back there?]
2) [Mingle]
[There were several discoveries in the facility... parts for the Slava, documents, data... pictures of happier times long gone by. Among the Data were several recordings...]

-nable to get the Slava to work! Its like no matter how hard we try it just won't activate! Josef! Are you sure that you have tried anything?
"I'm sure doctor! Every single one of the controls!"
Blast it... after all this time I spent... we cannot fail-!
"Father!"
Natasha? What are you doing here?! I thought you said you were home for the day!
"Father! Vlaska is missing!"
You can go get Grigori to help you, right now I need to-
"Doctor?... There's something in the Slava with me. I think it's a ca-"
[The rest of the recording is completely blasted with sound - a backwash of static and a speaker blowing out.]

-pital just confirmed. Josef has been taken off life support. As tragic as the incident was... I can't help but think that this was meant to be.
The material I used to line the Slava's frame may have had a violent reaction, but it seems the Slava is finally fully operational...
and interestingly enough, my Natasha's beloved pet is linked to this...
He's been getting smarter. Sharper. Initial results show that Josef's close proximity to Vlaska may have altered his mind. More to the point he's the only one the Slava will operate for.
I will have to study this further. There may be a way to artificially recreate the results for a human.

-eneral Krivov! Please! Be reasonable! They aren't soldiers or assassins! They weren't meant to be the Motherland's private army! They were meant to protect it!
"You are testing my patience Dr Karchev. I'm tired of having to deal with the disobedience of your pilots and making allowances for them! So I suggest you give me all of the data on the Bronya units and MAYBE they won't find themselves on the wrong side of the military court eh?"
But General! Zakhar! Please! It's my life's work! I've spent years trying to give us something to protect our home! You can't just take everything away and throw us out like this! Not after everything that we've worked for!
"This is beginning to bore me Doctor. The Data."
[A gun cocks.]
"Now."
...No. Enough. The Bronya Project will not be used for such black purposes as this! I'll die before-!
[There's the sound of a door opening, footsteps.]
"Father... Vlaska's collar is-"
[A gunshot. A scream. The sound of a cat crying out in fear.]

"If you are listening to this... then you've probably heard what happened here. We were used. We were once heroes, and then we were forced to destroy lives instead of protect them."
"This is the Last Message anyone will find of us. The Bronya Pobedy are tools of justice. We will use them to fix this broken world. No more war. No more suffering. We will do whatever it takes to ensure that there will be peace..."
"and heaven help you if you get in our way."
"My name is Natasha Karchev... and I will save this world."

[Vlaska's sitting in the arboretum. Somehow he managed to find his way there without his map and without losing his way. He's propped up a picture against a tree.]
[It was a picture of his old team...]
[Genya frowning as Maksim was flailing about - a large scarf tangled about his face, Germogen merely leaning against a wall and watching Lev and Akilina balance each other precariously on a pile of chairs... and Natasha, a gentle smile on her face - holding Vlaska and standing next to an old man who was no doubt her father.]
[He doesn't look sad... rather... Nostalgic. He doesn't remember much about the day that the photo was taken... but he remembered how he felt.]
[Bother the kitty?]

"Thought you could use this, and wanted to make sure you were okay, looked rough for you out there." Yes Vlaska there's the smell of baked salmon from the basket, he also had a some warm cream.

[He's... not that hungry. But one never turns down a good meal. He pads over to the food and digs in... he didn't do that much thinking, not even before the degredation.. but now though...]

[Ichitaka, you see Vlaska extend a claw and scratch a word lightly on the photo, above everyone's heads. It was one word.]
['Save?']

[There's a moment of silence from Ichitaka. He continues to pet Vlaska slowly.]
I don't think that they'll be willing to listen to us.
[Ichitaka just grins.]
Though that's never stopped me before has it.

Mew!
[But he perked up happily and rubbed his head against Ichitaka's hand. The fact that his friend was at least going to try... that was enough.]
